The Accident

Rosy started pondering over Lila's call and the message she conveyed. She was perplexed about whether Lila's apology was genuine or not. Rosy was certain that Lila had some knowledge about her parents' demise, which is why she had brought it up during their conversation. Rosy accept that she was the perpetrator behind her parents' death and that Lila had confronted her as a result of some instigation.

Rosy paced back and forth, trying to make sense of how Lila could have obtained such information and whether her apology was believable. After sometimes, Rosy came to the conclusion that if Lila had information about her parents' death, it meant that her apology was nothing but a ruse.

"Lila, you already know what you shouldn't know." Rosy sighed,

"Lila, I really want to take care of you has my own child and just to take control of your inheritance. But now that you have known what you should not have known, i have no choice"

She was convinced that Lila was up to something and would not remain calm as she pretended during their phone conversation.

Rosy decided to take action and called someone. After few rings the call gets pick up.

"I want you to do something for me" Rosy said to the person on the other side of the phone. She discuss something with the person and ends the call.

"Lila, don't blame me for what will happen to you," Rosy muttered.

Since Lila already coil up to Rosy in pretense, she believes Rosy will fall for her pretense, so she did not think too much about her action towards Rosy.

That night Lila has plan to meet with Eddy, his supposed fiance. Eddy has called Lila to meet him so they will have dinner together that evening.

Only they knew that they were having dinner that evening. After Lila discovered that Rosy wanted to marry her off to Eddy which is why Rosy introduce Eddy to her, she suspect that Rosy might have something to do with her parents' death, this suspicion led her to undertake a secret investigation, which revealed that Rosy was involved in the death of her parents.

Lila questioned Eddy's sincerity towards her. But since Eddy always profess his love for her and he seems so sincere, Lila thinks Eddy might really love her as he claim but she decides to double check that night before she knows if to deal with both Rosy and Eddy or Rosy alone after knowing what Rosy did to her parents.

Lila sang along with the car playlist as she headed to the restaurant where she have to meet with Eddy.

The atmosphere was peaceful and pleasant. Lila was feeling good after her conversation with Rosy about her parents' death. She knew that once she received her inheritance, she would get revenge on Rosy. With no rush or thought of time, she was enjoying herself while driving and singing along to music.

Abruptly, a van running at an uncontrollable speed appeared out of nowhere and crossed her path. Lila immediately maneuvered the car to avoid a collision, but she lost control and swerved onto the opposite road. She was unable to understand why the car was still in motion. She desperately tried to apply the brakes, but they failed.

"What's happening?" Lila repeated, becoming increasingly panicky while the car accelerated.

She did her best to divert the vehicle away from the road and towards something else to avoid hitting anyone, even if it meant injuring herself. However, her attempts were futile, and the car slammed into a lady standing nearby. Everything went dark and crashed.

After an unknown amount of time passed, Lila woke up in a hospital bed. Remembering everything that happened, she was disoriented and worried about the extent of her injuries, but a quick examination as she touch her body revealed only a bandage around her head.

"She's awake!" someone yelled outside of the ward. Lila was intrigued and wondered who could be shouting like that.

Soon, several people, including a woman in her fifties and two younger ladies, as well as a doctor, rushed in. They were all looking at Lila with clear concern.

"Cindy, can you see me?" The older woman asked with tears in her eyes.

"Cindy!" The two younger ladies also cried out. Lila was perplexed as she tried to decipher if they were referring to her.

"Miss Cindy," the doctor addressed Lila. She looked at them all, feeling bewildered as to why they were calling her Cindy. The doctor examined her body and eyes.

"How is Cindy, Doctor?" the older woman asked with evident distress.

"As I told you, it was shock," the doctor replied, trying to reassure her and the others.

"We just have to monitor her for a while", the doctor informed them before leaving.

"Cindy, can you recognize me?" The older woman affectionately held Lila's hand. The two young ladies were also staring at her with concern.

Lila looked at their confused faces but was unable to recognize any of them.

"Who are you?" she inquired. The woman and the ladies were taken aback by the question.

"I'm your mother, Cindy, and they are your sisters," the woman explained, looking more frightened than before.

In confusion, Lila frowned and showed no signs of recognizing the woman in front of her. She recalled being the only child of her deceased parents, who had passed away nine months ago.

"I'm sorry, but I don't know you," she whispered, looking bewildered. The woman and two ladies accompanying her were taken aback, and the woman hurriedly instructed the ladies to call a doctor.

The doctor arrived with the two ladies and asked the woman,

"What's happened?"

"I don't know what's happened to Cindy. Please help," the woman cried. One of the young ladies rushed to the doctor.

"Cindy doesn't recognize us," she said. The doctor looked flabbergasted and quickly moved closer to Lila.

Still In confusion, Lila tried to sit up but immediately clutched her head as her headache worsened. The young ladies rushed to her side and helped her get back to the bed.

"Miss Cindy," the doctor called out to Lila.

"Why do you keep calling me Cindy? And where is my aunt?" Lila asked softly, unable to comprehend the situation.

The doctor and the others exchanged perplexed glances, wondering what had happened to Cindy.

"Which aunt are you talking about? I'm your mother, and these are your siblings, Cindy," her mother lamented.

"I think she's suffering from amnesia," the doctor said with concern.

"We need to run some tests to be sure. I'll prepare the necessary equipment," the doctor added before leaving.

Lila couldn't understand why the doctor had suggested amnesia when she remembered everything that had happened to her. She knew she hadn't lost her memory. Cindy's mother and sisters looked at her with intense concern.

Following the examination, Lila was found to be physically okay. However, the doctor diagnosed her with temporary amnesia, speculating that with time, she would recover.

As Lila walked back to the ward with Cindy's mother and sisters trailing behind her, she saw her reflection in the hospital window. She froze in her tracks, utterly taken aback by what she saw.

"Who is this?" she asked, tentatively touching her face, fearing the worst.

When she saw someone else's face in the mirror, she couldn't believe it. It suddenly dawned on her why everyone had been referring to her as Cindy, and why they were so worried. Lila had failed to take their concerns seriously, hoping only to feel better before delving any further into conversations about her aunt and fiancé Eddy.

"What?!" Lila exclaimed in disbelief, repeatedly touching her face as she contemplated what had happened.

Confusion was written on her face. She couldn't comprehend why she was seeing someone else's face in the mirror.

She turned to Cindy's mother and sisters who were with her and asked.

"Where is aunt and Eddy?" She said staring at them. They exchanged worried glances, and that's when it struck her that they had been referring to her as Cindy.

"This is not happening to me. Someone must have done something to me! No!" Lila screamed and fainted.
