BURNING JEALOUSY

CHAPTER NINE

Sara's POV

The rising sun hung high in the sky casting an orange glow over the Luna pack's territory.

I had just come out of my room, and was immediately welcomed by the beautiful sun. I had always loved the rising sunlight, it had a way of bringing back memories, sweet memories.

I smiled up at the sky as they soft wind blew my hair.

I thought about alpha Lesley. I had heard rumours last night that he returned with a she wolf from where he went to hunt for rogues. At first I had felt apprehensive about it, and then I had dismissed it not until this morning when I heard he had even gone out again with this she wolf and they were yet to return.

This made me feel like there was more to all of these.

And it brought a pang of pain that gnawed desperately at my heart.

And just like it had been perfectly timed. I was about walking over to the Alpha Lesley's chamber to have a look, to be sure if he was really out with another woman when I witnessed the most heartbreaking scene of my life.

I saw Alpha Lesley coming back into the pack house, he was not coming alone, but he had a she wolf with him. It was more heartbreaking because he carried her on his shoulder like she was a trophy he didn't want to lose. It appeared like she was injured but still, it felt like an eyesore seeing him with another woman like that.

I swallowed hard and clenched my fist at the sight of them as I stopped abruptly ony tracks, forgetting about where I was planning to go. But I went unnoticed since neither of them cared to look towards my direction. That alone increased the incessant gnawing in my heart.

I watched painfully as Alpha Lesley walked to the guest room which was just opposite my room with the she wolf still hanging on his shoulder.

At least even though he was helping her because she was injured, was that not enough help? Why going all the way to carry her into the guest room?

Who was she anyways?

Alpha Lesley has been more like a dictator since he ascended the throne of the pack, nobody dared questioned him or told him what to do.

I was certain that I was not the only one curious about the mysterious she wolf he came back with, but I was also certain about the fact that nobody would dare as who she was. Instead we would all pretend like we didn't see anything, and do whatever he said.

I kept pacing around outside of my room for what seemed like forever, minutes passed and they were still in there together.

I knew there was something going on with Alpha Lesley and the young she wolf who I had not gotten the chance to see her face.

After several long and excruciatingly painful minutes, I finally saw Alpha Lesley walk out of the room.

I had the desire to approach him, but then I had known Alpha Lesley long enough to know that there are times which should be considered a bad time to approach him, and this is one of those. So I stayed still but kept my eyes on him.

I saw him giving instructions to one of the nurses who works in the pack's hospital, but I could not hear what he spoke to her about because I was pretty to far away from then.

Not until when I saw the same maid walking towards the guest room with a first aid kit.

Yes, the she wolf whom he had kept there was injured, and probably to the point where she would need treatment before she is able to heal.

An idea quickly crossed my mind as the maid approached the guest room.

I quickly fixed my scattered hair and arranged my clothing, while trying to get rid of all the wrinkles that had formed on my face as a result of frowning so much.

"Hey!" I stopped the nurse. "Where are you off to?"

"Alpha Lesley has asked me to look at the wounds of the she wolf in there." She explained politely with slightly raised brows.

"Well can I help you with that?" I chipped in, trying to crack a smile.

Her brows raised even higher, probably surprised about seeing me being nice.

I assured her with a slight nod of my head that I was really going to help her. "You can go on with your other duties." I said taking the box from her.

I watched as she walked away, looking back occasionally to ascertain if I was actually being serious.

I gave her a warm smile before I turned around and made for the guest room.

I knocked gently first, then pushed the door open.

In intruder she wolf who had been lying on the bed facing the ceiling sat up the moment the door opened.

Her eyes squinted at first, because of the impact of the light that seeped into the room through the door when I opened it.

"Hello!" I said with a fake smile and a fake niceness that I did not even bother to conceal.

Her green pair of eyes were wide as they stared at me, her lips slightly parted. She looked like she had seen a ghost.

Perhaps what they said about me were true after all, I carry my energy everywhere. My lips broadened as I got close to her.

"I was told you have some significant wounds which I should really look at." I said in a slight whisper and knelt in front of her.

My eyes went straight to her right foot which had a big blister on it. And from the look of things, it really needed attention from a professional.

"I wonder how you got hurt this badly." I whispered again and took the foot in my hand, lifting it up to my eyes level, then I slowly looked up to look at her face. She was sweating profusely, her eyes wide open as she stared at me, I watched as her heart beat so hard against her chest at my contact.

Yes! That's it, you should be afraid of me.

I let go of her foot without caution so that it hit the wooden floor, I heard her whimper when that happened and it made me happy.

"You are probably one of Alpha Lesley's so many sluts, but what I don't understand is why he had intentionally taken you to the forest to get hurt."

Her eyes narrowed.

"I hope you don't start to think that you are any special." I said again as I leaned towards her. I could feel my claws sharpening as I made even closer contact with her, my thirst for blood getting worse.

When I stared at her neck, I suddenly had the urge to bite into it with my sharp fangs until I snuff the life out of her.

She must have sensed the strong desire rising in me, she kept trying to shift back as I moved closer. But I was not ready to let her off my hook.
