CHAPTER 14: ENDING WHAT NEVER WAS~ Gabriel’s POV ~Before she was out of sight Tanner started up on me. “Gabe! When did you two become official?” “We are not official; I just didn’t want to embarrass her by pushing her away. I wish she hadn’t kissed me here. I told her we would take things slow and see where it went.” I said deflated. I rubbed my face with my hands to try to relieve some stress. Then I picked up my fork to begin eating.“Well, she makes things look like it’s really heated between the two of you.” Said Tanner.“It’s not.” I spoke. I looked back over to Harper who was almost done with her food. There was an emotionless look on her face as she seemed to be deep in thought. “So, Harper, how was your night?” I said trying to get off the subject of Sam. I also wanted to see how she was settling in. She raised her eyes to look at me. Her mood seemed to be lightning.“I slept well, thank you. I didn’t know what time training was, so I tried to catch you or Tanner here in
CHAPTER 15: RESIST THE URGE~ Harper’s POV~ I followed Tanner to a clearing in the back of the pack house. It was a large private clearing with lush green grass and lots of workout equipment positioned all around. Pack members were situated around the field stretching and doing warmups. There was a clearing in the middle of the field that was obviously dedicated to sparring matches. Tanner looked at me and spoke. “So, what do you think? You will find workout equipment all around the field. There should be just about any type of equipment that you would need. In the middle you will find the sparring arena. Water fountains are placed all around as well as areas where you can find cooling towels if you get hot. The restrooms are back near the packhouse doors. There, you will also find a shaded area if you need to sit for a minute.” Tanner continued, leading the way all around the field. Introducing me to some pack members I haven’t met yet.“Wow, Tanner, this is all great! Everything
CHAPTER 16: HE’S AN HONEST GUY~ Harper’s POV ~Knowing that Gabriel ended things with Samantha made me feel a little giddy. But I am very uncomfortable with the way that it all happened. I am, however, glad that Gabriel clarified all of that for me. I can see that he is an honest guy at least.“Um well. Thank you for explaining all of that to me. I really hate that things happened the way they did, only a day after me first arriving here but I do understand what you’re saying. I appreciate your honesty. I probably need to get to my workout now. I am sure you have responsibilities here as the alpha.” I said awkwardly, shuffling from one foot to the other in a nervous motion.“Yeah, sure! Sorry for distracting you. I’ll let you get to it then. Make yourself at home. Use any of the equipment you want. If you have any questions, just ask either Tanner or me.” Gabriel rubbed the back of his neck and took a few steps backwards. Making his way to a set of weights that were near us.“Thank y
CHAPTER 17: YOUR FINAL WARNING~ Gabriel's POV ~I didn’t get anything done during training. All I could do was look at Harper. When I took my shirt off, I noticed her checking me out. Then the scent of her arousal hit me. Mika was clawing his way to the surface trying to get to her. I couldn’t help it. My eyes went black, and possessiveness overcame me. I walked closer, stopping directly in front of her. Looking down at her, our eyes focused on each other. I let my eyes trail down her face and then I stopped on her lips. I wanted to kiss her so bad. I forced Mika back not wanting to make Harper uncomfortable. After a brief conversation of me explaining my situation with Samantha to Harper, we finally started our workouts. I don’t know why I even bothered though. I couldn’t focus on anything but Harper. I caught her glancing towards me a few times. I didn’t care if she caught me looking back. Every time I caught her ogling me, I would give her a smile and a wink letting her know that
CHAPTER 18: SHE’S NOT GOING TO ASK~ Gabriel’s POV ~I left my father’s office and made my way into the dining hall. I picked up a tray and filled it with food. I decided I would have my dinner in my room tonight. I need time to think. Tanner mind linked me asking where I was. Wanting to know if we were going to go for a late evening run. I let him know I wasn’t feeling up to it and I had a lot on my mind. I need to have a meeting with Tanner and my Gamma Kai. Kai has been out of town meeting his family in another pack. I’m sure he’s already heard about all of this. He should be getting back home tomorrow. I had just sat down at my table in my room when I heard a soft knock on my door.“Come in, it’s unlocked.” Kelly opened the door and walked into my room.“Alpha Gabriel I’m here to get your laundry.”“Sure, Kelly, it’s in the corner. Thank you.” Kelly walked to the corner of my room picking up my laundry basket. She was one of my favorite omegas. She was able to handle just about a
CHAPTER 19: HARMONY~ Harper’s POV ~I stopped to take in the sight. It is like I walked right into the scene of a fairy tale. “It’s so soothing isn’t it.” I heard a soft voice. I raised my eyes in the direction of where the voice had come from. I stepped to the right just a little and angled my head trying to see around the fountain. I saw a swing and in it there was an older woman swaying back and forth. She had long silver hair. She was wearing a lovely sun dress. Her feet were bare. She was smiling at me warmly; her eyes were welcoming.“I am sorry, I didn’t know anyone else was here. I was exploring the grounds. I hope I didn’t disturb you.” I said, giving an apologetic smile back to her.“You are no bother at all. I am happy to see someone else walking through my garden. I hope you enjoy it just as I do. Please, come and have a seat.” I walked over to where the lady had just stopped swinging. She patted the seat next to her inviting me to sit down. I smiled at her and lowered
CHAPTER 20: IT’S YOU ALPHA~ Harpers POV~“I see you met my mother,” he said. I opened my eyes to look at him again.“I did, I could sit and talk with her all day.” I replied to him. My heart is still fluttering due to his proximity to me. “Can we talk for a moment? I think there are some things that need to be said.” He asked me.“Of course. I guess there are things that we need to discuss.” He took my hand in his, causing what felt like electricity to shoot through my body. He led me to a round rod iron table that was black with only two chairs. One was positioned across from the other. It looked old but well kept. He pulled a chair out for me. Reluctantly releasing his hand, I sat down. He took the seat across from me. Little fairies had decided to join us. Flying around in all directions. Their colors were adding to the already beautiful setting of the garden. Illuminated blues, purples, pinks, yellows, and greens among other colors glittered all around us. I loved how the fairi
CHAPTER 21: KEEPING MY WORD~ Gabriel’s POV ~She didn’t even pull back when I closed the distance between us leaning in licking her bottom lip, teasing it with my tongue. I captured it between my teeth, softly biting and sucking. She let out a soft moan telling me that she was enjoying what I was doing. I reluctantly broke away from her. “Did you like that?” I asked her with a grin. My voice was breathy. She nodded at me and leaned in again, seeming eager for more. I stood from the table. I grabbed her hands and pulled her up to me. Then I wrapped my hands around her waist and pulled her into my chest. She slid her arms around my neck. I dipped my head down and hungrily took her mouth in mine giving her a proper kiss this time. She moaned lowly into my mouth and began to follow my lead. Her hands began to trail down my shoulders and around my back. I was trying to stay gentle and romantic but my desire for her took over. My hands seemed to have a mind of their own. My fingers found
