Jessica

Midnight Hotel.

I arrived at the distant hotel we had decided to meet at. The location was absolutely perfect…far from the busy city, lessening my chances of bumping into someone I knew.

Because the last thing I wanted was anyone I knew to see me here with him.

I entered the hotel wearing a wig and sunglasses.

“Reservation for Justin Mondo,” I whispered to the front desk. I looked at my wristwatch, 15 minutes earlier than our call time. But I was sure he was already waiting in the room.

“And your name, please?”

The bubbly receptionist asked me.

“Jessie White.”

The naive receptionist didn’t even have a clue that I wasn’t using my real name. She typed something on her computer. I looked around while she was busy. The reception area was almost empty, and the hotel staff were cleaning outside by the pool through the side glass door. They were just minding their own business, just like I was.

“Room 401,” the receptionist told me.

“Thanks.”

I took the key card. Instead of using the

  • I Am Done Being Your Doormat, Alpha   Chapter 120

AndrewThe moment I stepped through the gates of Goldenville Pack, I stopped and stared. Everything was big, clean, and rich-looking. The roads were smooth with no cracks. The buildings were made of stone and looked strong and fancy, with banners hanging from them like in royal cities. Warriors were standing in every corner for maximum security. It didn’t feel like any pack I’d been to, to be honest. It was a pack straight from fairy tale itself. It was a definition of what every alpha in the land aspired their territories to achieve. It felt like a whole different world.Well, Goldenville was the seat of the Lycan Royals who ruled the Windcore Region since the beginning of time. No wonder everything was at its best. The oldest and noblest werewolf family deserved anything but less. Finally, me and my team reached the entrance of the central hall. Two warriors approached us. “State your name and purpose.”I fixed my stance and answered confidently. “Andrew Campbell. Alpha of the Da

EmmaThe tension of the morning had passed and with every mile we put between us and the Dark Desert Pack, I felt lighter.Ara was scrolling through her tablet again while I was busy with my own work. But I noticed something odd. I saw how Ara kept on stealing glances in my direction like she was observing my every move. Ara normally didn’t do this unless she wanted to ask something but couldn’t speak for some reason. Maybe she just wanted to check on me or ask how I was doing after I faced my ex-husband earlier. So I initiated the conversation for her. “What are you doing this weekend?” I asked casually. She blinked and I chuckled. It was obvious that she was caught off guard. Then she smiled a little. “Probably stay home and sleep all day, Miss Emma. Maybe cook if I feel like it.”“Hmmm…Nothing special to do? Or places to go to? It’s a long weekend, you know.”Ara put down her tablet and turned to me. “I didn’t plan any but if one of my friends invited me to go somewhere, I would b

AndrewIt had been a few minutes since Emma left the Dark Desert Pack, and yet, I remained rooted to my spot.My eyes stared at the disappearing vehicle Emma was in. Everything still felt surreal. I still couldn’t believe that the pride of Medcare Pharma was none other than my ex-wife who left me without saying a word five years ago.The courtyard was filled with whispers and uncertainties. They were all seeking clarity and explanation about what happened. Well, what could I say to them? I was equally surprised myself. Now I understood why Mathilde and Jessica never had an ounce of regret in them. Good thing I confined them inside their home else everything would be worse than it already had been. One of the elders stepped closer and cleared his throat. “What now, Alpha Andrew? What are we going to do?”I took a deep breath. Honestly, I felt so overwhelmed. A few years serving as an Alpha taught me that nothing could be resolved in the heat of the moment. I raised my hand and told th

Emma Silence stretched. No one moved. No one opened their mouths to speak. Andrew looked stunned. He was breathless. His eyes widened with shock. His mouth moved like he wanted to speak then closed again at the last minute. Then opened. Then shut. He looked around as if trying to check if this was really happening. His eyes landed back on me. “Emma…” He mentioned my name again. This time, it was in pure shock. “I didn’t… I didn’t know it was you.” I gave a dry smile and smirked. “Apparently, a lot of people didn’t.” Murmurs filled the air. “Is she really the Moon Healer?” “How come she became a big shot?” “Is this for real? The council looked between us. Some were awkward while some were in pure astonishment. Ara remained beside me. Her steady stance was enough support I needed at the moment. Andrew shifted on his feet. He then scanned around awkwardly. “Could we… speak in private?” The way he had said this was enough for me to chuckle. Then I raised an eyebrow. “But,

EmmaThe trees looked the same. The road seemed not to have changed as well. Over the last few years, very few changes have been visible in this place. And with what happened to the auction, a few of the people here were the same as well. But I was an exception. I was no longer the same. The distance the car covered brought me closer to the place where I had lived. And also, died in pieces. This was where it happened. Where everything started and everything ended.Dark Desert Pack. I used to think of this pack as my home… the place where I’d found my purpose after living with rogues for two decades who adopted me as their own. I thought knowing about my real parents and roots would bring me more joy.I was wrong. Dead wrong. Dark Desert Pack was the place where I learned how fast EVERYTHING could be taken away. And yet, not all the memories were bitter. This was where I found out I was carrying life. That moment, when I first knew there was a tiny heartbeat inside me. It was the

Andrew“What do you think you two were doing?” I shouted as I marched into the room. Jessica and Mathilde startled as I raised my voice. They both looked like a bunch of kids caught red-handed. They were very afraid. Well, they should be. “Offending the Moon Healer? Are you both out of your goddamn minds?” I tweaked my hair in frustration. “Do you even understand what you’ve done?”They said nothing. Of course they didn’t.I continued. “This isn’t just about you two embarrassing yourselves. You dragged the entire Dark Desert Pack through the mud. Do you know how many packs walked away from us because of what you said? How many deals do we lose overnight?”Mathilde scoffed like she had something to be proud of.“We didn’t do anything that wasn’t true—”I slammed my hand against the wall. It was hard enough to make them jump.“Really? That’s the excuse you’ll give to me? You publicly insulted the Moon Healer in front of everyone. They were all high-ranking guests and thought there’d b
