CHAPTER SIX

LESLEY

I slowly opened my eyes a few seconds after the spark, looking around wondering what kind of spark was powerful enough to throw me that far away, and then who was this girl?

I stood up from the ground and dusted my body, while feeling embarrassed at myself that I let myself be thrown that hard. I was supposed to be one of the most powerful and most feared alpha around. But then I tried to console myself with the fact that it came unexpectedly.

Just as I was about going my way, I thought a little about the strange she wolf, I thought it would be unfair leaving her there alone, and most importantly, I was curious. I needed to know more about her, and why the spark.

I remembered her telling me she was homeless, then I considered the possibilities of inviting her to my pack.

She was unconscious when I walked up to where she was lying, I found it a bit strange. Especially since I was about accusing her for what happened.

"Hey!" I whispered hovering over her, but her eyes stayed tightly shut.

She woke up when I tapped her gently on the arm. The confusion was very visible on her face as she looked around.

"What do you think about going with me to my pack?" She shrugged for a bit.

"I am very sure you do not want to be a target of rogues in this forest." I added intentionally to make the environment more tense.

"And how are you sure I am not a rogue myself?" She questioned suddenly standing up.

It was not hard to notice that she was a strong she wolf, the thought of that made me want her in my pack even more.

"Because you do not look like one." I said smiling.

I made sure to avoid talking about the spark with her all through the conversation even though I was a bit serious about what she had in mind concerning the spark.

After much persuasion, she eventually agreed to follow me to the pack.

As we walked back to the pack, I kept asking her questions about her background and why she ended up in the forest.

"Well there was a little misunderstanding at my pack, and I was thrown out."

"Just like that?" I demanded.

She nodded and looked away. She seemed to be cautious while sharing the informations I demanded for.

I wanted to trust her, but I had reasons to believe that she was shady, but I was determined to unravel the mystery surrounding her.

By the time we arrived at the pack house, it was already past midnight but there were still a few werewolves awake, especially the guards who were placed on the borders. They ran to me the moment they saw me.

"Alpha Lesley." They chorused and bowed to me. "We captured some rogues wandering around the pack's borders."

"Where are they now?" I questioned.

"They have been sent to the dungeon. And from the look of things, they are spies from one of our enemies."

"Good job." I said. "They should remain in the dungeon, I will go to them by dawn and make them confess who sent them."

They bowed to me once again while viciously eyeing the she wolf with me.i believed I didn't need to explain anything to them.

"You can go back to your duty post now." I commanded.

I took the hand of the she wolf with me and led her to the guest room, I could see the bewildered look on her face as we walked towards the guest room.

"You are alpha Lesley? Like the alpha Lesley?" She enquired with wide eyes.

"Do you know me? And why do you look shocked?"

"I've heard so much about alpha Lesley, why did you not tell me initially?"

"Because you never asked." I smirked.

I could see that it was difficult for her to process that I was actually the alpha Lesley who is most feared by everyone.

And I also liked the fact that the discovery helped to shapen her mouth a little and made her more cautious around me.

"You must be really tired from all of the walking, rest!" I declared and was about walking out of the room, then I stopped at the door. "Or if you are not tired you can come with me, I want to go rogue hunting."

There was a moment of silence for a while before she finally looked up at me.

"I'm not tired." She stepped forward.

Brave. I thought as I studied her.

"So do you always go hunting for rogues at this odd hour?" She asked as she tried to meet up my pace, I was walking unusually faster.

"When I feel like my pack is being threatened." I answered.

"Oh! I see....." She suddenly paused.

"What?" I turned to her.

"Did you hear that?" She enquired.

"Hear what?" I asked a little bit too loudly.

"Shhhh!" She placed her index finger on my lips urging me to stay quiet, our eyes met for a bit and I stared long into her eyes.

For the first time since I saw her, I noticed her unique green eyes, her slightly parted lips found a way of drawing my attention to them and I found myself getting lost in them.

I got lost staring into her oval shaped face that I totally forgot about what she wanted to tell me. I suddenly found my hand encircling her waist gradually and I pulled her close to me till she almost touched my chest.

"It's almost here." She whispered.

"What is almost here?" My brows furrowed.

She about moving her lips to say something when something big, fast and strong ran into us.

I was going to fight back, but it was so fast for me that before I could even realize it, I was already thrown to the ground by it. It was really fast, and it seemed like this creature was determined to hurt me with the way he came at me with all of his strength.

I started trying to fight it off, with the help of the stranger, I was able to get it off me. But it still was not an easy job fighting of the animal because it was really very big and fast. In fact this was the first time I had such a hard time fighting anything at all, an animal or a werewolf.

After much combat, and a few injuries I was able to get the animal by its weak point and slit it's throat.

My claws and cloths were stained with blood by the time I was done.

"You see? It was not that hard a task to do, team work." I turned and beamed at the stranger, but much to my surprise she was nowhere to be found.

"Where are you?" I suddenly shouted.

And that was when I realized that I had not even asked for her name.

I started combing around the environment in search for her, fearing that something would have happened to her, but much to my greatest fear, she was nowhere around.
