Awakened Desires

"Liah, stop drinking!!! You've had enough," my friends started shouting my name, but I couldn't help but keep on drinking, even though I hated it. It's not like this is the first time I've hated this, but someone made me addicted to it.

“I think we should call him. Otherwise, she will be completely wasted," I heard my friends say. I snatched the phone from them and stood up. “Why are you always acting like you'll call him and all that? Can't I drink by myself? I'm twenty. I'm an adult. I can do whatever I want, and he's not my guardian.”

“My friend has finally met me after all these years. Don't you think I deserve to celebrate this?” I said, but a hiccup interrupted me.

“Then where is that friend of yours, Liah? Why are you alone with us when you don't even hang out with us much?” they asked.

“She... she is at home. She's sick and can't get up. Two of her wolf-like bodyguards are watching over her, making sure she stays put. So, here I am, chilling,” I laughed as I said.

“She sure has had a lot to drink. Call him now, or things will get troublesome,” I heard them speak again, but this time I couldn't snatch the phone. As I tried to take it, I bumped into something solid.

“Ha, you have so much muscle,” I chuckled without knowing who it was.

“Yeah, I do. Now, can we go home?” a deep, cold voice spoke, making me look up.

“You... what are you doing here? How dare you leave her at home alone?” My anger surged. I tried to go outside, start my car, and drive home, but he held my hand, pulling himself out the door.

“Leave! I didn't think you were that irresponsible. I didn't think, as a psychiatrist, you would be so reckless as to leave your patient at home, especially one who just tried to commit suicide,” I said. I was sober now. I no longer felt like I had taken a single drop of alcohol.

“You need to be responsible, Liah. How could you come outside to drink so late? And, for your information, she's sound asleep, just as you said she has her wolves guarding her. But what about you? Who's guarding you? Yourself? What if something happened?” he said.

“Aaron, you better know that nothing will happen to me. Or do you want to try the same hard punch from me?” I asked, chuckling. But as he looked at me all cute, I melted. How I love this man. But when will this man understand? When will he realize how much I've fallen for him? I thought as he opened the car door and tucked me into the passenger seat properly.

He drove the car while I sat in the front seat quietly. I even fell asleep, feeling secure. But as the car stopped, my eyes opened.

“We've arrived, Liah,” he said.

I opened the door and walked directly inside the house while he entered his room. My eyes kept staring in his direction, but after a while, I entered my room and didn't lock the door. I never did. Since he came to stay with me, I never once closed my room door, hoping he might come in and tell me his feelings. But he never did, and my habit never changed.

I walked into the bathroom to freshen up, returned wearing pajamas, and lay down on the bed. I no longer worried about Sarah, my friend, who's with her two boyfriends. Yes, she has two people whom she loves desperately, while I'm dying for even one to fall for me.

I chuckled and closed my eyes.

After a while, the door opened. The creaking noise made me all awake, but I didn't open my eyes. My left hand went to search for a knife to protect myself from any threat. I stopped when a hand caressed my face and touched my lips gently, making my heart beat faster.

“Liah, are you asleep?” It was Aaron. He spoke gently in my ear.

“Can I kiss you then?” he asked. As he said it, I clenched my fist tightly, closing my eyes even more tightly. I could feel his lips on mine, so soft and not even a proper kiss.

“Good night, Liah.” He kissed my forehead and was about to leave when I stopped him by pulling his hand.

“This isn't fair,” I pouted.

“You're awake?” His shocked face looked cute.

“You want me to fall asleep?” I said while pulling him back, making him sit on the bed beside me.

“I... no!” he stuttered.

“Then, why did you stop after starting something?”

“Why did you take so long to reach this stage? Is it too hard for you to do this sooner?” I asked.

“You knew, right, why I keep the door open?”

“You knew, right, why I never once closed the room, despite being with you under the same roof?” I asked, and he nodded slightly.

“Then why did you come so late? If you come now, why didn't you kiss me properly

? Does that even count as a kiss? Our lips didn't even touch properly,” I said, looking at his already wet lips. His Adam's apple moved, making me sure he wanted me.

I took the initiative, climbed onto him, placed my hands on his shoulders, and kissed those soft yet firm lips I'd been dying to taste for so long. I pulled back, but he pulled me close, removed his glasses, and transformed from the cute guy I knew into a hot, cold person I met for the first time.

His hands firmly held my back as he kissed my lips with a hunger I had never seen. He always hid his wolf side under those glasses, acting all cute in front of me. So mean! He had teased me so much all this time, and despite melting in his embrace, I couldn't help but pout.
