Chapter 16: Grace

It’s been a week since the whole incident with Clare. I’m unsure of what exactly that was all about, but it made everything a lot easier since I’ve told Xander about my idea. He’s been happier. Maybe it was because of my idea or maybe because of his new advisor, his brother, Alex. From the sounds of it, they don’t spend a lot of time together and since it was approved by the Elders, now they are inseparable. It’s nice though, to see Xander smile. He’s been intense and almost frustrated with everything until recently.

I groaned as I looked at the stack of books on my desk. Xander has given me books about my heritage and my own kind, but also books on being a queen. I was having trouble understanding the aspects of what a Queen truly represents. There’s no way though, I’m able to walk into a room with grace and elegance and demand everyone’s attention. I’m going to need more training on how to be graceful and fearful at the same time, because you can only learn so much from a book
