Liya's POV

None of the stories that humans were told about were myths.

Infact, everything looked more graphical in real life, from the hollow walls that had silver chandeliers and very dimmed out lights to the wooden carved antiques mirrors and tables.

There was low jazz music playing in the background, and the female werewolf outfits were blinding my eyes.

They were all dressed like they were ready to kill and their gowns glittered all over the room.

I could not get my eyes off how stunning they were and I was mesmerised by how eloquently they talked, walked and interacted with the male Werewolves.

Alpha Trexor had invited me to their gala. It felt surreal.

“If you stare at them for that long, they would know you are human.”

My heart jumped when I heard a voice from behind me and a hand landed on my shoulder.

I turned around immediately with my hands to my heart.

The face in front of me looked very familiar but I could not remember where I had seen it before.

“How do you know I-”

“Oh no you shouldn't.” He said with a small smile and took a sip from his drink.

It was not adding up.

“I am sorry, am I supposed to know you from anywhere?”

I asked in a low tone as to not to trigger him.

I caught a wide glimpse of his physical appearance and he looked attractive but not like werewolf.

“Well I'd be damned if you don't know who I am”

“I don't”, I replied quietly but defiantly.

“You know, I would have thought that maybe the Alpha had sucked parts of your brain but werewolves are not vampires.”

I blinked, confused at first but then my brows curved into a frown.

I cleared my throat, attempting to divert the conversation.

“I'm a bit overwhelmed”

“Why? You should be feel lucky and not overwhelmed.”

“Why?”

“I mean it is not everyday that the Alpha of a pack takes in a young female human as his Luna.”

“I am not his Luna-yet. I am just his Partner.”

“Partner? Damn. That is a weak word. Maybe you are not as lucky as I thought.”

My mind frazzled. He was speaking in puzzles and I was having a hard time putting pieces together.

“How do you mean and if I may ask, why are you so concerned about my business?” I asked him with a straight face so he would know how serious the conversation was getting on my end.

Like jeez who was this man

I scanned the hall, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Alpha or that stinkhead that had me captured.

I was trying to remember his name, Alpha Trexor had called him Omega B….

“Look around, do you see any werewolf looking young or as naive as you?”

I swallowed hard and turned, scanning the room again, and he was right. Every wolf in the room looked older.

“No.”

“Good, I think I should address you as Young human?” He asked with a raised brow, his gaze fixed on me.

“Do you see me as a child?”

“Not just a child but as someone that the Alpha would never make Luna.”

My heart dropped, something inside of me felt triggered and I refused to accept whatever he just said.

I snapped at him.

“Bullshit. He saved me from ending up like other humans and he took me into his den, he made me food, gave me expensive outfits and he-he kissed me.”

I shut my mouth immediately, silently berating myself for being stupid.

“Did he mate with you?”

I shook my head.

“No, not really. It is not mating season yet, is it?”

“Alphas mate at any and every season, Liya. It does not matter. He does not love you enough to make you his wife.”

His eyes shot darts into mine, and my entire being shook.

I blocked my mind from thinking of the worst possibilities.

We were both attracted to each other at first sight and I was not going to be told otherwise.

“Because I am young?”

“The age gap might be much but that might be the secondary issue. It is mostly because you are human.”

“Who told you that Werewolves do not fall in love and mate with humans.”

“It has never been heard of, Liya. I'm right, aren't I?”

“And what if the Alpha wants to break that chain?”

My pitch was getting higher, irritation filled my face and my blood had started boiling from anger.

“I have known this Alpha before you were born, Liya. I have shown up to multiple werewolf parties with the intention to get them to give Humans a fair right in the world but the Alpha swears that over his dead body would he allow that.”

“Love is a strong and intense feeling that can turn things around, and I do not appreciate how pessimistic you have been.”

“Pessimistic? Nah I am just looking out for you. I do not want your heart broken by the Alpha.”

Hearing those sentences gave me PTSD. I suddenly remembered how my high school boyfriend broke up with me and left my heart in shambles.

I remembered every tear that left my eyes, every role he accused me of and every promise he broke.

“The Alpha is sensible and knows what he wants. He is older than I am-like you said and I believe that he loves and accepts me.”

I replied, turning around and walking away briskly before he would reply me.

He called after me.

“I am only interested in you, Liya, because you might be the saviour we all need. He might get a soft spot with you and you might influence him to change his mind. There is a possibility”.

I stopped in my tracks.

“Hmm…”

I bit my lip and thought for a second.

“Yes, think about it. And act wisely”.

He chuckled, “You're running out of time”.

I rubbed my chin lightly, temporarily lost in my thoughts. Then somehow it clicked, something he'd said.

If you stare at them for that long, they would know you are human.

How could he have known, if he was a wolf I'd have noticed. He had the scent and soul of a human - we were able to feel it as humans.

Then the only human who would party with wolves….

Oh shit!

I turned around abruptly. He was gone.

  • I was not my alpha fated mate   Chapter five _ Pre Mating season-part one

Liya's POVI woke up to the housekeeper rearranging the room and dusting the table.Trexor was not on the bed. I recalled the event from last night.Trexor had looked up wondering what was up with me but I'd been so terrified to my bones to even speak.I just mumbled that I was scared of the dark and he chuckled and went back to sleep.“You're doing pretty nice”, I said as I sat up and reached out to gather my hair over my shoulder.“Thank you ma'am”.“You have very dark circles around your eyes, when did you last sleep well?”I asked in a very polite manner.“Oh-I have not slept well in like five days.”“Why is that?”“I have been helping the Beta prepare for the mating ceremony coming up soon.”My heart skipped when I heard the last part.“A mating ceremony is coming up?”“Yes. The mating ceremony is due in ten blood moons.”“Ohhh. I was not aware.”“The Alpha should have told you maybe it skipped his mind.”Maybe…or maybe he purposely did not tell me because I am not his fated mate

AlphaLiya’s POVI clutched my hand back into his, this time tighter so he would not pull out.He did, nodding at someone across the table. He has been doing this all night.Taking my hands out from his embrace, especially when we were around other female werewolves.I mean we were partners for the night, we had to act like one.I did not read much meaning into it but now that we were all seated on a round dining table, eating and chatting, I put pieces of the night together. He had been getting distant from time to time with me. Intentionally.“Would the Alpha like another bottle of wine?”The waiter asked us, his face brightened up by a smile.I could tell he was human, with the way his face looked. It was more tender. The humans were practically made to serve werewolves.“No-“I cut the Alpha off before he could complete his sentence.“Y-yes. He means yes. Bring in more wine. We dine and wine till the last wolf growls.”I said to the waiter and he nodded, wandering off.“Why did yo

Alpha Trexor's POVShe was the most beautiful human I have ever seen.Okay, maybe the second most beautiful but she was very attractive. From the moment our eyes locked together, I felt different. For the first time in my life, I felt butterflies in my stomach.I saw her at her most vulnerable and my mind could not stop thinking about her which was weird because I wasn't supposed to be attracted to a human. They were weaklings and no Alpha in his right sense would want his Luna to be an normal human. But there was something about Liya. The way her face was flushed beautifully from panic and nervousness, the way her hair laid back even after she was running for hours and the way she pleaded with dense water in her eyes, like she would sacrifice anything and everything for me.I was not going to let her end up like the other humans on the field, working for the wolves, I wanted to keep her as mine. Not someone special, just a play thing for the meantime.Suddenly I heard the seer’s wo

Liya's POVRun Liya, run!!“I can perceive traces of her human scent from the back of the oak tree over there. Go!”I heard one of the wolves growl out from my hiding spot and my heart sank into my stomach. My hands were shaking and it was difficult for me to control my heaving.I took out the perfume from my bag with shaky hands and sprayed it on my skin, hoping it would mask my scent.I could hear the sounds of wolves racing towards me blasting my ears. This wasn't what I'd hoped for today. This wasn't it.I ran as fast as I could, heaving and hearing my heart pounding beneath me.It'd been a lovely evening, I'd decided to go out and have a drink all by myself. This was two weeks and two days since that asshole broke up with me.And I just needed peace, clarity. I'd remembered seeing this man with a weird aura walk into the pub. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on its end, and immediately I knew something was wrong. We had eye contact once and I downed my drink, grabbed my bag
