Ghosting in Cell Number 56

It has been three weeks since Doctor Morgan's detention and everything in his life was altered with just a blink of an eye. He was not used to the dusty wall and rusty grill surrounding him. It was a new world he never expect to enter. He almost lost his normal weight from 55 kilos to 45, he had not eaten well for the past weeks though Angelic never forget to send her healthy foods, he would not eat them, instead he would give it to the other detainees.

One rainy night, he was feeling uncomfortable on his bed, there were rats under it making little noise which sounds irritating. He opened the light to check the underneath portion of his bed, the light flickered on and off. He thought that there was something wrong with the electric line so he turned the light off and returned to his bed. He gently closed his eyes and a cold breeze of the wind blown inside his cell, suddenly, the wall clock hung on the wall dropped and made a shocking sound. He opened the light again to see what happened, the clock was already broken yet functioning still. The hand pointed 3:00 a.m., he picked the wall clock and placed it beside his bed. When he was about to return lying, the light flicker once again. This time, he heard a chuckling sound of a little girl, followed by some little footsteps running around his cell. The light continued to flicker, and this time, it was totally off and darkness covered the whole quarter. Doctor Morgan was holding his breath, he could still hear the sound of the little girl, but this time, she was no longer laughing. All he can hear was the sound of a kid crying for help.

"Help me... I just want to play but he killed me."

The voice of the little girl sounds familiar, Doctor Morgan was in fear that moment, but he tried to keep calm despite the creepy scenario. He tried to looked around but he can see nothing but the blinding darkness, he heard the voice of the kid, chuckling, laughing and crying out for help.

"Help me... I just want to play but he killed me."

"Who killed you?"

"Mentris... Mentris.... He will come to kill you Doctor Morgan!"

The voice of the kid had disappeared and the light returned on. Doctor Morgan was still stuck in that moment. He just can not believe what he had just heard. He slapped his face to know if he was just dreaming. But he was not, what he had heard exists in reality. And he was certain that it was Anika's voice.

He could never be wrong, he would never forget the innocent and playful voice of the little patient in room 106. One day before Anika Foster died, it was Doctor Morgan who monitored her since his father was out to buy some important thing and her mom was on a meeting, so nobody was left to look over her. And it was Doctor Morgan's vacant time, so he decided to stay with Anika for awhile. They played her favourite doll and they laughed the whole time. So how could he ever forget the voice of that kid? He thought that Anika was  really asking for help. But how and where he would start if the grill surrounding him had stopped his whole world from moving.
