Chapter 3: The Eir Once
“I do, I do want a child.” I instantly answered my question when I saw a mother pushing a stroller with a baby in it to her house. It was my neighbor who was twenty-five years old and I’m twenty-nine. Time flew faster than it usually does and Hell showed up with paper bags. “Are you ready?” I looked out of my window and the sky had turned orange. It’s time. “Yeah.” “Don’t worry, this is easier than killing.” I never needed her help but now, “I was thinking, what if the guy I want would refuse to do it?” “That is why you are a witch, you know what to do.” Oh, yeah. She was right, I could easily order them to do what I say. I watched her prepare things excitedly with a dog smile on her face. “Can we think about it first?” She dropped her eyeliner and looked at me. “What if I did get pregnant but it will die before I could give birth?” “Then let’s hope for the best. I wonder, why do you suddenly want a baby?” I didn’t know how to answer her. “Are you dying?” I glared at her, why would she think about that? I walked out of the room while walking in the hallway with plain walls around. These were filled with pictures back then, pictures of me and my baby brother. But he left and chose a girl over me, his family. I heard he has two little children. Why did I suddenly want a child? ‘I’m curious what do children do to make you happy, what does it like to have a child?’ “Miss Zilla, Karen has words for you.” My butler suddenly came and brought a girl with her. “Didn’t I tell you, I am not accepting any visitor, Gale.” “Miss, she said it was important.” She said and bow her head. “Miss Zilla, our coven needs you. We are facing a huge problem, Lady Fion personally requests your presence.” She handed me an envelope which I only stared at. It floated in front of me and opened itself. “Dear Miss Zilla,It has been years since we have spoken. I wish you are doing well, I won’t be lying our coven is in great danger. Vampires have been sending us threats and giving us signs that they are planning to attack us. Our people need you, I am looking forward to your response, I wish to see you soon, we miss you.“Regards, Lady Fion.”The fake soft voice of the head of my coven before came from that envelope. After the message, the paper returned to the envelope and drop on the floor. I pointed it and it flared up.“What clan?” I asked her.“Eir Once, Miss Zilla.” I walked back to my room and found Hella looking at her face in the mirror. “Should we go now?” She asked but I threw her a knife which she easily caught. “What is this for?” “I need to teach someone a lesson first.” I opened my vault where I kept my wand. I have mastered spells without this but half of my power was in this wand. The last time I used this, I wiped a pack of werewolves, now I would be wiping a clan of vampires. “The who? And why do we need to do this now?”She dropped the knife on the table. “Lady Fion asked my help and we’ll be wiping a clan of vampires tonight.” I saw her place her hand on her waist and raised an eyebrow. “Since when did you start listening to that old lady?” I shrugged my shoulder and started changing my clothes. We left our coven because we want to enjoy ourselves here in the city. Not to mention our hatred towards that lady who saw nothing but our imperfections. “They asked nicely so why don’t we help them?” “Ha.ha.ha, funny. I really wonder what is with you. You don’t sound like you anymore. You are allergic of the word help.” I couldn’t deny it. She knew me for decades. “I want something new.” I saw her face soften and walk toward me. She held my hands and looked at me with her most worried expression. “You stopped killing long ago, what is going on, tell me.” “I don’t know! Okay? I don’t know. I just feel lonely and feeling heavy. I want something that I don’t know. Maybe because I am alone, despite all the things I could buy, luxury things, and billions of money, I have nothing but you.” I snatched my hands away from her and sat on my chair. “Is this about my plan, flying out of the country? Should I cancel it and stay here?” “No! Of course not. Do what you want and I’ll do what I want. Let’s cut this drama. It’s not that bad to be a mother. This is what I want, but before anything else, I’ll fix this.” “Are you sure?” “I need to make sure that I really want to change my life,” she pulled a tight smile and nodded. “I understand, you want a change, something new.” I nodded and she suddenly jumped on me and gave me a bone-cracking hug. “We are still the bad witches, right?” “I want a change but I won’t be changing myself. Get off, you’re ruining my outfit!” “I see.” We choose to visit the Eir’ Once Mansion. No doubt they knew we were here but they let us in. We park in front of their gate. Through the gate, I couldn’t stop myself from admiring their old mansion. It was made of real grey stone, not gravel that we used in modern houses. Their front garden seem like a graveyard, that atmosphere was nerve-racking and screaming with danger. If werewolves were weak when there was no moon, vampires were stronger with or without. Daylight was their fatal time. This would be two against five. The irritating sound of Hella’s shoes was the only sound that could be heard around while she was walking to the gate. “DING! DONG!” I didn’t where she got the nerve to hit the doorbell. “What’s his name?” She whispered at me when they could easily hear us. We saw a man walking to the gate in a gray shirt and black pants that came with a warm smile. He was white as paper with bloody red lips, I saw him simply lick it and went glisten. Peter Eir Once, the leader of the clan. He looked in his thirties but his hundreds of years old. The woods around here was making the atmosphere more dangerous, everywhere was dark and closed with huge trees. “Hi, Mr. Eir Once. I am Hella Winx and this is my friend Zilla Wicca.” Her signature flirty voice seemed out of place. “Nice to see you, Miss. What can I do for you?” His baritone voice paired with an angelic smile was deceiving. “Lady Fion send us here to settle some things we would love to speak with you. I heard there was a bit of a misunderstanding between our coven and your clan. I hope we could talk about it and settle things.” She said straight and I didn’t have the chance to react, she revealed our agenda that quick and I couldn’t believe she call herself a good fighter. “With those weapons, not going to happen.” He’s a little diplomat, I see. But those eyes I could feel watching me weren’t thinking the same. “Oh! Well, we can drop everything here.” And she dropped her knife and gun on the ground even pins on her hair. When she said all, she mean it. So I started dropping all my weapons too except my wand. “Well then, talk now and I’ll listen.” He had no plans of letting us in so I smiled. “Can’t we talk about it inside? It’s kinda cold out here.” Hella said with a smile. “Or we can talk in my car.” She quickly suggested while rubbing her arms. “We can talk about it inside.” He said and opened his gate wide to let us in. My eyes wander all over the place, once we entered the main door a gigantic chandelier caught my attention. I had a chandelier too but I didn’t expect modern things inside like his flat screen television and computer in the corner. It seemed out of place, my gaze fell on the huge antic clock. The clock with the noisy swaying thing and numbers were written in roman numerals. “My friend like your house.” I heard her say so I turned to her but I met an intense stare from Peter. “Yeah, I love it.” The gigantic stair was bigger than mine. Why did I call it a mansion when this was a castle? I walked towards the stair but he appeared before I could take a step up. “This way, Miss.” I looked at the couch he was talking about but I wanted to go upstairs. “I know, you and Hella can talk about it,” I said and attempted to walk past him but his arm stopped me. I was amused he didn’t touch me yet. “I didn’t say you are allowed to go upstairs, Miss.” I never saw him blink while looking straight to mine. “Don’t touch that!” I turned to Hella who froze before she could touch a flower in a flower vase. I was about to slap his hands away but the gripped my wrist in just a blink. His speed was amusing and I didn’t stop my smile. “Wow.” But I snapped my finger and he froze. I smiled wider and took my wrist away from him. “Starts cleaning, Hella.” Using my hand, I smashed his neck and his head roll down the floor. Their speed was definitely making me envious, I suddenly felt someone touch my neck now I was pinned on the wall by another man, named Damian for sure. But I kicked away but held his hand so he flew with me and I spin in the air and smashed him to the floor. It created a few cracks but he was still alive he pulled me down and attempted to cage me between his legs but I got my wand and swished it pointing to his leg. “AHHHH!” He watched his leg torn from his body. I flicked it to his face and it crushed. I flick it to the girl coming but she easily dodged it. So it hit the wall and created a hole. But her arm suddenly fell soon her head fell too. ‘Wooh! That was crazy.” I saw Hella flick her wand all over the place. I was her, three down two to go. I thought she was shooting the wall randomly, but the truth was she was trying to hit the invisible lady. “AHH!” I suddenly felt pain inside me. My knees fell on the floor trying to fight the pain. “Zilla!”Chapter 37: In the RunDays passed but it was alarmingly peaceful. We were traveling happily; I was worried that we might have laid back and lowered our guard. My gut says we should be more careful but I didn’t want to cut the moment. It was a treasure for me to see my family this happy. While on the run, I felt something chasing us. I turned to Luem and he already noticed it. Kiel ran and moved to the planned formation. He had to run between me and Luem while carrying Zaya. The look on my daughter’s face was enough for me to know that she was scared and knew everything around her, even without us discussing it. I looked at Kiel and he nodded. I cast an illusion to confuse the pursuer. We did shake them off, but another troop was in the run too. We ran different ways at the same time. I cast another illusion to cover Kiel as he escapes and activate his camouflage. I was already alone and stopped when I had to recover my breath. Yet they were wise to attack me before I c
Chapter 36: The Fortress of Eternal Diamond “Your coven is very beautiful, mom.” We were standing on the terrace looking at the whole coven below us. “Indeed, my love.” “Why did you have to leave this place?” my little girl asked.“There are certain things a little brat like me could not handle back then and chose to run like a coward. I was a baby and did not realize that this place is worth fighting for.” I could lie flawlessly, but not to my daughter, who knew me well. “You were lost,” I smiled when she said that. “Maybe,” “And angry,” I nodded. “I can feel that there is something big coming, Mom.” I shouldn’t lie but I could not tell her either. “I’m scared.” “What do you mean?” “I can hear every footstep, the hush of the wind, the flow of the river, the drop of the water, even the flopping wings of the birds moving in a hurry. Dusk is coming this way too fast.” Shiver kissed my nerves by just listening to my daughter say things that shouldn’t be spoken by a chi
Chapter 35: A Scorching FightZille’s PovHe was killing ruthlessly by himself when I saw him fighting in the woods. He was not feeling it when I spoke to him afterward When my daughter came with Kiel from her hiding place, I hugged her. “How are you, my love? Are you hurt?” I asked and checked her all over. My little girl shook her head, and I was proud that she was okay. I looked at Kiel behind her who just crossed his arms. “I’m fine mom, Uncle Kiel was great at hiding.” She cheerfully answered. A few meters away, there was her father sulking like a baby. Like I would go after him. “We must find somewhere to stay, it’s getting dark,” I said, and she nodded. We started walking without asking Luem to come with us. Let him vent out his steams somewhere. I am not dealing with him. “Dad, let’s go.” My daughter called him. He quietly followed while Kiel was leading the way. It was already dark, and we could not find somewhere hidden. “We don’t have time to find a place, le
Chapter 34: Werewolves Ambush Zaya’s POVIt has been two days and my mother has not returned. My father was growing increasingly anxious, and I found it difficult to approach him. He would often stand with his arms crossed, gazing at the door, and would inquire about my well-being in a somber tone. His speech became sparse as he delved into profound contemplation. He never left after he knew Mom was not here. However, Uncle Kiel had been teaching me how to enhance my ability when Dad would zone out. Then he suddenly stood up from his seat and looked above us. Uncle Kiel seemed alarmed too. I focused on my ears, and I did hear footsteps. Fast, faint, and swift. Mom should fly on a broomstick. Then suddenly it went quiet. Dad looked at Uncle Kiel and Uncle picked me up. Enemies. I should fight too. Then, the door was pushed open. Dad jumped on the big wolf and rode on it. His hands were around its neck, and I heard its bones crack and then fall. Dad swiftly moved to anothe
Chapter 33: Silent Cries Zaya’s POV I watched my mother leave and close the door behind her. And I dropped the act of toughing it out. I glanced at Uncle Kiel who did not care at all. I slowly walked back to the room, “I want to sleep for more, Uncle Kiel.” I said and closed the door. As soon as I locked the door, tears started pooling around my eyes. What have I done? I don’t get it at all. My mom has suffered enough, my parents fought for me. Aunt Hella died, and I never heard from my family back on the farm. Why did we have to fight? Maybe we could just surrender, and I could die for everyone. I felt sad but I did not want to cry. Whenever Mom was not looking, I felt my knees weakening, and scared. I sat on the floor and hug knees. I should not be scared, I should not feel lonely, and Mom and Dad will make things better. Eventually, everything should be fine. I had to wipe my face again and again, but my tears were t
Chapter 32: Reclaimed Crown"Leave the Coven now," I whispered, and I heard no objection. I always wanted to fight her and defeat her. Only if I had defeated her sooner, I wouldn't be facing her now. Fighting her this time was different, I had nothing to lose before but now I have my daughter and she knows it."I knew that this day would come," I felt her presence behind me, but I chose to remain unmoved."Did you also know that this will be the end of your reign?""How bold," I felt her walk around me and stopped in front. She always had that confident smile, then crossed arms. "You know what, Zil. You are no different to me.""Sadly, yeah." Did she think I'd desperately deny that fact?"What is the point of defeating me?""Power." I could see her breathing heavily, despite the visible smile on her face I knew she wanted to crash me from where I stood."I cannot believe you think you can defeat me; you are not the strongest Wicca anymore. You married a Vampire.""Is that why you did
