“Rebecca,” His soft, low voice in worry fell in her ears. Looking back, she looked at Christian with her sad eyes, but he was only looking at the way down in front of him from where Hazel had disappeared to her room side.

There was a deep inner concern in his voice and restlessness hidden in the dreary sadness in his eyes. Perhaps he had realized that he should not have shouted at Hazel like that.
