While the storm was brewing outside, something very similar was also looming inside the carriage. With Vance pinning me down with his heavy weight, the wolf inside me snarling for release, and my human side fighting to keep the core shut to escape another release of the secret scent, the carriage kept rolling outside.
"What did you do to me back then, runt? Why couldn't I kill you there?" He growled at me. His hot breath fanned dangerously close to my pulsating vein.
"I— I didn't do anything, My Lord. Please— please don't kill me." The pathetic act of being a weakling made me sick. But the act had kept me alive for a decade now.
And I needed to act like one until my wolf could be fully unleashed without requiring hosts to channel its power.
"Liar." He purred, burying his face in the crook of my neck.
He was searching for that scent again. I could feel him sniffing me. But I had clamped my core shut. I slipped the scent once by mistake. I won't risk it again, especially now that he is hunting it.
I flinched when I felt him licking the sensitive area of my neck. I held the hem of his expensive robe, feeling the heat build inside me. He was doing exactly what the beast in me wanted for the past ten years.
Lure him, Kaelen. I want to suck the energy out of him. My wolf growled inside me, and I immediately shut him out.
The moment I let my pretense fall, everyone would know what I was hiding. I can't give in so recklessly.
"You're hiding yourself, little wolf. I don't know what you're hiding, but my wolf wishes to rip this pathetic lie out of you!" His voice was intimidatingly dark and alluring.
The carriage stopped moving, and the sound of heavy iron gates rattled. Vance pushed the carriage open, dragging me out by my chains. The guards scrambled off in fear as Vance walked past them with arrogant strides.
While I was expecting him to throw me into the dungeons, he dragged me upstairs to the Northern Wing. His private chambers.
Slamming the wooden doors shut and locking them, he unclipped the chains around me and pushed me harshly into the bed. His room was big, spacious. But there wasn't much in his room. Just a bed, a table, and a chair.
Removing his armor, he threw it along with the sword on the table, making a sickening thudding noise. Without his armor, he looked even more terrifying. Broad shoulders, a well-built chest, and scars that littered his body.
A body meant only for violence.
"Strip, little wolf." He ordered me, making me look at him with a baffled gaze.
"My Lord—"
"Don't make me repeat twice, runt. Strip. You're my sacrificial mate. You are chosen to bear my heat and bleed off my rage." The sheer audacity in him to disrespect a lowlife in front of him made my wolf mad.
Even Vance was sadistic; the wolf inside me was animalistic. If violence was his pleasure, it was a primal instinct for the beast inside me.
And the latter was always dangerous.
While everything inside me wanted to fight him; unleash my silver flame and burn him down into ashes, a deeper conscience reminded me how my wolf was still dormant and required a host to revive.
If he wants to fuck us, let him, Kaelen. Let him touch you. So that we can consume him, suck his powers out of him. My wolf growled inside me, and the Eclipse blood burned in my veins at the unadulterated aura the beast inside me was releasing.
Unable to defy the Alpha energy of my own dormant wolf, I had to give in.
Reaching for my worn-out and torn shirt, I pulled it off my chest, revealing a scrawny body covered with bruises and scars from the abuse faced at the hands of the werewolves.
"What can you hide with this body of yours, little wolf?" He mocked me, and I looked at him in silence.
The beast inside me was circling my mind with excitement. He had been waiting for years to be fed. He had waited for years to overpower my human side and take control. All these years, he had been waiting for a victim to fall prey to him.
Vance was the perfect prey.
The moment my bare chest came into his sight, I saw the last thread of his control and patience snapping. Without waiting for me to remove my pants, I saw him lunging forward onto the bed.
Vance was too blinded in lust and newfound obsession that he didn't see my brown eyes blazing silver the moment he touched me with passion.
The secret scent had him obsessed with me, unable to kill me.
Vance had finally fallen into my wolf's trap.
KaelenThe moment the wooden door was broken down, Vance's sword moved faster than lightning, stopping just an inch away from the council member's throat. The guards standing behind them looked petrified. The air surrounding us shifted. Oh, the beauty of the Alpha power. "How dare you break the door of my room while I was taking my mate?" Vance growled; his eyes glowed with a beautiful, lethal shade of molten gold. The royal council standing at our doorstep gulped, looking at the raging wolf before bowing their heads in submission. 'Oh, how beautiful it would be to have Vance submit to me when everyone submits to him, Kaelen.' My wolf purred inside me, making me close my eyes. Shutting him and his perverted thoughts out, I focused my attention on the commotion in front of me."Apologies, My Lord." One of them stammered out, looking down, partly from respect and fear, and partly because Vance was standing stark naked in front of them. "But the King has ordered an immediate inspecti
KaelenI watched Vance lie unconscious on the bed beside me. The most feared Alpha, who couldn't be satisfied, was now sleeping on my chest after having his Alpha energy drained. Pushing him off me effortlessly, I sat straight on the bed. My eyes burned silver in the dark. My chest was heaving after having Vance's Alpha power settle inside me. The sudden surge of power inside me made me feel my wolf more. Is this how it feels to have Alpha energy inside you? All the bruises on my body healed. The scars faded away. I could feel the strength dwelling inside me. My vision became stronger. I could see even the specks of dust suspended in the air. I could hear even the slightest rustle in the woods. The stolen powers worked like magic.Everything inside me belonged to Vance. The power. The strength. But Vance— he belonged to me. I looked down at his peacefully sleeping frame. His otherwise cruel golden eyes now lay shut. His scarred chest was rising and falling peacefully. Recoverin
VanceEverything became blank with dark obsession and unexplainable need when the thrall got rid of his rags. His bare chest, filled with scars and bruises, was nothing I hadn't seen before. But the urge to claim him overpowered me like never before. He was not my first sacrificial mate. But he was strangely like none of them. When I pressed my heavy body down on his, my lips hungrily taking control of his mouth, kissing him with raw energy and passion, I expected him to cry and beg for mercy. But the runt didn't cry. He didn't beg. He kissed me back with equal intensity. "You're mine now," I whispered possessively in his ear, pinning his arms above his head, pushing his neck to the side as I licked the sensitive area of his neck, making him shudder. In that moment, I didn't care what King Tristan thought of lowlifes. I didn't care if the royals found it disgusting that I claimed a wolfless boy. I didn't care if he had a scent or not. All I cared about was claiming the boy under

Kaelen The courtyard of the Alpha Vance smelled of blood and fear. Kneeling on the cold grass, many others like me were waiting for death. The Execution Ceremony, as they called it, was around the corner. All the wolf-less werewolves, weak and crippled, would be killed by the Alpha himself. He was known for taking pleasure in killing everyone that he found worthless for his pack. Or better, he killed everyone Lycan King Tristan found worthless. To them, wolves like us were a disgrace to their species and name. "Head down, runt!" One of the guards hissed in raw disgust, slamming his foot against my back, and I fell on the ground. "What a fucking weakling!" Another guard scoffed, and I felt my eyes darkening at the disrespect. Wolfless. Scentless. Weakling. Disgrace. They called me all the names. After all, for them, I was just a runt. Someone who neither had a wolf nor any powers to live in this world. For them, I was just a waste of space and breath. Mocking laughter filled th
