LUKEI woke up to sun beaming on my face. I rolled to my back and opened one eye. The sun was certainly brighter today. I blink my eyes to adjust to light.I was feeling fan-fucking-tastic. I was out almost instantly. I slept even better than the first night with Alexi.Speaking of my sexy red head.I reach my arm out and the bed is cold. I raise my head and look at the spot Alexi is supposed to be in. She's not there. I look around the room and call out to the bathroom. "Alexi?"No answer. I sit up. She wouldn't. I pull the sheets off and pull on my jeans. I swing the door to the room open and rush into the hallway.I'm practically running down the stairs and find Gavin on his phone with a coffee on the couch."Hey, you seen Alexi?" I ask. I'm breathless and in a panic.Gavin chuckles at the sight of my worried face. "Yeah, dude. She's out back in the garden."I breathe a sigh of relief. Leaning back. "Thanks."I step to the back of the house. Past the game room and the training room
ALEXI Training with Luke is so therapeutic. I feel more at home here as the days go by. It also helps that since I have proved I can hold my own, the relationships with the others in the house seemed to have improved. I don't feel like such an outcast. Though, I do try to not bring up my father around them as much as possible. I've gotten close to some. Like Evan, for instance. I've almost taken him under my wing sort of speak since Luke seems to want to shield him from the world. He idolizes Luke, I found out. He wants to be like him, but Luke's always so busy, he never gets time with him. "Well, that won't do at all." I say to Evan. After he completed his errands for the morning. He shrugs. "The Alpha has a lot on his plate. I learn what I can. Eventually, I'll get to a spot where I'm part of it more." He smiled. "What about sparring?" I ask. "Luke loves to spar. You could train with him. That'll break the ice." Evan smiles. "I train, but I'm not allowed to spar with the guys.
LUKEIt's all fun and games before life gets in the way.I had almost forgot why Alexi was even here. To protect her from the Dragons before the trial. In order to prepare, we had to have a meeting. We waited on Bastian to show up at the packhouse.Alexi paced back and forth, chewing on her fingernail.I'm sitting at the large conference table. My eyes following her. "Alexi, sit.""I can't. I'm too nervous." She paces more."It'll be fine. We're just going over the game plan for the trial." I lean on the table."I know. I have to testify against my friends, Luke. This isn't sitting well in my stomach." She holds herself as she paces.I walk around the table and stop her in her tracks. "I know its shit, but it's a condition of your freedom. Once your cleared, my pack won't have anything to say about you. It's what we want, isn't it?""Yes, but it still hurts. I grew up with most of these people, Luke." She looks at me with worry in her eyes."I know, baby. Just try to calm down. We are
LUKEI scream into the night as I stare at the driveway entrance. I'm still on my knees with my arms flopped to my sides. What I tried to prevent, happened anyway. I couldn't protect Alexi. Now, she's in the hands of the Dragons. If I don't get her back soon, they're going to break her and I could lose her for good.Bobby walked up to me as I continued to stare at the road. "We'll get her back, but we're gonna need help. Those guys didn't look Lycan." He looked down on me.Not breaking my gaze from the road, I rise slowly to my feet. "No. They were Dragons.""Who was that guy?" He put his hands in his pockets."Torrent's First Commander and Alexis ex-lover. He's getting the Dragons back together and by the sounds of it, he's making Alexi his Luna." I turn my head to him. "I've got to get her back. This is could ruin her."Bobby nods. "We will, but like I said. We'll need help."I realize that if we're going to save Alexi, I can't let the alliance know she's in the hands of the Dragons
ALEXIWe drove for hours. No one would tell me where we were going. Nash just went on about how our rule will be great.I wasn't listening as I watch the scenery past the window. My eyes go wide. I recognize this road.I haven't been here in over a year.I sit up in my seat looking out the car window. "I'm home." My eyes wander all over."Yes, you are princess. Welcome home." I turn to Nash beside me. He's grinning.I don't know what to think. I missed home, but now that I know the secrets it possessed, it's bittersweet. We slowly enter the outskirts of the grand city my father ruled over.Homes black. Boarded. Falling apart. Children once played in these streets. Now they're reduced to rubble. Results of a war between the Dragons and the Alliance.I put my hand on the window. My people did not deserve the punishment they received for my father's greed."Hundreds died. Many more escaped with barely their lives." Nash says solemnly. "But with us as rulers we will rebuild everything.""
ALEXIAfter professing my acceptance to Nash, I was waited on hand and foot. She wolves doted on me getting ready the 'big night' they say, giggling like school girls.I internally vomit with every comment. As they brush my hair and tell me how much the Alpha will love me, I mentally prepare myself for what will be the most disgusting night of my life.True, I used to seek comfort in Nash before. But Luke ruined me for all men. I'll never feel arms like his again. I'll never soften to their touch quite the same. I'll never quiver at the feel of their lips. Nash's touch feels void of all feeling. There is no spark. No life. It fills me with nothing. My body will always cry for Luke's warmth. The electric wave of emotion that courses through my veins at his kiss. I'll never again see lights dance before my eyes as his power and strength consumes my core.If he should see me again, I'll be ashamed. Ashamed I allowed myself to be defiled in this way. The disappointment Luke will feel when
LUKE"ALEXI! YOU SON OF A BITCH!!" I scream.Nash jumps the railing, shifting to his white wolf during the fall to the grass below.I throw my guns to the floor, jumping straight into the air and clearing the railing of the balcony with an Alpha growl. Shredding my clothes as my extremely pissed off brown wolf lands on his paws on the ground right behind him.My wolf bounces quick, back into the air onto Nash's back.Nash spins, snarling and growling. He's biting at everything he can. My wolf tears at him. His head shaking with red hot fury when his jaws clamp on Nash's wolfs fur.Nash kicks me off and tries to run, but my wolf jaws grab his rear leg and throw him across the lawn. He recovers quickly and leaps at me.On hind legs, we clash. Fiercely biting at each other's heads. Teeth, drool and growls are thrown out viciously. Both of us have murder on the brain. Mines amplified when I hear Gavin over the mind link."She's not breathing!""Get the medics here now!" Bobby yells throug
ALEXIMy recovery was slow. I still had numbness in my spine, but each passing day I was feeling more normal.Luke filled in the details of the rescue. It sounded heroic and very dangerous. I slightly scolded him for such a bold effort."One of these days, Alpha, you're going to be too careless." I wag my finger at him. We're sitting in the common room. Luke has been doting on me since I woke up. He hands me a tea and wraps a blanket around my legs."I knew what I was doing. These dogs have more muscle than brains. It was easy." He smirks."Right. It sounded like a war." I laugh."It was a war. I'd fight a thousand guys to get you back." He sat back on the couch. "I almost killed everyone here because I had to wait for their slow asses....""Whatever...." Bobby came in from the dining hall. "If we let you go you would've gotten yourself killed." He sank into the couch across from us.Gavin walked in from his office. "Bastian's on the phone." He handed Luke his cellphone.Luke shakes h
