Chapter 2

Livia chose not to look at or respond to George’s text or call. What might be the reason for her actions?

She simply had no desire to engage in conversation with a man like George, who was both a cheater and a traitor, not to mention his arrogance.

She had already made a personal commitment to never invest any emotions in George. The man forced her to do this.

This particular day holds significance for her, as it marks a moment of retribution. She possesses knowledge of the events that will unfold today, and she harbors no reservations about confronting anyone who dares to provoke her.

Livia Lumiere will not be seen as timid or easily pushed around. They will observe a different path in their surroundings. With unwavering confidence, she finds herself certain of it, for she took the time to prepare herself.

Lost in contemplation, she proceeded to their office without delay, her mind still lingering on the thoughts that had occupied her during breakfast.

As she made her entrance, the guards were filled with awe, and a few onlookers couldn’t help but gasp at the sight of her.

It is quite unimaginable for them to fathom the change taking place before their very eyes. Once resembling an unattractive bee with her spectacles, she now undergoes a gradual change, akin to that of a delicate butterfly. This marked the beginning of her journey. In the near future, a new Livia Lumiere will be revealed to them.

With confidence radiating from her every step, she entered the elevator, leaving her co-workers, who were accustomed to seeing her with a lowered head, feeling perplexed.

Livia’s face broke into a wide grin as she looked at them. One of the individuals raised an eyebrow in response, to which she replied with a mischievous smirk. The individual’s jaw fell open in astonishment.

“What is it that you are all waiting for?” She asked, pointing to the elevator button, which indicated that these personnel were already on their floor.

Confusion, bewilderment, and anxiety consumed them as they pondered over her treatment. Livia was acutely aware of one undeniable truth: they were in a deeply troubled state. With confidence, she resumed her stride as she reached her office floor. Every gaze fixed on her. The news spread rapidly, like a blazing wildfire. She will transform into a blazing inferno, setting ablaze everything in her path.

The presence on the tenth floor is palpable. Without so much as a passing glance, she ignored them. She softly whispered, expressing her immense pleasure in the moment.

Livia wears a smirk on her face as she makes her way from her house to the office. Glancing at her secretary, she proceeded to step into her office.

“Make me a cup of coffee. Check that it is neither too sweet nor too bitter. Give it to me in five minutes,” she said flatly. The secretary's eyes grew wide, and her jaw fell open, just like everyone else’s. The employees, whose office tables are near Livia’s office, couldn't believe their eyes as they witnessed the astonishing scene.

The secretary and the employees exchanged glances. Questions linger in their eyes, their silent inquiries seeking answers that elude all.

The secretary just shrugged her shoulders, thinking that Livia had just gotten up badly.

Unbeknownst to the secretary, she was about to face a humiliation she had never encountered before. Livia settled into her swivel chair, finding it quite comfortable.

At any given moment, not only will her secretary, but also her workload, make their entrance through the door. Countless times had she readied herself prior to her arrival at this place. The woman feigned diligent work, eagerly anticipating the demons’ next move. She was the one responsible for creating all the reports, particularly in the finance department.

Livia couldn’t help but stifle a silent laugh as her first victim walked in, holding a cup of coffee. “You can get your own coffee. Why do you continue to give me orders when I already have a significant amount of work to attend to outside?”

After placing the coffee cup on the table with a slight slam, the secretary informed her. The coffee was spilled, just a little. While still working on her tasks, Livia took a moment to look at the documents that the coffee spill had soiled. She managed to calm herself, yet her voice remained cold.

“Preparing my coffee is one of your responsibilities. It’s part of your job description. If you happen to be unwilling to proceed with the task, you may leave this office, but let me tell you, my dear, if you step outside my office without apologizing, you should find another job," Livia remarked with a chilly tone and soulless eyes.

The secretary’s breath caught in her throat as she absorbed the words, her gaze fixed on her boss with a grave expression. Uncertainty clouded the secretary’s thoughts, leaving her unsure of how to proceed.

There was a belief among them that something was amiss with their boss, and indeed, their intuition proved to be accurate. Livia, indeed, possesses a remarkable level of fierceness.

“As if I don’t know what you do during your working hours. Don’t test my patience, Miss Rebecca Vergara,” Livia said to the secretary, which paled in comparison to what she said.

The secretary felt a gulp rise in her throat, and her body began to perspire. Without hesitation, the woman lowered her head and offered a sincere apology.

“I apologize, ma’am. I promise not to do it again,” the secretary stammered.

The secretary, in a state of shock, remained motionless. Had Livia not raised her voice, it is likely that the secretary would still be rooted in her spot.

“What are you waiting for? Move! I dislike it when people slack off! Give me my coffee in just five minutes!” Livia’s voice echoed through the office, reaching not only the secretary but also the employees outside the department.

In a state of panic, the secretary swiftly retrieved the cup and proceeded to clean her boss's table. They weren’t expecting the timid Livia to yell. They pondered not upon the mere notion that she merely failed to arise from slumber on the unfavourable side of the bed. Nay, she is indeed undergoing a change, becoming an unstoppable force that eludes all resistance.

Livia paused her work for the day and patiently awaited the return of the secretary. Rebecca trembled as she delicately placed the cup. Livia grasped the object and brought it to her lips, savouring the taste as it cascaded down her throat.

However, she abruptly halted, pausing to contemplate the consequences of her actions. “The water isn’t hot, and it’s too sweet! Change this coffee!” Once more, she placed an order. The secretary appeared on the verge of toppling from the stand, yet she dutifully complied with the instruction without uttering a single complaint. The secretary is overwhelmed by the current situation, perceiving it as a nightmare experience.

Livia’s order persisted in its unyielding nature, causing her secretary to appear increasingly unhinged. This is just the first opportunity to show his pride again.

“Stop! I no longer crave coffee. Get these papers and type them in formal format, with no grammar or typing problems.”  With a mischievous grin, she glanced at the secretary, who stared back in disbelief.

“Instead of simply do your job! Despite our position, you are acting as though you are superior to me before. I am merely reflecting what you sow,” Livia stated with an emotionless tone, causing the secretary to comprehend the weight of her words.

Livia noticed the tears in Rebecca’s eyes, but rather than feeling sorry for the secretary, she raised an eyebrow.

“Rebecca, I won’t show you any pity.” She informed the secretary, “You know it.”

Livia couldn’t help but scoff as Rebecca walked out of her office. The woman’s ears caught the resounding slam of the door. In the solitude of her office, she found herself overcome with laughter, its echoes reverberating throughout the room. She laughed so hard that her stomach nearly hurt.

“This is just the beginning, everyone!”
