I've never felt the sudden urge to throw up than I did right now.

The man who had assaulted me last night.

The crazy bastard who had used me like I was nothing was looking right at me.

His jet black hair was cropped tight at the sides and was a bit grey. His lips were set in a thin line and the white stubbles on his cheeks enhanced his looks. Every inch of his clothing from his tailored slacks to his white shirt, clung to his body. He looked hot despite being mature.

Looking at him made me sick in so many ways. Just last night, I prayed I'd never see him and now he was standing here in front of me as my professor of criminal law.

Why was a professor in a mansion that wasn't his? Forcing a young lady to go on him?!

The class seemed to hold their breath as he talked to them. They seemed mesmerized even. You don't see a handsome professor everyday. If only they knew that type of man he was.

“Welcome to criminal law” he said in the same calm deep voice he spoke last night and I nearly broke out in hives.

“This course will teach us about the very foundation of justice and we'll examine how the law punishes the wrong and exonerates the right.”

Is this psycho hearing a word he's saying? How can he talk about punishing wrong after what he's done?!

“Oh my gosh. He's hot. Just look at him, Sabrina.” Gigi whispered next to me.

“I am glaring at him.” I puffed out.

Why the hell do they find him attractive?!

“You there!” The professor jutted his chin in my direction. “Don't mistake the classroom for a social gathering. Don't parade your stupidity while I'm teaching.”

The whole class fell into dead silence.

He's humiliating me on purpose in front of a class that respects me as their class representative. The nerve of him!

I fisted my pen and tried not to break it. “I'll be sure to parade my stupidity elsewhere, sir.”

“Good,” he grinned. “Now, where were we?”

When I heard that voice again, bile rose in my throat and I looked down to breathe.

The longer he talked in that smooth voice, the more sick I became.

How could he show up in front of me after what he'd done?

Did he come here to find me? Is that it? Because it'd only make sense at how he knows my name.

My head feels like it'll explode and I shut my eyes and count sheep.

I pray that the class will be over soon. So when it ended, I grabbed my laptop and my books and was ready to disappear.

“Stay behind, Miss Sabrina.”

My spine went rigid at the disturbingly calm voice.

What did he do now?

I stepped to the side and let the others walk past me.

“We'll see you later, okay?” Gigi and Larry gave my shoulder my squeeze as if to say ‘Survive.’ They probably thought this was a scolding for sleeping through class. I wish it was too.

I looked at Ivan. He sat at the edge of his desk, his legs casually crossed at his ankles.

“Stop glaring. It's rude.” He smiled.

“Not if the men I'm glaring at isn't a fucking predator.” I never cursed but at this moment, I didn't give a fuck.

“Predator?” He smiled and got off his desk. “That's a term used for animals. I'm not one, sweetheart.”

I took a step back. “Stay back.”

“Why?” He smirked, stuffing both hands in his pockets.

“I don't want you near me. You disgust me.” I nearly screamed.

“Is that so?” He smiled. “If I disgust you then why haven't you gotten rid of me?”

His question took me aback. “What?”

“You know.” He wiggled his brows.

Images of last night flashed through my head and I nearly gagged. He's right. I should've reported him to the police before sexual assault, punish the wrong doing but I didn't. I didn't even remember to do that.

“You can't do that because they'll wonder what you're doing in the mansion.” He grinned.

“I hate you.” I bit out.

“Not yet,” he smiled and reached for his desk. “I have to drop you off first.”

“Don't come near me.” I yelled this time.

He didn't even tell me to keep my voice down. He only grinned. “I'm not touching you. I'm only dropping you home. I assume you live near the mansion seeing how easily you could break into it.”

“I'm not going anywhere with you, Ivan!” I hissed.

He smiled. “I love that.”

My face blanched. “What?”

“My name in your lips. I love it,” he smiled. “Call me Ivan from now on.”

I took an instinctive step back. “I won't.”

“You're a stubborn one, aren't you?” He grinned.

“Miss Victor?” I heard my name from outside and took that as my cue to leave. I didn't excuse myself. I didn't need to. All I did was bolt through the door and never look back.

****

I'd thrown up for the fifth time that morning, my stomach not seeming to hold its contents.

“You sure you don't need to go to the hospital, honey?” Mika, mom's best friend asked as she stroked my hair.

“No.” I shook my head and buried it on her lap. I didn't want to go anywhere, not when I was scared of running into Ivan again. Damn, I swore I'd never call him by his name again.

“Well, that's a shame. He was willing to meet you, Sabrina.” Mom said with a deep sigh.

I frowned. “Who? Your new boyfriend?”

“Don't be rude, Sabrina. He's your mom's fiance now.” Mika stroked my hair gently despite the brief scolding.

I rolled my eyes. “Oh please, their relationship won't last. It's not the first time mom's getting engaged. The previous one didn't. What was his name again? Pete?”

Mom snapped. “Don't you dare, Sabrina! I do all I can to give you a father figure and I certainly do all I can to take care of you and our bills. I'm glad they're all settled now.”

My mind blanked. The bills had already been paid and she didn't say anything? If it hadn't been for those stupid bills, I wouldn't have left the house last night. Why didn't she say anything?!

I suddenly felt sick again and rose to my feet. “I'm going to my room.”

“Sabrina.” Mika called behind me.

“It’s fine.” I dragged my tired body upstairs, praying I'd pass out before I reached my room.

I shut the door and collapsed on my bed, wishing I could rewind time to where mom had left and just lock myself inside the house.

My wishful thinking made me remember dad and sooner, sleep enveloped me.

By the time I woke up, mom was in my room, holding a blue dress in front of the full-length mirror.

I pulled away from my pillow. “Mom?”

“Oh, honey, you're awake,” she turned to me with a smile. “Here, I got this for you.”

I took the dress she passed to me, still confused. “What's this for?”

“Dinner.” She said, still beaming.

“Dinner?” I repeated.

“Yes. I told you my fiance was coming home for dinner earlier.” she smiled.

Ugh! Everytime I dress up to meet mom's boyfriend and after every dinner, they'd squeeze dollar bills into my hands and tell me to leave the house for them. It made my skin crawl.

I heaved a deep sigh and bunched the dress in my fist. “Fine. I'll get dressed.”

A few minutes later, I walked out of my room, dressed in the blue gown mom had given me. I took a look at the mirror and wore a little mascara to darken my sleepy eyes, then I added lipstick to my lips and held my hair up. I was ready.

A delicious aroma greeted me the second I came downstairs. Mom probably ordered food from a fancy restaurant. We both knew she couldn't cook to save her life. Sometimes, I wonder what dad saw in her when he married her.

“There you are, honey. Come in.” Mom smiled at me as I approached the dining room.

I nearly rolled my eyes at the way she sounded nice. Being loud and angry was her default setting.

I grabbed a seat and looked around. Where is her boyfriend?

My eyes zeroed in on a white crisp shirt leaning inside the open fridge. The man pulled back and closed the fridge door.

“I put the strawberry in the back.” He said with a smile in his voice.

Wait. Where had I heard that voice?

“Aww. Thank you. Sabrina would appreciate it. She likes strawberries, don't you Sabrina?” Mom asked.

The man spinned around and I pushed back my seat.

No freaking way.

“Hello, there. You must be Sabrina,” he extended his hand towards me. “Nice to meet you. I'm Ivan Golovin.”

When I wake up, I'll text my girlfriends about it. “If you don't like that option then, we can do something better.” His fingers moved to stroke my bottom lip, parting it slowly. Breaking into a million dollars hadn't been in my plans for tonight but plans changed and people adapted especially when their moms went out with their girlfriends to celebrate their engagement. Apparently, mom's new boyfriend gave her a fancy ring and she went out to celebrate, forgetting that we had a pile of unopened bills and a voicemail from the utility company that sounded very much like a threat. My knees scraped against the concrete as I hauled myself onto the terrace ledge and over the railing, praying my thrift-store dress doesn't give up on me. Luckily, I landed on the terrace without incident and slipped back into the sneakers and bag I'd tossed over. My heartbeat drummed in my ears as I reached the sliding door. I would've gone through the front door but I'd get caught immediately so the back terrace was my only option. I picked the lock, praying my lock picking skills wouldn't fail me now. I fumbled with the keyhole for a few seconds before I heard a click. Bingo! A
