His Mask

Chapter three- His Mask

Third-person POV

She looks at the performer dumbfounded by the singer who has a hat on and a mask on his face, he smiles in her way and she can see it from the way his eyes were shining in her way. Seconds later, she holds her chest as she feels her heart beating faster and her chest tightening. So she walks towards the performers and stands at the tip of the platform, she doesn’t stop there but walks forward.

No one seems to be paying attention to her as she walks absentmindedly to him, but the band was looking at her as well as the singer. When she gets closer to him, she lifts her hand to touch his mask then she tries to remove it. But he hurriedly holds her hand and they both look at each other shock drawn on their bodies but he quickly lets it go.

The audience feels the oddity in the air as the singer stops singing while the others play. They all stop dancing and look in the way of the performers to see her also on stage, some of them start to murmur about why she is on the platform

“Why is she over there? I thought she was unpleasable. ” says one of the ladies.

“I thought so too, the entertainment industry has been trying all means to get her signed under them but have not succeeded with every effort.” Another one adds on.

“But look at her now, she seems bewitched. Everyone falls in love with singer G, I guess she is not an exception. But she is rather bold to walk towards him to remove his mask.” Says the first speaker.

All they say doesn’t reach her ears rather she is in her world. The singer looks at her intently and finally asks,

“Are you alright mum?”

As soon as these words meet with her ears, she gasps and falls to the floor. The singer hurries to hold her in his arms and her brothers rush from the crowd towards her. They take her from his arms and the younger one questions him,

“What did you do to her? Why has she passed out.”

He looks at them and shakes his head dumbfounded. He rather gets up and walks away from the stage with his head hanging toward the floor. The other performers get up and follow him out and one of them walks to them and says to them,

“We are sorry for what happened, please this is our contact. Let us know if anything happens to her, we will take responsibility.”

The young man takes the card and tears it into two then he curses at him,

“We should not have hired you, we thought you were the best but look at what happened? Get out of my sight.”

The older one tries to wake her up to no avail so he looks at the worried performer and says to him,

“Your performance was great, I think it’s a problem for my sister. She is not usually like this, since she is not waking up, I will take her to the hospital, she will be okay so don’t worry about your head. My brother is only been paranoid, don’t take his words seriously.”

The young man glares at his brother and says under his breath,

“Who is been paranoid? Which of us is giving a speech instead of taking our sister to the hospital?”

He picks her up and makes his way out of the club. The people around look at her as they go out and one of them says to the other,

“Who would have thought that she hated men because she will collapse when she comes in contact with them. ”

Then another one quips in,

“If that was the case, why will she foolishly walk towards singer G and even touch him? It might not be the reason for her to collapse.”

The other one covers her mouth and asks in a low tone,

“Could it be that she is rather pregnant? Wow, that will be great news for the year. The ever-known virgin spinster is pregnant.”

They arrive at the hospital and she is given a bed. And she is treated but her eyes aren’t open and they wait by the door when they see one of the band members come their way. He whispers into her elder brother’s ear, he looks at his younger brother and asks him to go and see the doctor to know if there were medicines that they needed to purchase. He agrees but looks at the two suspiciously, as soon as he turns the corner, the masked singer appears and the elder brother stops him when he is about to enter the hospital room and says to him,

“I don’t know why my sister collapsed in front of you. But I am also curious as to why you are the first man she has approached in ages, I believe you might be able to heal her psychological problems. So I will give you a chance tonight to take care of her and let’s see what will happen.”

He nods his head and is about to enter but he stops him again and inquiries,

“What is your name singer G?”

He smiles and replies,

“Just call me Greg, and please do keep it a secret. ”

He nods and says to him,

“I understand, it seems you are a secret yourself. Why all the secrecy? You have not committed any crimes have you?”

He doesn’t speak rather he nods and walks towards the room, this time, he doesn’t stop him.

After the long sentences, he allows him to enter the room, he walks toward her slowly and he looks down at the sleeping beauty. He is about to remove his mask but he sees her stir in her sleep so he stops and walks closer to her. She opens her eyes and stares right at him, he looks down at her and says to her,

“You are mine for tonight spinster Kira.”

“Then, you will be my boyfriend, I am no spinster.”
