I, Aurora Lupin, was reincarnated on the day I filled out the mate registration form.

"Write down your name, then submit the form to the city hall," Roland Brock said while impatiently tapping the table. He then lowered his head to look at his phone.

Freya Federer's name kept appearing on the screen.

Just seeing her name was enough to make Roland stop frowning and smile instead.

But when he faced me, all I saw was indifference.

My gaze landed on the mate registration form, and my thoughts drifted back to my previous life.

Back then, I had carefully written down my name before excitedly dragging him out to celebrate.

Instead, he had berated me because he was in a hurry to return and bring medicine to Freya, whose illness had flared up again.

I glanced at his anxious expression, but my gaze accidentally landed on the side of his neck.

A small, fresh red mark peeked out from beneath his collar. Its edges bore the faint impression of teeth.

"If you have something to take care of, go ahead," I said while suppressing the bitterness inside me and forcing myself to sound casual. "I'll fill this out and submit it myself."

He froze for a moment. Clearly, he was expecting an argument and an unreasonable tantrum from me.

After a brief pause, his expression softened. As if rewarding me for being obedient, he leaned forward and kissed my forehead.

"Don't worry. Since we're registering our mate bond, I'll look after you. But from now on, stop getting jealous of Freya. She saved my life, so I have a responsibility to look after her too."

I remained silent.

In my previous life, I had explained myself countless times. But in his eyes, I was nothing more than a jealous, petty shewolf who couldn't tolerate Freya, the shewolf who had saved his life despite being born without a wolf spirit and suffering from poor health.

He said nothing more and hurried out.

I took a deep breath while trying to steady my erratic heartbeat, but memories of my previous life continued to flood my mind.

On the night of our marking ceremony, he had used Freya's recurring fever as an excuse and stayed out all night.

Whenever he went out to handle pack affairs, he took her with him and claimed she needed a change of scenery.

Then came the bloody battle against the rival pack. He rushed to Freya's side first when she was injured. Meanwhile, a silver blade pierced straight through my heart.

Even as I collapsed, he didn't look back.

I bit down hard on my lower lip and didn't stop until I tasted blood.

'No. I won't make the same mistake twice.'

I picked up the pen and carefully wrote another name in the 'Mate's Name' section.

'Roland, since she's the one you care about so much, I'll give you exactly what you want.'

I handed the completed form to the registrar. After watching them stamp it with the pack council's seal, I turned around and walked out of the city hall.

I wasn't sad. Instead, I felt an indescribable sense of relief.

After I stepped outside, I retrieved my phone and checked the email that had been sitting in my inbox for five days.

This time, I tapped on 'Accept.'

'Seven days. In seven days, I will be gone.'
