Prologue

My life was turned upside-down because of a woman I met at a club in New York City. She has this funny makeup and outfit. I think that was my first time to ever see a woman like her. She was so adorable, but she cursed a lot. She wasn't my type! I hate women who curse so much. However, here I am thinking about her. I can't focus on my work. Perhaps, I must've lost my mind. I think I need to visit Dr. Marcus.

As I was staring at the wall, wondering about our future together, I heard a knock on my door. It knocked me off from my seat and I almost fell on my office chair. I touched my left chest as my heart was pounding wildly.

"What is it?" I asked my secretary, Mr. Steven Parker.

He left the door ajar.

"Please forgive me for disturbing you, Sir Kyle."

I smiled at him. Afterward, I shook my head. What's happening to me? I need to be a scary boss! I changed my expression into a frown and I launched cold stares at him. He almost run but decided to be brave. Ah, my aura is still working.

"Go straight to the point. What do you want?" I asked him.

"I would like to come inside and give this folder to you. It shows our rating and stocks. Our company is falling drastically and if the things get worst, perhaps we might need a merge with another company, sir," he said confidently.

"You may come in."

"Thank you, Sir," he spoke as he walked slowly towards me.

His hands were shaking and his face was pale.

"That's what you're suggesting? A merge with another company?" I asked calmly, even though deep inside, I wanted to burst into my anger and frustration.

I already expected this would happen right after I invested in that company.

My hand reached for the bottle of rum and poured two glasses. As he arrived close to me, I gave him his glass. He left the folder first in my table. Afterward, he took it. He immediately poured everything into his mouth.

"You didn't answer me."

He placed the glass on the table and bent his head forward.

"Yes, sir. That's the easiest way to save your company."

I clenched my fist as I felt like I was erupting.

"Are you scared?"

"Of course, no, Sir," he spoke nervously.

He couldn't lift his head; plus, he lied. He was scared of me.

"Are you scared of me?!" this time I lost my cool.

"Yes, Sir. I'm scared. I'm scared of everything; to you and my girlfriend. She's been trying to break-up with me and date guys she doesn't even know."

I saw tears coming from his face as it pours down on the marble floor. I hate people who cries easily as I am softhearted to just ignore them.

"Come here, Steven. I can be your shoulder for today," I told him.

Steven started running, bounding towards me. He hugged me tightly while letting go of his agony. And I have no other choice but to make him feel better.

"Some things are not destined to be ours. If she loves you, then she would've never done it. This just means, she is not for you. You deserve someone better, okay?" He nodded his head.

"Now, I want you to find Sunshine Miller for me. She owes me a lot. Go and move on."

After my encounter with Steven, I had to show my handsome face to all the girls my Mom introduced me to. Different blind dates for one day was so exhausting, especially when you couldn't find a girl as interesting as her.

Six years had passed since I last saw her. I wonder how she's doing right now. I tried to search for her whereabouts, but I failed.

I heard my phone ring; it was Steven! Perhaps he had already found her.

"Good evening, Sir. I finally found her."

"Send me the address."

As soon as I received the address, I hopped into my car and called my boys. Well, I am not just a failing millionaire. I am also a Mafia.

Hours had passed and we finally arrived. I can finally see a glimpse of her funny face. Ecstasy filled the air as I closed my car and stared at a small house.

"How did she fit in here? This is so small for a woman," I commented.

The night was peaceful, but worries filled my thoughts. This place is not for her.

"Give me the microphone."

They handed me a Bluetooth microphone that you can connect to a speaker. I checked it first.

"Hello? Mike test. Oh, cool. This is working."

Laughs from the men filled the air. I glared at them.

"What's so funny? Stop or I'll kill all of you."

Silence filled the air. It was better than creepy boys laughing in front of a girl's house. We are not here to mess with her.

I grabbed my gun and pulled the trigger three times.

Suddenly, I heard a boy crying.

"Boss, we found Drake. The woman's brother."

"Ms. Sunshine Miller and the siblings, I am threatening you right now. If you will not pay your debts, which is one billion dollars, I will kill this boy beside me, do you understand?

Unexpectedly, a woman kicked off the door of the house. I couldn't recognize her at first, but I now know who she was. She was Sunshine Miller. Her hands were closed into a tight ball. Tears were flooding from her hazel eyes. She's serious than I expected.

My lips formed into a thin line. Conscience purified my flaming heart. I am such a jerk for making her cry. I didn't mean it. I just wanted to teach her a lesson so she could pay me and be scared of me. However, things changed.

"What have you done to this woman, Kyle?"

As I stared at her beautiful face, all our memories from that night started flashing in my head again.
