Liya's POV

I woke up to the housekeeper rearranging the room and dusting the table.

Trexor was not on the bed. I recalled the event from last night.

Trexor had looked up wondering what was up with me but I'd been so terrified to my bones to even speak.

I just mumbled that I was scared of the dark and he chuckled and went back to sleep.

“You're doing pretty nice”, I said as I sat up and reached out to gather my hair over my shoulder.

“Thank you ma'am”.

“You have very dark circles around your eyes, when did you last sleep well?”

I asked in a very polite manner.

“Oh-I have not slept well in like five days.”

“Why is that?”

“I have been helping the Beta prepare for the mating ceremony coming up soon.”

My heart skipped when I heard the last part.

“A mating ceremony is coming up?”

“Yes. The mating ceremony is due in ten blood moons.”

“Ohhh. I was not aware.”

“The Alpha should have told you maybe it skipped his mind.”

Maybe…or maybe he purposely did not tell me because I am not his fated mate.

I swallowed hard and became anxious.

“ I see”, I replied, braiding my hair.

“Did I offend you ma'am?”

“Not at all. I suppose I'm not invited most likely because I am human.”

The house keeper cleared her throat and stared at her feet.

“I do not know ma'am. The alpha adores you”.

“How do you know he loves me so much?”

She shifted her weight from one foot to another and glanced at me.

“ He saved you from ending up like the other humans he captured. He is protecting you in the pack den. He makes sure you have enough to eat and the finest outfit hanging in your closet. The way he looks at you, everything is just pointing to the fact that he is in love with you.”

Hearing all of her explanations made me blush very hard.

“Have you seen any Alpha that mated with a human? I mean you have worked here for years and I just came in”

She scratched her chin and thought for a moment before replying me.

“Not really, every Luna I know about comes from the Busters Reign Pack.”

“That name sounds familiar. I think I have seen it in one of the books while digging up werewolf history.”

“You must have. That is a famous pack from across the world where Lunas are chosen from.”

“But why?”

“I do not know. That is just how it has always been but the Alpha might want to bend some rules for you.”

“I hope he does.”

I slouched into my hair and shut my eyes, hoping for the best while expecting the worst.

“He will.”

There was a brief pause.

“If I'm not intruding ma'am. I read somewhere that when an Alpha and a human mate, the human might develop some werewolf abilities because of how strong the blood of the Alpha is.”

“Hmmm, I have not heard that before. You seem to have been doing a whole lot of research.” I replied.

“Yes, I have been spending time in the library learning about the moon goddess ancient werewolf and human wars and-”

“You sound very curious and enthusiastic. May I ask why?”

“Well, I’m human”, she replied simply.

I raised a brow and looked at her.

“Wow, that is very interesting.”

Somehow I couldn't see it. Could it be that spending a lot of time with them somehow messed with our essence?

She nodded and I stared past the window, lost in my thoughts.

“ I think I'm in love with the Alpha. I love the way he looks, the way he talks, everything about him just infatuated me.”

“You have fallen really hard for him.”

“Yeah. Before I met him, I was in an abusive relationship with my stupid high school ex boyfriend where I was used.”

“That must have been tough ma'am. From my perspective, being Luna would suit you and humans at large.”

I smiled widely, my mind imagining what the mating night would be like.

I have lusted over the Alpha's body for so long and I could barely wait anymore for our skins to be intertwined and to fulfil my fantasies.

“I also want to help our people-the humans that have been used by the Werewolves as slaves.”

“That is a long stretch. The humans being under the Werewolves has always been what maintained balance in the cycle. The President has tried many times to give us some sort of equity but no werewolf cares about him.”

“When I become Luna, I would use the power of love and romance that the Alpha has for me to make things right.”

“Hopefully, you will succeed."

“Yeah. Well, I have to let you go now. Thank you for your time.”

“No problem,my Luna. I'd run your bath already”

Luna Liya, sounds intriguing.

She left me and I quickly freshened up, putting on a gold gown and tying my hair up in a tight bun.

I stared at myself in the mirror, admiring my long hair, adorned curves and my beautiful smile.

“The Alpha would be crazy not to make me his Luna.”

I moved out of the room and headed to the Alpha's study area.

On the way I admired the paintings and art along the hallway and hanging on the walls.

The wolves surely did love art. Why were they always portrayed as nothing but beastly and with no soul. Their human side shone through too.

“Well, we meet again”.

I looked up to meet the gaze of a man who looked pretty familiar.

The man from last night!

“You”

He bowed slightly, “Yes me. Still basking in your present glory I see”.

I frowned, “What are you still doing here?”

He gasped, “My word”.

I said nothing, instead folded my arms across my chest and glared at him.

“By the way you look lovely, he's treating you well”.

“Who are you and what do you want?”

“Let's start from the beginning, shall we? I'm no enemy”.

He stretched out his hand and after a while of consideration, I placed mine in his.

He wasn't exactly ugly, he was good looking, with the type of confidence and cockiness women were attracted to.

He took my hand and raised it to his lips.

I felt the aura in the room change, like something big had just filled the room.

“President Shakur. What are you doing with my woman?”

AlphaLiya’s POVI clutched my hand back into his, this time tighter so he would not pull out.He did, nodding at someone across the table. He has been doing this all night.Taking my hands out from his embrace, especially when we were around other female werewolves.I mean we were partners for the night, we had to act like one.I did not read much meaning into it but now that we were all seated on a round dining table, eating and chatting, I put pieces of the night together. He had been getting distant from time to time with me. Intentionally.“Would the Alpha like another bottle of wine?”The waiter asked us, his face brightened up by a smile.I could tell he was human, with the way his face looked. It was more tender. The humans were practically made to serve werewolves.“No-“I cut the Alpha off before he could complete his sentence.“Y-yes. He means yes. Bring in more wine. We dine and wine till the last wolf growls.”I said to the waiter and he nodded, wandering off.“Why did yo

Liya's POVNone of the stories that humans were told about were myths.Infact, everything looked more graphical in real life, from the hollow walls that had silver chandeliers and very dimmed out lights to the wooden carved antiques mirrors and tables. There was low jazz music playing in the background, and the female werewolf outfits were blinding my eyes. They were all dressed like they were ready to kill and their gowns glittered all over the room.I could not get my eyes off how stunning they were and I was mesmerised by how eloquently they talked, walked and interacted with the male Werewolves.Alpha Trexor had invited me to their gala. It felt surreal.“If you stare at them for that long, they would know you are human.”My heart jumped when I heard a voice from behind me and a hand landed on my shoulder.I turned around immediately with my hands to my heart. The face in front of me looked very familiar but I could not remember where I had seen it before.“How do you know I-”“Oh

Alpha Trexor's POVShe was the most beautiful human I have ever seen.Okay, maybe the second most beautiful but she was very attractive. From the moment our eyes locked together, I felt different. For the first time in my life, I felt butterflies in my stomach.I saw her at her most vulnerable and my mind could not stop thinking about her which was weird because I wasn't supposed to be attracted to a human. They were weaklings and no Alpha in his right sense would want his Luna to be an normal human. But there was something about Liya. The way her face was flushed beautifully from panic and nervousness, the way her hair laid back even after she was running for hours and the way she pleaded with dense water in her eyes, like she would sacrifice anything and everything for me.I was not going to let her end up like the other humans on the field, working for the wolves, I wanted to keep her as mine. Not someone special, just a play thing for the meantime.Suddenly I heard the seer’s wo
