ăă°ă¤ăł"Andy!!"
I felt a tap on my shoulder, I opened my eyes groggily...the blinding lights from the opened curtains made me regret doing that. "What is it?" I asked, annoyance laced in my voice. "It's time to get up!" Lexis voice sounded close to me. Wait!! Why am I here? Looking around the room, I realized I was in Lexis room, I clearly remembered falling asleep on Alex's bed after being put there by someone I couldn't remember. No no, me and Alex we...we spent the night together yesterday, I remembered it clearly, I remembered how careful he was with me, how he looked at me... and lastly, I remembered how he told me he loves me. Just thinking about it, I could feel my heart beating fast. Rushing out of bed, I ran out of the room and stopped in front of his door. Without knocking, I pushed the door open but what I saw made my heart drop. My hand quivered on the door knob as the air left my lungs, stolen by the sight before me. My knees threatened to give way, the weight of it pressing down like the world itself was on my shoulders. A dull ache spread across my chest as I struggled to breathe. My breath coming out in loud gasps. "Alex?!!" I called out, my eyes watery as tears threatened to drop but I held it back. On the bed lay Alex, sleeping soundly with Amelia snuggled in his arms. Dark obvious marks scattered across her neck, evidence of their passionate night together. I called his name again, my voice trembling, but he only groaned in his sleep, pulling her closer. I felt a sharp pain in my chest, as though my heart had been crushed without mercy. "What's going on?" Lexis voice sounded behind me, her head poking through my shoulder to get a clear view of the room. "Alex!!!" She shouted loudly, her face filled with shock. "What the fuck?" She cursed as she hurried into the room and stood at the end of the bed after turning on the light. Startled awake, Alex opened his eyes, blinking as though trying to adjust to the light in the room. His gaze shifted around before landing on me. Frowning, he stared at his arms and his eyes widened in shock as he saw who he was holding. Shoving her away hurriedly, her stood up from the bed, only wearing a sweatpant, the same one I saw him wearing yesterday. "What's going on?" We all turned after hearing the soft voice asked, Amelia rubbed her eyes as she stared at us, her left hand tightly holding my hoodie. She was probably startled awake after being shoved to the side, but that doesn't matter right now. Still unable to make out a single word, I stared at the both of them quietly, bitting my lips to stop myself from breaking down in front of them. "Care to explain yourselves?" Lexis asked as she stared at them in resentment. âIâŚI was searching everywhere for Andy yesterday to give her back her hoodie, but I couldnât find her.â Lia hesitated, her voice trembled, she lowered her gaze as her fingers twisted together. âIt was chilly, so I just slipped it on. But when I walked past Alexâs room, he suddenly opened the door and pulled me inside. I didnât even know what was happening.â Her voice quivered. She swallowed, her eyes brimming with tears, "I tried to break free but I couldn't, he was obviously drunk...he didn't even know who I was." So... whatever happened between me and him last night wasn't real, it was all a dream. Alex stood there, unable to utter a single word. His gaze never leaving my face since he woke up. It felt like he was watching me, watching my every expression. "I didn't lay a hand on her!" He said suddenly, his voice cold and stern like he was so sure of himself. But all the evidence was there for us to see, it was as clear as day. "Don't you trust me?" He asked, staring at me deeply, his eyes pleading quietly. "I just...I want to go home" I said suddenly, turning on my heels and rushing out. "Andrea!!" I heard his voice calling out behind me, his footsteps sounding close to me as he got closer to where I was. Grabbing my arms, he turned me around to face him. "Trust me, I didn't touch her. Even if I was drunk I would never do something like that!" He said, cupping my cheeks with both his hands. "You don't have to explain anything to me!" I said quietly, my eyes avoiding his gaze. "PleaseâŚjust look at me." He begged, his voice bare with desperation. Swallowing hard, I shifted my gaze to his face, the tears I was trying so hard to hold finally dropped as I saw the way he was staring at me. His gaze was genuine but I couldn't just ignore what Amelia said, it couldn't just be a lie. She was in his bed, in his arms with hickeys scattered around her neck. "Say you believe me, please...!" He pleaded, his eyes searching mine...his hands moved to the back of my neck and my waist as he hugged me against his body. Forcing down the lump in my throat, I pushed him gently, "There's no use explaining to me, we're nothing to each other," I said, hurting myself with my own words. "Like you said, I'm just like a sister to you so..." I trailed, I didn't know what else to say. "No... don't say that please, you mean everything to me!" He tilted my head up, making me look at him but I didn't understand what he was trying to say. "I just need to get home...so let me go!" I slid his hands off my face and walked towards my car, leaving him standing in the quiet living room. The drive home was unbearable, I couldn't believe anything just yet. I knew nothing could go on between them and Alex wasn't the type to get drunk that easily. *** After taking a much needed shower, I stood in front of the mirror, my eyes as wide as a saucepan as I stared at my neck down to my chest. Purple marks was scattered all over my neck and chest, in places Alex kissed me in my dream. Was it really a dream? If it wasn't actually a dream Alex would've said something. Did I sleep with someone after getting drunk yesterday? Who was it? The marks weren't noticeable earlier because when I woke up I was wearing Lexi's jacket. I didn't know how or when I put it on and I didn't even have the energy to think about it. Everything that happened in the party yesterday was weird. Like how I got to Lexi's room without realising it or how Lia ended up in Alex's bed. But I decided not to think about last night because I'm never attending a party ever again. I'll put last night behind me and forget about it. Or so I thought.ANDREA Opening my eyes felt like lifting a mountain. Everything was blurry at first, bright lights shaping into white ceilings and pale walls. It took me a moment to understand where I wasâŚa hospital room. I frowned weakly. The last thing I remembered was collapsing by the side of the road. I didnât remember anyone finding me. I didnât even remember being brought here. My head throbbed as I slowly turned it to the side. That was when I noticed someone sitting on the chair next to the bed, their head resting on their folded arms. Sleeping, or maybe passed out from exhaustion. I blinked a few times, trying to focus. Messy hair. Shoulders slumped. A rough, unshaven beard covering a face I knew too well. Dark eye bags, like he hadnât slept in days. Alex. A small breath escaped me, shaky and confused. He looked nothing like the sharp and put together man I knew. He looked worn out, almost broken, like he had been fighting the world and loosing. He was right there beside meâŚlike he
ALEXANDER I drove like a man possessed, not slowing down for a second until I saw the bright lights of the hospital ahead. My heart was hammering so hard I could barely breathe. The moment I reached the entrance, I didnât even bother to park properly. I just threw the car door open and jumped out. The engine was still running when I sprinted through the sliding doors, my chest tight and my legs feeling like they could give out any second. âWhere is she?â I shouted at the nurse behind the counter. âAndrea Dale! They just brought her in!â The nurse looked startled, flipping through a few papers before answering quickly. âSheâs in the emergency room. Theyâre treating her right now...â I didnât wait for her to finish. I ran down the hall, my shoes pounding against the floor, following the signs that pointed toward the emergency ward. When I reached the door, I was about to push it open when a nurse stepped in front of me, holding out her hands. âSir, you canât go in there,â she said
ANDREA I pushed myself up slowly, my legs shaking under me. Every muscle in my body ached, but I knew I couldnât stay there. The thought of being found by them again sent a wave of panic through me. I had to move, even if I didnât know where I was going. The ground was cold and rough under my bare feet. Every step stung as small stones and twigs dug into my skin, but I kept going. I wrapped my arms around myself, shivering from both the cold and the fear crawling up my spine. The forest was silent except for the faint sound of crickets and the crunch of leaves under my feet. The air smelled damp, like rain and soil. Every shadow looked alive, every rustle made me flinch. I kept glancing over my shoulder, half expecting to see someone behind me. I didnât know which direction I was heading. I just walked, moving through the darkness with my heart pounding hard enough to echo in my chest. Sometimes I tripped over roots or stumbled into branches, scratching my arms, but I didnât s
ANDREA A sharp pain exploded through my stomach, knocking the air out of me. I gasped and curled up, clutching my side as tears burned my eyes. The pain was unbearable, spreading through my already bruised body like fire. I forced my eyes open, blinking through the blur of tears. My vision was hazy at first, but then I noticed someone, a small figure standing right in front of me. She wasnât one of the men Iâd seen before. This person was shorter, her build slimmer. She wore a black gown that clung to her frame and black heels that clicked lightly against the concrete floor. Her face was covered by a mask, hiding her features completely, but I could still feel her eyes on me. I tried to speak, but only a weak sound came out. My throat felt dry and raw, my voice barely a whisper. The woman didnât say a word. She just stood there, staring down at me like I was nothing. My heart pounded in fear. Who was she? Why was she here? I tried to crawl backward, but my body wouldn
ANDREA Opening my eyes groggily, I felt a banging pain in my head that made everything spin. My body ached all over, every muscle screaming with pain. For a few seconds, I couldnât even remember what had happened or where I was. The air smelled strange, damp and musty, like old walls and dust. When I tried to move, a sharp pain shot through my side and I gasped. My wrists burned where the ropes had rubbed my skin raw, and my stomach felt sore, each breath hurting more than the last. I blinked slowly, forcing my blurry vision to focus on my surroundings. This place looked different. Smaller. Darker. The floor was rough concrete and the walls were bare, with cracks running through them. There was no window this time, only a weak, flickering bulb hanging from the ceiling, giving off just enough light for me to see an old chair and a few broken boxes in one corner. That was when it hit me...they had moved me again. My heart started racing. I turned my head quickly, looking aroun
ALEXANDER I was in the hospital corridor, barking orders into my phone. My voice echoed through the hallway, sharp and rough from exhaustion. âSearch the entire area where they found her,â I said, pacing back and forth. âEvery corner, every house, every damn tree. I donât care how long it takes, just find something! Anything!â âYes, sir,â one of my men replied quickly before I hung up. I leaned against the wall, breathing heavily. My eyes burned from staying awake all night, but I didnât care. Andrea was still out there. That was all that mattered. Hours passed like days. The quiet hum of the hospital made the wait worse. Everyone looked drained. Lexi sat in the corner with her head in her hands. Andrew stood by the door, silent but tense. Mr. Dale kept muttering prayers under his breath. Then finally, the doctor came out and said softly, âSheâs awake now.â We all rushed in. Kate was sitting up weakly, her eyes swollen and her lips dry. The moment she saw us, she broke
