Ira's Pov
We have nothing alike. And apart from their beauty there is nothing else they possess I would like. They have infinite wealth, acquired from the taxes and tributes of their countless subjects and close allies. But I value a person's character more than gold and silver.
"We had hoped for a beautiful, royal and useful mate. You're a wretch compared to the princess we desired," the angel in leather coat fumes.
Why can't they just reject me? They are monsters compared to the kind of man I would want.
"I had hoped for a kind, sweet and wise mate. I share your disappointment, your majesty. So let's not waste more time on useless ravings when we could have gotten rid of the unwanted bond. I will gladly welcome your rejection," I reply.
Everyone in the room gapes in shock while my beautiful mates seem extremely infuriated. They must have thought I would beg them to accept me. Or is it that no one has ever made them feel like they are not perfect in every way?
"Do not dare pretend you didn't pray hard to be our mate so you can live in wealth and luxury, human!" the king I met last night snaps.
I only prayed to impress them with my voice so I would win the chance to perform during their banquet. I have never prayed for a mate, least of all three that despise me.
"I measure the quality of a man by his hardwork. Have you worked hard for this wealth, your majesty?" I boldly ask and hear both their servants and the guards behind gasp in shock.
Was I not supposed to answer? I would like them to feel assured that I would not have used a spell to create a mate bond with them. I have standards that they do not meet. My words seem to enrage them though.
"What a mad, thoughtless woman? Throughout my life I was yet to meet someone so resoundingly foolish!" the angel in a fur coat scoffs.
"She sounds a bit too wise to me," their assistant says in an amused voice. "Such intellect and bravery are rare virtues among the wom-"
"Shut up Lior! This ugly wretch could have used a dark spell to create the mate bond. She is only bitter that we didn't fall for it," the angel in silk claims.
He still believes that? If there was a way to forge mate bonds they would have a thousand mates.
"Your majesty, I understand why you wish that the mate bond was forged. It is a stain to your precious reputations. But I find it incredibly selfish that you think yourselves worthy of a love spell," the words leave my mouth before I can mull over the consequences.
For a long moment, everyone is speechless. I wish I can take that last statement back, because the faces of my mates have a thousand expressions of anger.
The one in the middle rises and angrily strides towards me. Is it too late to apologise? I cannot fight him. Not even werewolves stands a chance against angels.
I stand on my feet as I do not want to be completely vulnerable. "I wish to take back-"
"You had the chance to pick your words more wisely," he states before raising his hand and landing a blow on the left side of my face.
I feel parts of my head shake from the impact. Overwhelming pain follows, making my vision blur. My consciousness fades and I fall back to the floor.

Angel Adon's Pov
"When did the women of our great kingdom get the nerve to be so confidently annoying?" Ronen asks with a frown as we gather around our unconscious mate.
She humiliated us in ways no one has ever done before. Who would think a human was the one that would have the boldness to make us feel unworthy of her admiration? I may have lost control of my temper, but deep down I am utterly awed by her wisdom and bravery. Why did she have to be a commoner? Why couldn't she be Princess Andria?
The Princess will be arriving in our palace two days from now. She is said to have skills to tame dragons, the very thing we need to win the battles against the increased weyrs of rogue dragons that are attacking our kingdom. I doubt the princess will be nearly as smart or courageous as this unwanted human. But it is not wits or courage that we lack. We need a queen born of royalty, beautiful as a fairy, graceful as a goddess and useful as an army. Only that can match our might and maintain our good reputation.
"A respectful woman should have had her voice. It's a shame it was wasted on such a foul mouth," Ronen says.
"You pretend to hate her wits. At least she isn't an idiot like most women that want us. She is still a disgrace though," I reply.
"Of what use are her wits when it is great alliances that we need?" Tiras scoffs.
"How are you going to reject her now that you knocked her out?" our assistant asks.
He is the only other person that noticed the human's intellect despite her lack of grace or respect for us. I bet he would have accepted her if she were his mate.
"We may hate the mate bond but we are not going to waste it. If what I have heard is true, it can be transferred to the woman we have always wanted. The human must agree to it though for the ritual to work," Tiras explains.
"You want to transfer it to princess Andria?" our assistant asks.
"If she agrees, of course," I answer. "The human will stay locked up in one of the unoccupied servant rooms. No one should know about this until we have transferred the bond to Princess Andria," I add.
Ira's PovThat's their father? They look nothing alike!Of course, they are not his offsprings. He only raised them, being well aware that they belonged to the white angel. Lysandra already used my blood to bring him back to life, and he looks like he only has life to last a day more. She indeed loved him, despite the fact that he chose her sister in his first life. I do not understand her obsession with the man. He is nothing more than a werewolf who was once the King of Lordsland."How shameless of you to call him your father. You are nothing but a bastard child that your prostitute mother burdened him with," Lysandra bitterly responds on his behalf, shooting up from her seat. "By now you must have heard all about the injustice that your evil mother committed against me. All the lies she told to be loved by my rightful mate. Then carried on to secretly procreate with the White Angel. I have planned for years to rectify all of your mother's evils. Your existence have wronged not jus
Ira's Pov"Who among you freed my soul and those of my men?" a voice asks from behind and we turn back around to see a man dressed in old robes and a golden crown standing on the other side of the dark pit. In his wrinkled hands he holds a trumpet."King Alodias?" Kind Adon ask. "Yes. I and my arny have been trapped here with no hope of ever leaving. You, an unexpected friend, have set us free," the man responds. "Take this, it is a gesture of our gratitude to you," he starts to fly across the pit like he is still a ghost. Suddenly, the doors of the structure close, the broken chains stretch to become longer and lock the doors again, like they have a mind of their own. "They are here!" King Alodias gasps before diving back into the dark pit. But he and his men are free now, they can leave anytime.King Adon hurries to the closed doors and tries breaking the chains again, but it's like they have been made stronger by another spell. We have been separated from his brothers and Lior.
Ira's POVThe inside of the tomb has a circular structure at the centre, almost as huge as the tomb itself. The structure has heavy doors locked with steel chains, like there are monsters inside. "I do not think we should go there," Linda says. "You can turn back anytime you want," King Adon says to her, already striding towards the heavy doors. We join him and the bitter and scared girl still follows. He and Tiras attempts breaking the chains. Not a single metal curves for a long time. "They are locked with a spell," Aruin notifies, pointing at symbols on the doors. "We we must use Ira's blood again?" Lior exclaims. He worries about me even now. I am glad to know that I haven't completely lost my best friend."The spell cannot be that strong. It will be a lot easier for her to give our Kings more strength instead," Aruin replies."How?" I ask."If you bring back your mate bond with them, it will strengthen them. All you have to do is say that you want it back, genuinely," he a
Ira's POVLior and Linda slide past the fog after keeping us waiting longer than necessary. One look at them answers the question why they hadn't gotten here hours ago. Linda has her fingers, tongue and lips all over Lior. She is like an hungry animal, gripping and licking. He quickly pushes her back after the cable boat stops. She still takes hold of his hand after they get off, gazing at me like I have intentions to steal him.Instead I lead the way towards the tomb. Everyone follows."Wait . . . is that a tomb? I don't think we should go there," Linda exclaims.Everyone keeps walking, ignoring her. There are unlit torches by the heavy door which has no locks. The heads of the torches are shaped like crescent moons. I think we will need them to see inside the tomb."Do you sense anything dangerous yet?" King Tiras asks Ronen."Not out here. But there is definitely a trap inside," King Ronen answers.Tiras lits our torches with his fire. The shape of the crescent moon becomes even cl
Ira's Pov"Your aunt's coven must hate getting their feet wet. I hate it too. But maybe it affects them in some way," Linda says. It's also a possibility. I would rather be more careful though. Things are never that easy for me. Like I said, I am extremely unlucky. Which is why I am sure this must be some trap of some kind. Should we trend on the shallow stream or the cable ferry? One must be the trap."I think it's more humble to pass through the stream," Lior suggests."Lysandra cannot be testing virtues. She has the darkest of souls. Think harder," King Tiras says. "What are your thoughts, dear?" he asks, gazing at me."I . . . I . . .am . . . ," I stutter, unable to come up with a thought for a moment. Then it hits me. We shouldn't trend on the stream."We shall take the cable ferry. The stream isn't real," I inform. "How is that possible?" Aruin asks. King Adon squats as he observes the stream more closely."Because sometimes a river represents a division, a gap that separates
Third Person's POVThe devious witch rises and strides towards Thumas. "No one has ever made me more proud. It appears that what Andria told me about you was a lie. I would have her dead head marking my borders if I do not still have use for her," she says. "I will grant you your biggest desire. I will cast a spell to make you a golden wolf. You will be my greatest knight, and Lord Luminis's cherished servant," she offers.Thumas bursts into tears of joy. "Yes M'lady. I will be of service in every way possible," he swears."Your first task is to bring me Ira Levitt herself. We need to be her keepers. There is so much her blood can do. The Angel Kings will grow stronger and more powerful if she starts loving them. Bring her to me before her good heart becomes fond of their company. And they will be easy for Lord Luminis to destroy," she orders."What you ask shall be done, M'lady. Just make me a golden wolf and I will move mountains for you.""The spell will be performed immediately,"
