Prank

Chapter 1- Prank

Third Person POV

She walks out of the huge building, she looks up at the sign on top of the last floor, and smiled happily. She turns around and sees people looking at her and she nods acknowledging them, they see this and get back to doing their business. She walks towards a Benz and presses the key, it jolts to life and she smiles. She adjusts her suit and trousers and releases her tied hair and it cascades on her shoulders down to her back. Then, she boards the car and drives away like an eagle in the air, just then, her phone rings and she looks at the caller. Her expression of happiness changes and a sour expression appears on her face. She ends the call and she smiles once again breathing in and out then she thinks,

‘I am in a happy mood, please allow me to keep it for a while. I don’t need any disturbance as it is, I bought a new company today.’

Her name is Shakira Kelvin a businesswoman and she has just opened her new company.

After a while, she arrives in front of a big building and she ties back her hair and alights the car. An older looking security man comes for the key and he greets shakily,

“Welcome mum.”

She doesn’t look in his way but she tosses the key into his hands and walks away. He looks at her back and he sighs and thinks,

“When will she ever be in a good mood? What have men done to this lady for her to always act cold towards us.”

He sees her greeting the receptionist with a smile on her face and walking away but as soon as she sights a man coming her way, her face becomes sour as if there was never a smile. He sighs and says to himself,

“It might be a very big sore which never heals and men all around her remind her of her bitterness. I understand you madam.”

A few minutes later, she sits at a cozy-looking desk in a huge room with books in three huge bookcases. In front of it is a big desk with seats beside it. Right at her back, is a flower in a ceramic pot and a sword hung on a nail, and beside it is a long gun also hung on a nail. She sits at her desk busily looking at some files until she hears a knock on the door.

She doesn’t look up but answers that the person should come in. A young lady dressed in a suit and skirt enters and she greets,

“Good afternoon mum, this is the report for today.”

She sits up and nods her head saying,

“Yes, go ahead.”

She starts mentioning numerous things then, she stops and looks at her face and sees it expressionless and so she moves on,

“Mum, once again there is a letter from the top hiring entertainment industry the highest there is that is the Camorra group of companies. How should I reply to them?”

She sighs and looks down and then looks up at the secretary, a hard glare appears on her face and she says through gritted teeth,

“How many times have I told you not to inform me about the letters from the entertainment industry? I will never use my body for anything rather than my mind. Have I not told you, miss?”

She nods her head several times suddenly feeling hot in the air-conditioned room. She tears the letter apart and says through her breath,

“It’s the largest and most competitive company, why will they be interested in madam when she only has the beauty and a bad temper?”

She breaths in again and again before continuing,

“Mum, there is another letter that has your name on it, it is written as Shakira Rosemond should I toss this away as well?”

She shakes her head and stretches her hand, she gives her the letter and she says to her in excitement,

“Mum, you were the top businesswoman this week as well. They have your picture on the front page of the magazine.”

She looks up at her and says calmly to her,

“Do you mind asking them to change the front page in an hour? Otherwise, I will sue them for infringing on my privacy. I don’t need this popularity to become the best. I am not a celebrity businesswoman, pleaseeee, let them know that and for the last time as well. Are we okay?”

She nods silently but quickly and turns than she leaves the room feeling sore. As soon as she arrives at her desk, she starts putting the letter she has torn together. She reads the words from the letter and she opens her mouth widely then she whispers to herself,

“How on earth can one refuse such an offer? People will kill to get this letter and it’s from the CEO himself? Should I inform mum about this? No, she will be with her glaring eyes. Kira, what at all does she want in life? She seems to have everything but nothing with the unhappiness drawn on her soul. I don’t think she needs to go into the entertainment industry that place is for fighters because of those backbiters and the public scrutinizing everything. This place is the best place for her, I should get back to work.”

Shakira works for a while and she opens her drawer to pick another file but she sees two more letters that have her name as the sender. She picks the other one that was given to her recently and is about to toss it inside the drawer but she stops and tears the lip of the envelope and says to herself,

“Let’s get bold, what is in here?”

She sees the content of the letter and she throws it away instantly and she says repeatedly,

“I am back, did you miss me?”

She picks the other letters and reads them and they have the same content. She tears them all apart and put them in her trash can. She closes her eyes and tilts her head backward and thinks,

“Who is this person that knows my full name and has copied my handwriting so perfectly? That person is dead as my family won’t play such a prank on me. This shouldn’t be a bother as it is a prank, it’s my birthday tomorrow so I shouldn’t spoil my mood further. I wonder what those brothers of mine are preparing this time.”
