Chapter 8: Luna's Vengeance

“Did Lily's mother came back and helped me?” Princess Hana asked, it was the only reasonable thing she could think of.

“Who?” Luna Dianne was confuse, who was this lily her daughter was talking about?

“Ah... Nothing, maybe I'm just hallucinating” Princess Hana said shaking her head. Just seeing how her mother asked back only means one thing.

“Take some rest sweetie, don't overthink yourself too much. Everything will definitely come to pass. Just remember that whatever happens, we will always be here supporting you” Luna Dianne stated then kissed her forehead.

“Thanks Mom” She replied hugging her mother happily.

“Beta, summon this person named lily and her family” Luna Dianne ordered, her voice was cold.

Although she looked happy while talking to her daughter, she was only hiding her real thought. That was her daughter, her beloved one, how could she be happy seeing her suffer like that?

Luna Dianne sat on her throne next to Alpha Broderick's seat. She was currently in the pack’s royal room, the place where the Alpha and Luna judged those subjects who committed crime. It was also the place where they held meetings.

'This lily must know something' Luna Dianne thought as she waited patiently.

Beta Jack went outside and ordered the royal guard to fetch a person named lily and her family. He waited for several minutes before the guard came back with a little girl, a woman and a man who are shaking in fear.

“G-greetings B-beta” Lily's mother and father greeted stuttering, their face was full of sweat.

Lily on the other hand stared curiously at Beta Jack but didn't say anything. Her silence made her mother and father terrified as Beta Jack might get angry due to the lack of respect. They forcefully made her bow afraid of the consequences.

“Follow me” Beta Jack commanded indifferently, not minding their actions.

The three followed after him and arrived at the majestic room, there are many seats from left to right and up in front is a staircase, leading to the throne where two seats could be seen with a big statue of a wolf behind it.

On one of the chairs, a beautiful lady was sitting majestically, her eyes fixated on them like two sharp daggers.

“Greetings Luna, the subjects that you asked to be summoned is here” Beta Jack reported respectfully.

Luna Dianne nodded her head and signaled Beta Jack to move to the side. Lily's mother and father quickly kneeled on the floor shaking in fear and their heads lowered, but Lily stood still staring at Luna Dianne in awe.

“You have a pure child, you must be proud of her?”

When the two heard her, their hearts couldn't help but beat faster. Even gulping their saliva was a very difficult job to do, “I-It's an honor to receive such praise your majesty”

“Alright, tell me your names” Luna Dianne commanded devoid of any emotion.

Lily's mother looked at her husband who was sweating profusely before answering, “My name is Rose and this is my husband Sebastian, this little one here is our daughter Lily”

“Omegas?”

“Y-yes”

“Omega Rose, I'm curious, where are you and your family a day ago?” Luna Dianne asked, her gaze focused on lily’s mother.

“W-we're in our house..” Rose replied, she know that if she tells her the truth, it will be their end. That day, she recognized the person who helped her daughter get the kite from the tall tree. It was the wolf less princess that everyone was avoiding.

Because of the ancestral teaching, everyone believed that the princess was a cursed being, a person that they have to avoid. If they get in contact with her, their family will be cursed with misfortune.

And today, Luna Dianne suddenly summoned them. Rose know the reason why and become afraid. She swore to deny everything, if she didn't, they'll be severely punished for sure.

Today was her first time encountering this kind of situation. She know that what she did a day ago was wrong, but what can she do? Past is past after all.

Luna Dianne smiled faintly at her answer, “I won't be beating around the bush. Tell me, why didn't you helped my daughter after she had fallen from the tall tree? Why did you just left her who was in need of your help?”

Rose and her husband paled, they both trembled uncontrollably at the Luna’s bold statement. She hastily stood up from her kneeled position and said in denial. “You're wrong! We didn't left the house, we didn't even met or seen the princess a day ago!”

“Insolence! How dare you talk to the Luna like that!” Beta Jack shouted loudly, his figure mysteriously appeared in front of Rose in an instant. Without any warning, he slapped her in the face and was thrown away by the force.

“Honey!”

“Mother!”

Sebastian and Lily shouted in shock before running over to her side. Tears are falling from their eyes, it was tears of anger, sadness, and regret.

Rose face which was slapped by Beta Jack got swollen, thanks to Beta Jack holding back or else she must've been a corpse by now.

“You better show respect to the Luna or your life will end here”

Sebastian gritted his teeth, he was greatly enraged by what Beta Jack did. Rose was his wife, his reverse scale, how could he let anyone slapped her just like that? He clenched his fist tightly, thinking of fighting against Beta Jack, but his wife stopped him.

“Your majesty, I apologize for what my wife just did” Sebastian apologized, holding back his anger. He then kowtowed to the ground, “What my wife said was the truth, we really didn't leave our house that day”

Luna Dianne frowned, pondering that her suspicion was wrong. Then her eyes caught sight of the kite resting on the side, it was the kite reported that her daughter was holding while unconscious on the ground.

“Lily, is that kite yours?”

Rose and Sebastian looked at where the Luna was pointing. When they saw the kite resting in the corner, both their eyes constricted.
