Author’s POV

In a dimly lit room, void of light,

A man was standing in a large room, almost hall-like, looking out of the window into the bright, twinkling lights of the city, a cigar in his mouth, its smoke swirling into the air.

There were a few masked guards standing by the side, each of them fully armed.

Suddenly, three men walked in, standing beside each other in a straight line.

“Boss,” they greeted in unison.

The man did not respond. Not immediately. He acted like he hadn’t heard them, stood still, his gaze still far away.

The room remained silent until—

“I sent for you all yesterday. Why didn’t you respond?” he asked, still not turning back.

The men did not respond. They kept quiet until—

One of them spoke. River.

“Boss, we sent Rain,” he responded, voice low.

There was silence. The Boss paused, pulling his cigarette from his mouth.

“Did I just hear you say you sent Rain!?” he asked. “I said I needed y’all here at 2 a.m., and you selected a delegate for yourselves?”

He finally

Debbie.I couldn't believe my eyes. How… how the hell did this guy come here? I mean, how?“How did you get in here?” I whispered. He stood up from the couch, smiling, his eyes roaming up and down my body."You look sexy.”I felt a rush of heat run down to my core.Hell no. Not here, Debbie.“Rain. You're not saying how you got in here. What if someone sees—”“I told you I’d be checking on you,” he interrupted. He stepped closer, now standing in front of me.“This house is easy to break into if you know the guard rotations. Which, I do.”His hand moved to my waist, wrapping itself around me, pulling me close. His blue eyes locked on mine."Missed me?"Fuck. With him this close, I couldn't help it. I really missed him. But this—this was a risk I wasn't about to take."Rain, you have to leave! If Black finds you—"I heard something—a creaking sound—from the bathroom.Rain froze, his eyes turning in that direction, sharp and dangerous. He pushed me behind him, his stance changing, ready

  • I'm My Brothers In-law's Obsession    Reconciliation, pardon me

DebbieI walked down the long hallway toward Black’s office. Every step I took felt different.Usually, I walked this floor like I was trying to disappear. I used to keep my head down and pray he wouldn't notice any error as I moved. But today, I wasn't. I seemed to be walking with a kind of pride I didn’t know where it was coming from.I reached the large doors and didn't knock. I just pushed them open and walked in.Black was sitting behind his desk, but he wasn't working. He was staring at the door, possibly waiting for me.I saw the way his jaw actually dropped when his eyes caught my sight. His eyes traveled from my face down to… everywhere his eyes wanted to roam."Debbie," he breathed, standing up slowly."You... you look incredible."I didn't smile.“Miara said you wanted to see me, Black.”He walked around the desk, stopping a few feet away from me. "Yes… yes, Debbie, I wanted to talk," he said in a totally different voice—different from the loud, mean sound that always troop

  • I'm My Brothers In-law's Obsession    Coming back to my past.

DebbieThe morning air felt cold, but it wasn't the weather. The weather was normal. It was reality hitting me. The twenty-four hours were up. My three days of freedom were over—or should I say, my three days of bonding with my brothers-in-law.Outside the compound, a long, black car was sitting idle, steaming. Black had sent his personal driver to bring me home.River, Rain, and Rex stood on the porch with me. For the first time since I arrived, nobody was joking.Rain wasn't teasing me. River wasn't smiling. Rex looked like he was… frozen. His face looked pale, like he was sick."I don't want to go," I whispered, the first tear sliding down my cheek."You're right." Rain turned to the others. "We shouldn't let her go. What is four percent shares that we cannot afford to give her? She should stay.""Stay here. I’ll go out there and tell that driver to go to hell.""No, Rain," River said softly, placing a hand on Rain’s chest to hold him back.He turned to me, his eyes full of a deep,

Debbie.I woke up on the third day to a silence so deep that it almost felt heavy.Yesterday, unfortunately, had ended, and funny enough, the days seemed to go by faster than anyone would originally imagine. We had just finished breakfast. Rex didn't attend, but I knew exactly where he would be.I found him in the large library. He was sitting behind a desk, wearing a white button-down shirt, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, revealing the strong, corded muscles of his forearms. A laptop sat in front of him as his hands worked furiously on it.As I stepped in, he raised his face up, shifting the laptop to the side.“Debbie,” he greeted with a calm face. “Sit down,” he said, gesturing at the chair in front of him.I sat in the leather chair across from him. For the next two hours, it was like being in school. But the stakes were life and death. He talked about the 4% shares. He talked about everything I needed to know about the company. He showed me photos of the board members, lecturin

Debbie. The waiter managed to finish pouring the drink in the glass and hurriedly leaving the table.Rain’s hand was still buried in-between my legs.“Rain… that guy… he saw… ahh… us,” I rasped. He should. He has eyes. His finger slid back in, sliding back, arching my hip forward. His finger started moving in and out of me.He shifted his chair closer, his body blocking me from the rest of the room. His hand was moving with a steady, torturous rhythm now. I had to grip the edge of the table to keep from crying out."Rain... please," I gasped."Please what, baby? You want me to stop? Or you want me to take you to the bathroom and show you exactly what I’ve been dreaming about all day?"I looked at him. His eyes were full of a hunger, a kind of hunger that made me feel alive."The bathroom," I whispered. He grinned, a dark, predatory look. He stood up, grabbing my hand and pulling me toward the back of the lounge. "I thought you'd never ask."In minutes, we were at the bathroom. He push

  • I'm My Brothers In-law's Obsession    Day Two with rain. It's shopping time

Debbie.I woke up feeling the soreness in my muscles from yesterday, but of course, it was a good kind of pain.I didn’t have much time to think before my door swung open.It was Rain carrying a tray. He looked like he had been awake for hours, full of that wild, restless energy that always followed him.“Good morning, Sexy,” he cheered.“Good morning, Rain,” I murmured, sleep still clouding my voice. He walked in, setting the tray on my lap. It was loaded with pancakes, bacon, and a tall glass of orange juice. He placed a kiss on my lips. A supposed morning kiss. But it wasn’t quick. It lingered. For a while. Before he pulled back.“How was your first day?” he asked.I smiled. “It was good.”“Don't worry, today will be the best. I promise you that.” He winked.“You're so full of yourself,” I mocked teasingly.“Eat up, gorgeous,” Rain said, grinning. “You’re going to need your strength. Today is my day, and I don't do ‘quiet’ like River, and you know it.”I took a bite of a pancake. I
