LOGINHe chose his Luna. He cast her out. He humiliated her in front of his entire pack. And still she could not stop loving him. But there's a difference between loving someone and belonging to them. Liya knew that difference better than anyone. The question is does he? Liya Gommers was human in a wolf's world; captured, protected, and foolish enough to believe that the Alpha's softness towards her meant something. It didn't. On the day he stood at the mating point with his fated Luna on his arm and declared her his before the entire pack, Liya learned the most painful truth of her life, she was never his. She was never even close. But while Liya was busy surviving a broken heart, nobody was watching the other Luna. Nobody except her. Helenda didn't come to the Thrasher's pack to love their Alpha. She came to destroy everything he built and she was willing to burn every wolf in the pack to the ground to do it. Liya has the proof. The Alpha won't listen. And time is running out.

Run Liya, run!!
“I can perceive traces of her human scent from the back of the oak tree over there. Go!”
I heard one of the wolves growl out from my hiding spot and my heart sank into my stomach.
My hands were shaking and it was difficult for me to control my heaving.
I took out the perfume from my bag with shaky hands and sprayed it on my skin, hoping it would mask my scent.
I could hear the sounds of wolves racing towards me blasting my ears.
This wasn't what I'd hoped for today. This wasn't it.
I ran as fast as I could, heaving and hearing my heart pounding beneath me.
It'd been a lovely evening, I'd decided to go out and have a drink all by myself. This was two weeks and two days since that asshole broke up with me.
And I just needed peace, clarity. I'd remembered seeing this man with a weird aura walk into the pub. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on its end, and immediately I knew something was wrong.
We had eye contact once and I downed my drink, grabbed my bag and the next thing I was being chased down the empty street, running as fast as my brain willed my legs too.
If I could just get to the….
“Too late!”
I heard a werewolf yell from beside me and before I could reply, I felt claw like hands grab me from behind and my legs screeched on the hard floor of the road.
“Argh! Let go of me!”
I twisted my head to slip out of his grip but his grip held me tighter, I thought I heard the crushing sound of a bone and my skin getting numb from the force exerted on it.
I struggled for a few minutes, kicking and trying to fight him off but werewolves were unnecessarily stronger.
Humans were weaklings and even worse, I was a female human.
I gave up after fighting for a few more minutes, accepting my fate as the wolf dragged me through the muddy ground and towards the heart of the Thrasher’s wolf pack.
****
“I am back with the last human.”
The wolf that had been pulling me said, throwing me to the hard floor with a loud thud.
My head spinned, and my throat went dry.
I was still scared, my heart was pounding and my emotions were flushed away from my face.
It took me a few minutes to understand everything and as I slowly got up, my hands and fingers scraping the ground, my eyes opened wider, scanning the room I was in.
The place looked dark, but with pictures of the moon on the walls, there were antique chairs and tables scattered around and in front of me, sitting on a high seat mounted on a podium was a different looking werewolf.
The Alpha.
My instincts were never wrong but this time, I questioned it because this was not how I pictured the Alpha to look like.
The Alpha was only a myth that we humans were taught about in schools.
The picture that our teachers painted of Alphas was gruesome-we all believed that he had fur all over his face, dirty teeth, long untrimmed nails and the voice of a beast.
“How were you able to get her?”
The wolf that was seated on the podium asked the one that was standing beside me, in a calm voice.
“I used her scent to trace and catch her, Alpha.”
He called him Alpha.
I was right.
That was the Alpha seated on the podium seat but how did he look so handsome?
He had a muscular body but with long flowing curly brown hair and his face was defined with perfect eyes, nose and mouth. He also looked much older, definitely not in his twenties or thirties.
The room was dark but the little light shone on his appearance and I was immediately attracted to him.
I found myself staring at him from where I was, and the more I looked, the more his physical appearance excited me.
You've got to be kidding me. I was attracted to a wolf, the beast who'd captured me?
“Well, that is interesting and dumb of her. She did not try to mask her scent with another fragrance?”
The Alpha asked again, this time his voice sounded spiteful and I trembled harder.
“She did but it was in vain, her scent was significant and I could sniff it up even form a distance.”
The wolf who captured me replied and bowed his head at the Alpha.
“You did a good job, Bernard.”
“Thank you Alpha, do I take her to the field with the other humans?”
What field is he talking about?
My heart skipped a thousand beats and my hands started trembling again.
I have heard stories about how Werewolves treated humans and how humans never come back once they are captured.
I did not want to be a victim.
“Please, do not take me to the field.”
I raced to the podium and threw myself on the floor, bursting into tears.
There was silence and I sensed that the Alpha and Bernard were staring at me.
I screamed harder, using my hands to block my ears and I cried out for mercy, forgiveness or whatever leniency these wolves were willing to give me.
“Get up, human!”
Bernard lounged at me, pushing my face forward and grabbing my hand.
“Ouchhhh!”
I yelled in excruciating pain and pinched his hands while he dragged me to raise to my feet, forcing my head up.
We struggled for a while and the rude voice of the Alpha in front of us brought us to a halt.
“Let her be and leave her for me.”
“I am sorry, Alpha.”
Bernard let go of my hand, I fell to the ground and he turned to walk away.
I swallowed hard.
I hated Bernard but it was better if he was in the room with me and the Alpha.
Now, it was just me, standing in front of him with torn clothes, heavy breaths and a million expectations.
What if he kills me and uses me as his person dinner?
Nah werewolves hate human flesh. They feel like it weakens them.
A million questions ran through my mind as he stood up gently and moved towards me, grabbing my chin with his right hand and staring deep into my eyes.
I melted, both out of fear and this intense lust.
We were two feet apart and I had this sudden urge to lean forward and kiss his lips.
He inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly, biting the edge of his mouth and still maintaining eye contact with me.
“What is your name?”
He asked sternly, using his thumb to trace on my jaws.
I looked down subconsciously and he raised my head back to continue our eye contact.
“Li- My name is Liya.”
His fingers pressed into my cheeks and I whimpered in pain.
“Well, I am going to call you mine.”
Same, I find you attra…..
The words had barely left his mouth when something shifted. The dim room flooded with a cold silver light that had no source. His hair, brown a second ago turned gold from root to end like something was moving through it.
The walls trembled.
Trexor looked as shocked as I felt, his eyes searching the ceiling like he was waiting for something to speak.
I held my breath.
I had read about this once. In a book so old the pages had crumbled at the edges. I had dismissed it as mythology.
My eyes widened.
I knew what this was.
Liya's POVI woke up to the housekeeper rearranging the room and dusting the table.Trexor was not on the bed. I recalled the event from last night.Trexor had looked up wondering what was up with me but I'd been so terrified to my bones to even speak.I just mumbled that I was scared of the dark and he chuckled and went back to sleep.“You're doing pretty nice”, I said as I sat up and reached out to gather my hair over my shoulder.“Thank you ma'am”.“You have very dark circles around your eyes, when did you last sleep well?”I asked in a very polite manner.“Oh-I have not slept well in like five days.”“Why is that?”“I have been helping the Beta prepare for the mating ceremony coming up soon.”My heart skipped when I heard the last part.“A mating ceremony is coming up?”“Yes. The mating ceremony is due in ten blood moons.”“Ohhh. I was not aware.”“The Alpha should have told you maybe it skipped his mind.”Maybe…or maybe he purposely did not tell me because I am not his fated mate
AlphaLiya’s POVI clutched my hand back into his, this time tighter so he would not pull out.He did, nodding at someone across the table. He has been doing this all night.Taking my hands out from his embrace, especially when we were around other female werewolves.I mean we were partners for the night, we had to act like one.I did not read much meaning into it but now that we were all seated on a round dining table, eating and chatting, I put pieces of the night together. He had been getting distant from time to time with me. Intentionally.“Would the Alpha like another bottle of wine?”The waiter asked us, his face brightened up by a smile.I could tell he was human, with the way his face looked. It was more tender. The humans were practically made to serve werewolves.“No-“I cut the Alpha off before he could complete his sentence.“Y-yes. He means yes. Bring in more wine. We dine and wine till the last wolf growls.”I said to the waiter and he nodded, wandering off.“Why did yo
Liya's POVNone of the stories that humans were told about were myths.Infact, everything looked more graphical in real life, from the hollow walls that had silver chandeliers and very dimmed out lights to the wooden carved antiques mirrors and tables. There was low jazz music playing in the background, and the female werewolf outfits were blinding my eyes. They were all dressed like they were ready to kill and their gowns glittered all over the room.I could not get my eyes off how stunning they were and I was mesmerised by how eloquently they talked, walked and interacted with the male Werewolves.Alpha Trexor had invited me to their gala. It felt surreal.“If you stare at them for that long, they would know you are human.”My heart jumped when I heard a voice from behind me and a hand landed on my shoulder.I turned around immediately with my hands to my heart. The face in front of me looked very familiar but I could not remember where I had seen it before.“How do you know I-”“Oh
Alpha Trexor's POVShe was the most beautiful human I have ever seen.Okay, maybe the second most beautiful but she was very attractive. From the moment our eyes locked together, I felt different. For the first time in my life, I felt butterflies in my stomach.I saw her at her most vulnerable and my mind could not stop thinking about her which was weird because I wasn't supposed to be attracted to a human. They were weaklings and no Alpha in his right sense would want his Luna to be an normal human. But there was something about Liya. The way her face was flushed beautifully from panic and nervousness, the way her hair laid back even after she was running for hours and the way she pleaded with dense water in her eyes, like she would sacrifice anything and everything for me.I was not going to let her end up like the other humans on the field, working for the wolves, I wanted to keep her as mine. Not someone special, just a play thing for the meantime.Suddenly I heard the seer’s wo
