Samantha was on her way to the police station to press charges of attempted murder when she received a call from Kingston Morgan. He told her that his sister had passed away. She parked her car by the road and cried uncontrollably.

The Morgan family was like a family to her. They took her out of the orphanage, sponsored her education, and the Morgan Group hired her as part of its legal team.

Samantha wiped her face and pulled herself together, and then she drove to the police station. She pressed murder charges against Daniel Green and his mistress, Patricia Sullivan.

She didn’t leave the police station; she sat on the bench and waited for the culprit to arrive. While she was waiting, Detective Blade approached her and asked, “Who wronged you, Miss Mitchell?” Then he hugged her tightly.

Before Samantha responded, Detective Blade invited her to his office. Samantha told him briefly of what had happened, and she said, “Please investigate this matter thoroughly for me, Detective Blade.”

Then she forwarded the voice recording to him. After Detective Blade listened to the voice recording, he promised to leave no stone unturned to find the truth.

Detective Blade escorted Samantha to the parking lot, then he got in his car and drove to the Green Group.

When Detective Blade arrived at the Green Group, he walked to the reception area and said, “Good day, my name is Detective Blade. I am looking for CEO Green’s Secretary.”

The receptionist dialed Secretary Gordon and said, “Sir, Detective Blade is here to see you.” Secretary Gordon told her that he was on his way.

A few minutes later, Secretary Gordon walked towards Detective Blade and said, “Good day, Detective Blade, let’s go to the small boardroom to talk.” Then, Secretary Gordon led him to the second floor.

Secretary Gordon looked at Detective Blade and asked, “How may I help you, Sir?”

Detective Blade placed the voice recorder on the table and replied, “Thank you for seeing me at such short notice. I am investigating the incident that happened in your boss’s office.

Secretary Gordon, what is the relationship between CEO Green and Miss Sullivan?”

Secretary Gordon was hesitant, but he decided to speak the truth and replied, “Miss Sullivan was CEO Green’s first love. He appointed her as his secretary six months ago. He also bought her an apartment in Ballito.”

Then, Secretary Gordon wrote the apartment’s address on a piece of paper and handed it to Detective Blade. Secretary Gordon didn’t like Miss Sullivan because she always bullied the employees.

Detective Blade took the piece of paper, then he asked, “Why did you refuse to open your boss's office when Miss Stanton asked you to?”

Secretary Gordon replied, “CEO Green instructed me not to open his office door no matter what. Hence, I refused. I didn’t know that Mrs Green was in the office, lying in the pool of blood.”

Detective Blade asked Secretary Gordon not to allow anyone in CEO Green’s office until further notice. He thanked Secretary Gordon for his cooperation, then he left the Green Group.

In the meantime, at His Wings restaurant, Daniel looked at his lover and said, “Patricia, please finish eating. Should we delay, my wife might lose her life.” Daniel was so scared. He regretted leaving his bleeding wife locked in the office.

At that moment, two police officers approached them and said, “Mr Daniel Green, Miss Patricia Sullivan, you are under arrest for murdering Mrs Ursula Green. You left Mrs Ursula Green injured and bleeding in the office and fled the scene.

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have a right to legal representation.” Then they handcuffed them, and they were escorted to the police van.

Daniel couldn’t believe his ears when he heard the charges. His mind went blank. His life was over. The Morgan family would not let him off.

Patricia was so scared that she nearly peed herself. How could the police find Ursula’s body so soon?

When the police officers arrived at the police station, Daniel and Patricia were taken to separate interrogation rooms to take their statements.

Detective Blade went to Chief Smith’s office to discuss Mrs Green’s murder case. Chief Smith indicated that the suspects had been apprehended and asked him to interrogate them.

A few minutes later, Detective Blade walked to Daniel’s interrogation room. He introduced himself, then he said, “CEO Green, you have the right to consult your lawyer should you wish.”

Daniel looked at Detective Blade and replied, “I want to have my lawyer present when you question me.”

Detective Blade nodded his head and replied, “Please contact your lawyer, CEO Green. I will come back later.” Then the police officer took Daniel into police custody.

Daniel took his phone and dialed his lawyer, Miss Olivia Swiss’s number. When it was connected, he said, “Hello, Miss Swiss. Please come to Sandton Police Station to post bail for me.” Then he hung up.

Miss Swiss was so shocked to hear that CEO Green had been arrested. She dropped everything and rushed to the Sandton Police Station. Olivia was one of the Morgan Group’s elite criminal lawyers.

Kingston sent a team of lawyers to the Green Group to help his brother-in-law, and Olivia was one of them.

When Olivia Swiss arrived in the police station parking lot, she met her friend, Samantha Mitchell, who was standing beside her car in deep thought.

Olivia hugged Samantha tightly, with a huge smile on her face, and asked, “Have the Morgan family asked you to post bail for their son-in-law?”

Samantha looked at Olivia with red and puffy eyes, then she shook her head and replied, “Daniel and his mistress killed Ursula, Olivia. Mr Kingston asked me to press murder charges against Daniel Green and his lover.”

Olivia’s eyes were wide in disbelief. She shook her head and said, “Stop spouting nonsense, Samantha. CEO Daniel loved his wife so dearly. He will never hurt her.”

Samantha didn’t want to waste her time with Olivia. She just forwarded the voice recording to her friend, then she got into her car and drove away.

After Olivia listened to the voice recording, she nearly fainted with anger. She approached the police officer and requested to see CEO Daniel Green. She was ushered into the interrogation room.

A few minutes later, Daniel was escorted to the interrogation room. He sat on the chair and said, “Please post a bail for me, Olivia.”

Olivia looked at Daniel for a long time and asked, “CEO Green, why did you kill Miss Ursula?”

Then he wrote, “My lawyer, Mr Marsh, indicated that the evidence was watertight and there was no error.”A faint smile played on Gia’s lips, and she said, “Mr Jungle’s senior lawyer mentioned that as well. However, everything under the sun has a price tag, Mr Pearson. If our legal team fails to find a loophole, we will fight to amend the sentence by appealing the 'without parole' clause. With the right strategy, your daughter could serve as little as twelve years before being eligible for release.”When Mr Pearson learned that there was a possibility of his beloved daughter serving only half her sentence, a profound s

Mrs Pearson looked at her husband, sadness in her eyes, and she asked, “Hubby, do you want me to call our family lawyer to help us with the appeal?”Before Mr Pearson could respond, Gerry Marsh walked into the private ward carrying a fruit basket. He greeted the couple with respect, and then he handed the fruit basket to Mrs Pearson.Mrs Pearson smiled brightly and said, “Thank you, Gerry. I was about to call you regarding my daughter, Zara’s sentence. We feel that Judge Cronje was too harsh. So, we want to appeal.”Gerry shook his head and replied, “I beg to differ, Mrs Pearson. Judge Cronje acted with impartiality. Zara had planned the crime from the start, and the sentence of life imprisonment is legally sound. Also, at no point during the proceedings did Zara demonstrate any remorse for the life she had stolen. I believe Judge Cronje considered that factor before he handed down the sentencing.I am sorry, Mr and Mrs Pearson. The trial was airtight, and we don’t have grounds for an
