“They said I can never compete with her and take the throne in his heart. But, honey, there is no competition! She can have the throne of his heart while I take the throne of the pack.” -Asmitha (I became an Alpha after Divorce)

Emma’s POV
“Ahhhh.” I accidentally knocked off the vase from the table while scrubbing the floor. I immediately grabbed the vase to check if it was fine even though my back was hurting because of the hit. Fortunately, the antique was alright, saving me a heavy bashing from the owners of this house.
“Emma! Where in the Moon Goddess’s name are you?” Sherra Sinclair, my mother-in-law, came bragging into the room. The anger on her face escalated when she saw me on the floor.
“You witch, it’s already time for dinner and you are still cleaning the floor? Where is the food? Do you want to starve me and Desiree?” She seethed.
I darted my eyes toward the wall clock and realized that it was indeed time for dinner. I got up at once and said, "I am sorry, I lost track of time while cleaning the floor."
I was not lying, you don't realize how time slips by when you are made to clean a three-storied mansion.
"Stop throwing random excuses and get to work at once."
"Yes." I nodded my head and took hurried strides towards the kitchen.
I could feel her eyes filled with disgust following me; without holding back, she said, "You could not prove yourself useful in bearing a child for our family, at least be punctual with the chores."
I stopped in my tracks, my fist clenching on the hem of my shirt.
It's been three years since I got married to the Alpha of our pack, Draven Sinclair. While it looked like I was living the dream of every spinster in the Silver Moon Pack, the truth was far from it. The household which was supposed to cherish me as their beloved Luna, treated me like a slave and Sherra in particular hated me for not bearing for her son.
It was not that I did not want to, starting a family with him has been my dream since I fell for him in my youth. But, the feelings weren't mutual and even though I was his wife, he hadn't touched me even once in all these years.
I swallowed my pride and walked into the kitchen, hoping that she would stop targeting me once I started my work. But boy, was I wrong…
She followed me into the kitchen, and started, "You should be thankful that you are even allowed to live with us. You tricked my son into marrying you but what for, you are of absolutely no use to him!"
I ignored her words, trying to focus on chopping the vegetables but the woman did not intend on stopping.
"Neither are you from a respectable rank nor did you bring any financial benefits with yourself. Moon Goddess, what have we done that you are punishing us like this? Why did my son have to marry this barren woman!"
"Enough is enough!" I finally snapped at her with my reddened eyes and trembling hand. Every person has their limits and I guess mine was this, I said, "Stop calling me a barren woman! The reason I could not bear your son an heir is because he has never slept with me."
I watched her expressions shoot up from angry to shocked, it was hard to tell if it was because of my outburst of anger or the truth. I took a deep breath and calmed myself down, "Stop getting on my nerves now. I can't be held responsible if your son doesn't want to have a baby with me."
I turned around and got back to my work. Sherra was silent for a while, she seemed to have finally understood the gravity of this situation. She shrugged and commented, "Oh, I am not surprised. My son doesn't like you at all, that is why he didn't even bother to lay a finger on you. But that is okay, Stella is getting better now. She will come back and do what you failed to do."
The bowl in my hand slipped out of my grip and crashed to the floor with a loud bang.
What did she say just now?
Has Stella really woken up?
Stella Gracy was Draven's girlfriend from three years ago. The two were supposed to get married but couldn't when she met with an accident and fell into a coma.
Sherra raised her eyebrows proudly seeing my pale face, she said, "You don't dare to be cocky now, do you? It's about time my son divorces you and gets back with the woman who truly deserves to be his Luna. I can't wait to kick you out of my house, you filthy omega."
"You…"
"What is going on?" I was about to say something but a cold, distant voice interrupted me. I froze on my spot and my body stiffened. Even if I were to lose my memory, I would not forget this voice.
Clad in a black suit and a poker expression on his handsome face appeared my husband, Alpha Draven. He stood at the kitchen entrance, briefly looking at me, his mother, and the shattered bowl on the floor.
He did not have to wait for too long as his mother immediately fell weak and launched herself at him. She said in a pitiful tone, "Draven, get a hold of your wife, she is being out of control today. She was being lazy and not making dinner, and when I asked why, she started yelling at me."
The corner of my lips twitched, it was not the first time this woman had twisted the tale like this but every time she did, she did not fail to amaze me. Sherra broke down in tears, making the man hug her gingerly. He shot daggers at me and asked, "Why did you do this?"
"I did not do anything!" I said, only to be shut down by her. She said, "Draven, when you said you are bringing home an Omega, I already warned you against this but look, where this has brought us to. I am getting bullied in my own house."
I shook my head, I was too exhausted for this and decided to return to my room.
As I was heading upstairs, I could hear Sherra noisily complain to her son but I did not mind, I was long used to this. What worse can her son even do to me at this point?
I locked the door behind me and sat on the bedside. I tried to calm down and was just pouring myself a glass of water when suddenly, the door was kicked open. Alpha Draven angrily entered the room and without a warning, pushed me on the bed.
Emma's POVThe sterile, crisp scent of antiseptic was the first thing that drifted into my consciousness, replacing the suffocating smell of smoke and burning metal. Slowly, painfully, I forced my heavy eyelids open. The harsh glare of fluorescent lights made my vision blur, but as the room came into focus, the first thing I saw was a pair of dark, familiar eyes watching me with raw intensity.Draven was sitting in a chair right beside my hospital bed. He looked exhausted, with dark circles bruising the skin under his eyes and faint, healing scars tracing his jawline. The moment he realized I was awake, a look of profound, overwhelming relief washed over his face."Emma," he breathed, his voice rough and cracked with emotion. He instantly grabbed my hand, squeezing it gently."D-Draven..." I croaked, my throat feeling like sandpaper. "What... what happened? Where...""Shh, don't force yourself," he murmured softly, brushing a stray lock of hair away from my forehead. His touch was gen
Emma's POVThe silver surface of a shattered metal container lay on the floor right in front of me, reflecting the roaring flames. I looked down, and my breath caught in my newly formed throat. Staring back at me weren't my human eyes. They were a brilliant, glowing silver. Thick, snow-white fur coated my powerful new form, radiating an ethereal, ancient light that seemed to push the dark smoke away actively. The white wolf. The same magnificent creature that had haunted my dreams for years, the one I thought was just a figment of my imagination or a guardian spirit, was looking right back at me. It wasn't a stranger. It wasn't a dream. It was me. I had a wolf. I had always had a wolf.Xavier stumbled backward, his ash-gray wolf form tensing as his paws scrambled against the debris. A low, disbelieving whine escaped his throat before his bones cracked, and he hastily shifted back into his human form. He stood there naked amidst the fire, his eyes wide, staring at me as if he were l
Emma's POVThe deafening roar of a gunshot sliced through the air, but before the bullet could even leave the chamber, the world erupted into a blur of raw, primal fury.Draven didn’t just break his chains but rather shattered them. The sheer volume of his alpha power exploded outward as his body expanded, skin tearing away to reveal coarse, midnight-black fur. In a fraction of a second, a massive, terrifying wolf burst from the constraints of the metal chair, the steel links snapping like brittle twigs. With a ferocious snarl that shook the dust from the rafters, Draven launched himself across the space, tackling Xavier to the ground just as the gun went off, forcing the bullet to stray wildly into the ceiling.Xavier didn’t hesitate either. As he hit the concrete, his own bones cracked and shifted, his body morphing into a large, ash-gray wolf. He snarled, snapping his jaws shut around Draven’s shoulder, and the two apex predators crashed into a stack of metal containers, initiating
Emma's POVXavier's smile only widened, completely unbothered by my horror. "Surprise."Something deep inside me snapped at the sheer casualness of his betrayal. All the fear and helplessness I had felt over the last hour morphed into a boiling, uncontrollable rage. "You psychopath!" I screamed, my voice echoing off the high walls. The entire warehouse went dead silent. "I thought you were my friend! I trusted you!"Xavier actually looked offended by my outburst, his eyebrows knitting together in a hurt expression. "Psychopath?" he repeated, taking a step toward me. "Emma, everything I have done, I did it for you.""For me?" I laughed hysterically, the sound bordering on unhinged as tears pricked the corners of my eyes. "You kidnapped children, Xavier! You took my babies!""I kidnapped obstacles," he corrected smoothly. The cold, logical way he dismissed my children's lives made my stomach turn violently.Across the room, Draven visibly strained against his heavy chains, the metal lin
Emma's POVBefore anyone could respond to Draven's final, devastating words through the link, another voice suddenly cut through the psychic connection, shattering the fragile silence."Alpha, I must say, I am touched."The entire forest seemed to go still around me, the rustling of the leaves dying down into an eerie, suffocating quiet. This voice was entirely different from before; it was no longer distorted by anger or filtered through a distance. It was confident, deeply amused, and terrifyingly close."You care so much about your family that you are willing to die for them," the man chuckled, the sound vibrating directly against the walls of my skull. "Unfortunately for you, I care about Emma just as much. And I will prove to her I am not a coward.”I heard the phone being hung up. I could not believe that Draven had succeeded in luring the man here. I hid behind the tree, slipping into the long wait of his arrival.Fifteen minutes later…Three black cars pulled up in front of th
Emma's POVBranches scratched against my arms as I ran deeper into the forest, trying my best to follow the direction Trace and the Alpha had disappeared into earlier. My breathing had already become uneven from running for so long, but every time I thought about stopping, the image of Draven leaving with that tense expression on his face forced me to keep moving again.Even though he tried his best to stay calm, I could tell something was wrong.I pushed another branch away and slowed down eventually, realizing the forest around me had gone strangely quiet. That was when I saw it, a massive factory hidden between the trees. I immediately stopped moving and slowed down on my feet. Is this the old factory that Ashel mentioned? The place looked abandoned from afar, with rusted metal walls, broken windows, and old gates covered in dirt, but the armed guards patrolling around outside made it obvious that the building was very much active. My heartbeat quickened instantly. What the hell wa

Draven's POVThe scout barely had time to catch his breath as he came rushing into my cabin, “Alpha, we have an emergency.”The panic on his face was evident and I looked at Robin wordlessly. This matter seemed to require my urgent attention, so I hung up on the call and looked at him, “What happen
