CHAPTER SEVEN

Chantelle's POV

“Oh my God! Sam!” I exclaimed and drew him into a hug.

“How long has it been?” He smelt faintly of caramel.

He replied casually, “Ten years, six months, and twelve days… I think.”

I laughed, “What the hell is that?”

Sam laughed heartily.

“I've missed you, my little pumpkin.” He pinched my cheek lightly.

“Don't call me that. I never liked it when you called me that.”

“I know. I know. I was just teasing you.” He hesitated before asking, “So… are you back for good?”

“Not sure yet. I want to continue my painting like when I was in college but I don't want to bring it up to Father. He'll have a fit.” I demonstrated with angry scowl.

“Ah… Mr Miller. We haven't spoken much since you left. Is he here with you?” Sam asked, looking around.

My left eyebrow shot up.

“Do you think I'd be here if it wasn't for him?”

Sam smiled.

Sam used to be my best friend but we had had a little falling out before I traveled for schooling in Europe.
