WICKED SEDUCTION CHAPTER 31

Robert was rendered speechless, but it didn't take him long to change his expression. In a split second, he stared daggers at me, and the way he looked at my neck, and I was worried he would strangle me to death. For a moment, I felt relieved that my father hired a new bodyguard who was probably lurking near us to save me anytime.

"Are you looking for the bodyguard? I'm sorry to disappoint you, Selena, but he's not here now and wouldn't be able to save you. Do you understand what I am trying to tell you?"

"Yes!" I replied, and without any warning, I ran towards the safety of my room. When I heard him call my name again, my hands shook in fear.

When I looked behind my shoulders, I saw him move a little, and as he got closer to me, I became so nervous and almost peed on my clothes. I pointed my finger at him and warned him incessantly not to come closer, but he merely grinned as if there was something funny going on.

"Stop where you are right now!" I shouted at him.

"Selena, what's wrong with you? Wait, do you think I might kill you?" He asked, and then he burst out laughing when he probably noticed how scared I was. "To kill you? Whoa, you make me look like a bad person," he said while acting it was painful for him.

"You are a bad person, Robert," I said.

"I can see that you still have your wild imagination. However, did it ever occur to you that the reason why I'm doing this is that I want to be closer to you? Did it ever occur to you that I might be interested in your physically?"

"If you are imagining some lewd actions involving me, Robert, you better think again because I will never allow it to happen," I set him straight.

"I am good in bed, Selena, or maybe, even better than the father of your child," he proclaimed.

"I would prefer to remain celibate for the rest of my life rather than sleep in the same bed as you," I informed him about my preference, and he was shocked.

"That's quite a harsh thing to say to your future spouse," he replied.

"Spouse? In your dreams, Robert!"

"We'll see about that," he answered before he walked away from me.

I waited until he was out of my sight before I secured myself inside the bedroom and stayed all day long. I even requested to eat my dinner in my room, much to the chagrin of my father. Indeed, he wouldn't expect me to dine at the same table with the blasted man!

The following day, I have decided to stop tormenting myself and let my business suffer the consequences of my poor choices. I returned to work, and the staff's warm welcome of my comeback meant a lot to me. To celebrate my first day in the office after a long vacation, I ordered Keira to arrange food delivery.

When I entered my office, the ambience felt different. I knew it would cost me some money to upgrade my office for a fresh look, but I had to do it! Otherwise, memories with Lee would keep on haunting me while at work.

Since I was away for several days, the first thing I did was check my inbox. I read the previous emails to catch up, and when I learned that something significant had happened last week, I felt terrible about it. It was irresponsible of me to take an extended break while my staff had difficulty dealing with an angry customer. Fortunately, the person who temporarily managed my business was knowledgeable. Nevertheless, I shouldn't do it again!

After reading the important emails, I reviewed the requests for payments to our contractors. After checking everything, I signed the request vouchers and forwarded them to the clerk for check preparation.

While I had my favourite coffee, flashbacks of my relationship with him appeared before my eyes, and I had to focus on keeping from being overwhelmed with emotions. The pizza was delivered thirty minutes later, and Keira gave me two slices together with the hot sauce. As I took a bite of the pizza, I couldn't control myself from thinking about Lee…again!

It dawned on me that I could ask him to come back to me because of my pregnancy, but it wouldn't be fair to another woman. Besides, I couldn't dare to take him away when he's probably having a good time with Katherine. I knew myself better than anyone else, and Lee would indeed have more difficulty dealing with me than with Katherine.

"Excuse me, Miss."

"What is it, Keira?"

"Someone's looking for you at the reception area," he replied.

"I'll be there in a minute," I said and hurried to check who was looking for me, and my anger issues couldn't handle Robert's smiling face at the reception area.

"Hi Selena, just dropping by to check if you're doing okay," he said.

When he dared to grin at me, I rolled my eyes at him and immediately informed the man to follow me into the office. "Why did you come here?" I inquired.

"How are you doing today, sweetheart?"

"Are you crazy?" I screamed at him for being so impossible! "What a humiliating tadpole you are!" For the second time, I raised my voice at the bastard, and he didn't even blink when I rolled my eyes at him, and he didn't seem to mind at all. "You must be so desperate to put up with my insults, Robert."

"That, and some other reasons, sweetie," he said, and I hissed at him when he continued to refer to me as his lover.

The nerve!

"So, why did you come here?"

"I'm bored, and I miss you," he replied.

"You are a businessman, Robert! Surely, you won't be bored in running your empire unless the business is not doing well."

"If you are curious about my company, why don't you check our website? Anyway, one of my reasons for coming here is to take you out for lunch."

"Take me for lunch? In that outfit?"

"What's wrong with my outfit, dear? Do I have to wear a tuxedo if I want to eat in a restaurant?"

"I'm not saying that you have to wear a coat and tie to dine out, but at least, wear something decent! Besides, it would be best if you had taken a shower before coming here," I said as I wrinkled my nose to ignore his one of a kind smell. "You dare to come up here without washing your hair!"

"Sooner or later, you will get used to it, sweetheart," he replied, and I wasn't sure if he was kidding or not.

"My God, Robert! What's wrong with you?" I shouted at him when I couldn't stop the foul odor from his body to enter my sensitive nose.

"Have you noticed that you are rude right now?" He questioned my reaction, and I could only gape at him in horror.

"Rude? How can you say that when you come here unannounced and unclean?"
