The more I thought about it, the more sense it made that this match was orchestrated but I had no proof. The King had made it clear that he wanted this bond and even Maya had suggested it the previous night.Echo was in two minds because the evidence of what I’d done was there. I was angry at myself for being in this position but the memories were slowly trickling back. Sleep eluded me for a while and it felt like I had just closed my eyes and drifted off when the shrill ring of my private phone woke me. We stood outside the palace as the limousine crawled up the driveway. Our dragons were on the grass, spreading their wings and they too stood and looked at the car. Echo lurched forward and pushed his nose into my back, making me stumble forward.“Idiot.” Echo huffed a puff of smoke out of his nostrils and moved closer to Milo.The King tried to hide his chuckle as I stood up and wiped the gravel from my jeans. I switched off the lights in our suite and stepped out onto the patio, closing the door behind us softly. I morphed my hands into claws and saw Milo’s eyes turning black as his claws emerged as well. We scaled the walls up to the roof and I surveyed the area around us.There were no warriors at the back of the palace where the King’s private gardens were located. Milo grabbed me in a hug and he jumped down the four story palace and landed soundlessly on the grass. We followed in an SUV behind the King and his entourage. Sorin and the two warriors drove with the King and this trip took us roughly forty minutes to get to the estate.
