The saying "never judge a book by its cover" has never felt more true. Many would take one look at Kwen and only see her age or believe because she smiles, that her life has always been good. My heart literally broke for my little alpha. My wolf, Calm, whimpered out for her, as Kio rumbled underneath with rage. Kwen has been through so much, and it looks as if that was only the beginning. All eyes swung my way, as Kwen finished up. I sat up and took a deep breath in.

"My name is Elijah Summitt. My parents and I come from the States. We are a part of the Borderlands pack. We stay up north in the heartland. My aunt was originally from there as well. We have been top warriors there for generations, and it wasn't until recently that I found out about my true heritage, sorta like Kwen. About a week ago, this strange feeling took over me and suddenly, my eyes glowed the very color it does when Halo is present. At the same time, the book my father holds, began to glow as well."

  • I was never Human   What are you?

King Marcus's POV:Back in the states: In the Royal Kingdom...My shoes clacked on the marble floors, as I made my way to the throne room. I was meeting with an old acquaintance that I haven't seen for some time. It took about a week before I was able to reach her. She hasn't shown her face here since the tragedy that happened years ago. She's been haunted by what she had to do for the safety of others. In that protection, she had to break her own heart. I kept her appearance, quiet, to only those who needed to know. My beta, Andrew and commander, Barrett, stood beside my throne on either side of me, awaiting my presence. I nodded to the both of them and they bowed in respect. I sat on my throne and waited for the woman to show up."How long has it been?"Andrew asked, standing to my right."48 years, give or take."I said, sadden at the reality."Damn. And she stayed away all this time?"Barrett questioned. I nodded."She couldn't live with the guilt. She exiled herself. My grandfath

I didn't know how I should feel about any of this. On one hand, I felt like my life kept unraveling, so anyone with any information that could potentially help me figure it out, was a welcome change. On the other hand, I felt like I was prying into my grandma's life without her permission. We talk about a lot of things. Her mother, was never one of them. My curiosity definitely got the better of me. We all sat waiting for her to tell her story. She took a deep breath in."I never thought I would be speaking to one of the great grandchildren of Loren. I haven't seen your grandmother since she was removed from our pack and sent to live at the royal Kingdom. By that time, I was already mated to my mate and had children as well. I was a little homesick and decided to visit my parents and siblings. Risenmoon pack is the most known for their Chosens. It was during that visit where I learned of what happened. I'm not too sure of your knowledge of history on your father's side, especially con

I could do nothing but stare at the lady. It unnerved me that my body reacted the way it did to her. It's never done that.'Relax, Kwen. I know her.''Listen here, Halo. You got a lot of shit going on with you and I don't like it.'I said into my subconscious as I spoke with Halo. She chuckled and came forward and our consciousness blended.I felt myself smile."Of all the people I wasn't expecting to see, YOU are definitely not one I would've expected to come across."Halo said. The lady across from us smiled. I knew she was blind, but it felt as if she could see us or see right through us."You know me... I'm always keeping you on your toes."She said. The lady and Halo both chuckled. The lady bowed in reverence."It's an honor to be in your presence once more, alpha."The lady said. "The honor is all mine, Divine."Halo said, and right after that, both wolves fell back as us humans came forward. I looked at all the new people as they stared at me in awe. I sighed out."You all see

Flashback: 67 years ago...I was so excited for my 17th birthday that was just around the corner. I know my family and I'm sure they'll be planning something amazing for me. Nigel seems pretty excited, too. But he refuses to tell me what my family has planned. Nigel and I have been dating for a year now, and I can definitely say I love him. My family seems to really like him as well. Since I come from a family of Chosens, it can be pretty hard to determine whether someone likes you for you, or the your ability to become a Chosen and your future children. It's seen as a great honor. People say that I'm lucky to not have that to worry about, considering I've never developed any silver hair. It was an oddity since almost everyone in my mother's line developed the silver hair trait. Celene had a few children: 2 girls and 1 son. The son was the youngest child. The second born daughter was the one that would come to develop her mother's silver hair. She apparently had a really cool look to

  • I was never Human   None for me

I watched as Ava and Adona walked into their home. I've always hated being here. It never fails to feel as if I'm in enemy territory. I used to believe I was paranoid with them being witches and all, and the history of our people being against witches. Now, I truly believe my body picked up on something I couldn't consciously identify. The Clove witches are very dangerous. My dad and I stayed outside, as they continued on."It seems she has gotten more brazen with time."Dad said. I rolled my eyes."You have no idea. I think the power she has is beginning to get to her."My father turned to me with a frown."What do you mean by that? The old witch never mentioned Ava having some great power."My eyes widened."Well, she does. I don't know if Adona is aware of all the power she possess or if the amount of power she truly has is yet to be realized by her family. But she's really powerful."My dad frowned, looking to be deep in thought."I knew she wasn't mediocre. She would've had to be
