Mag-log inOCTAVA:
The elevator ride felt like forever. Each second ticked in my head like a ticking time bomb. My palm was slick, and my palm shallow. I shouldn’t have been this nervous, he was my husband for crying out loud, not a stranger, but ironically, that’s what Jakeson had always been to me, a stranger who shared my bed without ever really touching my heart. The Beta’s words echoed in my ears like a war drum. “Luna, the Alpha is in room 307, currently preparing for a meeting. A meeting on a Sunday morning? That didn’t quite add up, but maybe I was overreacting. I guess the hormones were already kicking in. Still, I held onto the small box that contained a silver chain with a tiny wolf charm. Something I had purchased as soon as I left the hospital. I had purchased it after leaving the hospital. I thought it would be the cutest way to inform him that we are having a baby. The words alone had lit up something inside me. Something that had been dead for a long time. Hope. The elevator doors opened, and I stepped into the quiet hallway. I found room 307 pretty easily. I knocked softly on the door, my heart thundering against my chest as the nervousness returned. Although I was carrying good news, I couldn’t help, but be nervous by Jake’s reaction. What if he was indifferent? It had been five whole years since we had been trying for a child. No, I was being dramatic. I was finally giving him an heir, the one thing he had always asked for. Even the coldest of tyrants would be moved. When there was no answer, I knocked again. Maybe he was in the bathroom. I turned the handle when he didn’t answer. The door creaked open, and I froze at the scene before me. Jakeson was inside, shirt half unbuttoned, hair wet, standing beside a woman who was unmistakably pregnant, Her belly was round as a ball beneath a silk robe, her long black hair spilling down her shoulders. He was adjusting the blanket over her legs tenderly, like a man taking care of the woman he loved. “Jakeson!” My voice cracked. “What is this?’ I whispered, my chest tight. He froze, the warmth that had shone in his eyes just seconds ago turned to stone. He straightened slowly, the air between us tightening. The woman turned her head towards me just then and smirked. “You must be Octava, I have heard so much about you.” Her tone was mocking. My throat went dry, “Who are you?” I questioned. She gave a small laugh, tracing her hands around her rounded stomach. “Elma. The woman who is doing what you couldn’t do in the past five years.” Her words sliced through all my defenses, and removed every tiny benefit of the doubt I was about to give Jakeson. I staggered backwards, my eyes blurring. “You are lying!” I accused “Am I?" she taunted. “He’s going to be the father of my babies." She leaned back, her smile cruel. “Something your fragile human body could never give him. I looked at Jakeson, desperate for him to deny, to say something to the contrary, but all he did was stare at me with the same detached expression he always wore around me, like I was an inconvenience, and not a wife. “Say something.” I cried. “Tell me she is lying, please.” His jaw tightened, but the silence stretched until it became unbearable. The only sound was my heartbeat slamming against my ribs. Elma stood up, brushing her robe down dramatically. “He doesn’t have to say anything, darling. The truth is standing right in front of you.” She took a deliberate step closer as if to intimidate me. “Why don’t you be a good girl, and leave? You’ve embarrassed yourself enough, human .” “Enough!” I snapped, anger bursting through my chest. “You don’t speak to me like that in the presence of my husband!” “Your husband?” she burst out laughing like she was in a comedy show, and I was the main act. “Oh, sweet human, wake up. He was never yours. He was always mine. You were always nothing, but a cum bucket to him.” Her smile was the last thing I saw, before my hand moved on its own, sharp, sudden, a slap that echoed through the room. Her head jerked to the side, and her hand flew to her cheek. For a heartbeat, everything was still, then she let out a theatrical gasp, and stumbled backward, deliberating hitting her stomach on the edge of the bed, before collapsing to the floor. “My baby!” she screamed, clutching her stomach like she had been hit by a truck. I froze in horror. “No, no… I didn’t mean to. She is pretending!” I tried to explain to Jakeson as I took a step closer to her. The words had just flown out of my mouth when Jakeson pushed me to stay away from her, I fell to the ground, hard and fast. But Jakeson had already moved to her side, lifting her gently, panic flashing in his eyes, but not for me. He didn’t even care that he had hit me. “Jakeson…” I reached for him, tears spilling down my face. “She’s lying, I didn’t…” “Enough Octave!” he snapped. “Why did you come here? Why couldn't you just stay home where you belong? If anything happens to her, I swear I will make sure you regret it.” Elma moaned dramatically in his arms, and he turned toward the door. “Stay here,” he ordered, his voice clipped. “I’ll deal with you later.” “Jakeson, please!” I cried out, grabbing his wrist. He jerked away like my touch burned him. “Don’t. Don’t touch me.” Something inside me shattered. He carried Elma out, calling for help down the hall. The door slammed behind them and I was alone. Pain shot through my stomach, the same one that had led me to the hospital. Only it was more intense, more painful. I screamed for help, but nobody came. Slowly, I crawled out of the room, trying to call for help. My body weakened just as I got out of the room, and the world spun around me. The last thing I saw were legs shuffling towards, and a woman's scream, before I lost consciousness.Octava’s povI smiled at him before taking in deep breaths.“This doesn’t feel real.”He smiled and stepped closer. “This one is.”Soon, the day of the wedding came, as the blue skies and pleasant air filled my senses.Today was my day and nothing was going to ruin it.I stepped out onto the path to see him waiting at the end for me.In his eyes were love and affection. No doubt.I soon got to him and took his hands as he smiled.“You look amazing,” he whispered.“So do you,” I said softly. We soon said our vows in a simpler, honest way, and when he kissed me, everyone clapped. After that, the party started as we danced, everyone drinking and laughing to the fullest.“Look, the wolves and lycans are dancing,” I said.He followed my gaze and smiled.“We did it together. Now imagine all we can accomplish.”In that moment, an arrow hit the pillar beside us as someone screamed. Everything fell apart. Soon rogue wolves burst in. They were dressed in black and had weapons. Chaos started as
Octava’s pov“Yes, your eyes,” he continued, “they are strong, and I like that he has them.”I smiled and kissed him as his hands found my waist. He dragged me close to him before he pulled away.“Close the door,” I said.He stood, walked over, and shut it, while locking it as he turned around. I got to my feet and removed my clothes as I stood before him naked. In that moment, he knew what I wanted and he was ready to give it to me.Within a few minutes, we gave ourselves to each other with him marking me as we laid on the bed staring at the ceiling.“What if we announce it?”I looked at him in confusion. “Announce what?”“That we’re together officially. No secrets, we’re not hiding, and there’s no uncertainty.”I scoffed. “You want the whole kingdom to know?”“I want everyone to know,” he said. “You’re my mate, and now that Luka is my son, I’m done pretending, and I have a full family to defend. I will defend it with my life.”My heart warmed at his words. “If that is the case, the
Octava’s povI couldn’t believe my ears. How could she? I stepped forward as Rick’s blade hit my chest, but I stood my ground. “Why on earth would you make such a choice?”Elma wanted us to choose between our family members, and I wasn’t about to let that happen.“Just let him go,” I said, staring at her. “Release him. Everyone can go home. There’s no need for a fight. There’s no need for bloodshed. Why do you want this so badly?”Elma’s fingers tightened around Luka as he whimpered softly. The sound almost broke me into pieces.“Because,” Rick said, “peace was never the goal.”Before I could speak again, Jakeson stepped forward beside me. “How about I offer myself?” he said. “That’s a wonderful third option.” My head snapped to him. “What do you mean?”He looked at me with kindness in his eyes that made my chest hurt. “All of this,” he said quietly, glancing at Elma, “is because she could never have me. Because no matter how hard she tried, I was always looking at you.”Elma’s expr
Jakeson’s povI was crouched there at the bushes when something snapped within me.Then a rumble filled my chest as I noticed my wolf growl. It was finally free. There was no pain, no distortion, or invisible chain pulling at my instincts. In that moment, my wolf surged free as I violently dropped to my knees. A roar tore out of my chest in anger and suddenly it echoed through the trees.“Shit,” I muttered within myself. My wolf didn’t care. It was time to save our mate. It was time to show these rogues what would happen if they mess with an alpha.Without waiting, I zipped forward and jumped into the chaos as I tore through the rogues like they were nothing. It felt good to be free and light at the same time. The rogues all stared at me in shock as I laughed.“You wanted war?” I roared. “Well, here I am.”The formation collapsed with warriors beginning to retreat. Then I felt something stronger, an aura as strong as mine, coming through the fray of the chaos. I looked ahead to see Ri
Octava's povI was standing tall in my Lycan form. My claws were digging into the earth. My breath was steaming into the night air. My body felt huge and powerful. It felt ancient. Then something happened.Something inside me snapped. It felt like a cord breaking. It felt like a chain shattering. A pressure that had been living at the edge of my senses for weeks just disappeared.I froze. That was not me losing control. That was the hex breaking. I felt it unravel through the bond like smoke being ripped apart by wind. The dark thread that had coiled around Jakeson’s wolf was gone. It was torn apart the moment I shifted fully into myself.Elma stumbled backward. Her eyes were wide. She drew her sword with shaking hands. Pointed it at me."Stay back!" she said. Her voice was trembling.I let out a laugh that vibrated through my chest."You do not need that sword, " I said. My voice was layered, beast and half woman. "I already have what I came for."Her grip tightened on the hilt. "You
Elma’s pov“Hide?” I almost laughed. “We are the Bloodfang. We don’t hide.”He scoffed. “We can go to the winter lands. The ground there is very bad for them. The storms are fierce and we know the place better than they do. We can disappear for months.”“Disappear?”“Yes. Then we can band together and wait for a good time to fight. We are better with ambushes than we are with a full-blown fight.”“So, let me get this straight,” I said, walking up to him. “All those threats that Rick was making, they’re all fake?”He shrugged. “He wanted to be the alpha. He is the alpha. He’s just making threats. In reality, there’s no one that is aligning with us. We are rogues trying packs. Apparently, we can’t fight the Lycans alone.”That was when I heard someone laughing in the distance. I turned to see that it was Octava. She was tied to a pole in the middle of the tent with magic metal on her wrists. Her white dress was dirty and bloody, but she somehow managed to look like she was in charge.“A
Octava’s povI followed him into his room as he threw open his wardrobe and started to drag his things out and then into a bag. “What are you doing?” I asked, a bit shocked he would go through with his threat to leave as he looked at me.“What does it look like I’m doing?”I shrugged, slowly closi

Jakeson’s povI fell to the ground before sitting up to see him spreading his arms around me.“Is that all you can do?” He laughed. “For an alpha that has been fighting with me for more than an hour, I expected you to have broken but you seem to match my strength pound for pound.”I was getting tir
