Chapter 1: Geminids in the Tower of Hope's Sky

In mid-December, Geminids were forecasted to appear in the sky of S city. One by one, crowds of people ascended to the Tower of Hope to be able to fully admire the "king" of these meteor showers. Since ancient times, Geminids had always been known as one of the two largest meteor showers of the year with more than 120 bright meteors. Therefore, astronomy lovers would not be able to ignore this beautiful scene.

 

A couple holding hands, stood quietly by the balcony. The boy gently pushed the girl's sideburns behind, with a loving smile on his face. However, the girl's face didn't look very good. Her eyes were vague as if signaling something bad was about to happen.

 

“Geminids have appeared! Look to the sky, pray quickly." Someone's voice rang out, causing everyone's attention to focus on the starlit sky.

 

However, only this couple remained silent. The girl gently pulled her boyfriend's arm and whispered:

 

"Louis."

 

Louis William immediately looked at his girlfriend, sensed that she was unhappy, and kindly asked: "Elise, what's wrong?"

 

"We…"

 

Saying a word, Elise Grande hesitated to utter a word. After a minute, she mustered up her courage and continued:

 

"Let’s break up."

She tried to speak again as loudly as if she were shouting. Immediately, the gentle expression on Louis' face stiffened, he didn't know how to react, and just stood there dumbfounded. His lips parted and moved a few times, but he couldn't make a clear sound.

 

“Elise, are you kidding?”

 

Elise Grande swatted Louis's hand away and hurried away, without waiting for a response, disappearing into the crowd.

 

When Louis realized that what she said was not a joke, he stared blankly at his empty hand, then his eyes continued to search for Elise's figure… Her hoarse voice softly called her name:

But Elise had disappeared among the crowd. He ran like crazy out of the Tower of Hope, not caring about bumping into anyone, regardless of his rude insults, he ran and kept calling Elise's name as he ran.

“Elise, I don't agree with breaking up. Where are you…"

 

The voice gradually faded as a representation of his despair and helplessness as he searched for her in this city of millions of people.

 

Within a few short minutes, she was gone without any reason.

A tall man standing in the middle of the crowd became very small again and began to panic. What if, he really couldn't find her anymore?

 

Looking up at the sky, amidst the animated sound and cheers of joy to see the Geminids, he suddenly felt this year's Geminids were not bright at all...

Recently, the news about Flying Star Corporation has always occupied the headlines, appeared all over the web, and become the center of many conversations. Not only that, every time Flying Star had a recruitment announcement, there would be tens of thousands of people sending CVs to apply, but the number of people who were interviewed can only be counted on the fingers.

 

And this mid-year recruitment is no exception. Every year, the number of employees entering Flying Star is small, but the number of layoffs is relatively uncountable. Meeting the requirements of such an enormous corporation in the country is not easy, and employees are certainly extremely persistent in withstanding work pressure.

The voice came from the interview room, and soon a woman pushed the door in.

“Miss Jeremy, the year you graduated with a bachelor's degree from X University, you were only 20 years old. Other than that, there's no other information for us to verify, it seems strange a little bit right?"

“I went to university two years early, when I was just 16 years old. After I graduated, my professor wrote a letter of recommendation for graduate students and job proposals for me, which I did not send while submitting my CV. Here it is, you can check it out."

 

Saying that she pushed a piece of paper toward Harry Biden.

She pushed her sideburns behind her ear, looked straight at Harry, and replied, "Approach your CEO, then become his girlfriend."
