“He wants to come back for New Year’s because the girl is probably local, and you definitely know her—he could have only met her through you. I don’t know exactly who she is since I haven’t been over in months, and you haven’t been home much either. But she could be a neighbor or someone who visited while Kevin was there. I think your dad knows who she is or can narrow down the list of possible girls.”

Amber set the letter down, and Jenny smiled, tapping her nose playfully.

“Dad?” I asked. “Don’t tell me she’s right—I really don’t want to sing.”

“Amber, sweetheart,” Dad said seriously. “Confirm that I already said this last year at my father’s birthday.”

The girls nodded.

“Son,” Dad looked at me. “During your first year, we celebrated Grandpa’s birthday here.”

“Yeah, I remember—you mentioned it,” I said impatiently.

“Just like last Christmas, Shannon came over then too. But I didn’t feel the urgency, so I told your mom and Amber that I didn’t think she was here for me. I didn’t know who she was here for, since she knew you weren’t home. Now, after reading the letter, I’d guess it was Shannon.”

Jenny’s face lit up with a wide grin.

“Make sure it’s a good song, pretty boy,” she stood up and placed her plate in the sink.

“You couldn’t have just lied and said you didn’t know who it was?” I asked, pretending to be annoyed as Jenny sat back down across from me. “I am your son, after all.”

“And she is my future daughter-in-law,” Dad said, glancing at Jenny, who suddenly became very focused on her drink.

“You’ll realize eventually that betting is pointless,” Dad laughed, easing Jenny’s embarrassment.

“I do win sometimes,” I pointed out.

“You do, Messyhair,” my girlfriend said. “When Paul pays the bill.” She laughed—she was unbelievably attractive.

“To the hallway,” I motioned to my girlfriend, who smiled and walked ahead without a word. I followed.

“Son, what are you doing?” I heard Mom call after me before I shut the door.

I leaned against the wall, pulled Jenny close, and kissed her.

“You won, beautiful. I love you,” I said. “I’m proud of you—but I’m still the boss.”

“I know,” she whispered with a smile before kissing me again.

We returned to the house, and the family had moved to the living room.

“Just had to clarify who’s in charge,” I said, but I could tell from their faces that Dad had already told them.

“So, Jane,” Amber laughed. I threw a pillow at her.

“Messyhair, we should probably get going soon,” Jenny said quietly. “I didn’t bring my bag over, so we need to stop by first.”

We said our goodbyes, picked up Jenny’s bag, and I drove us back to Paul’s apartment.

“Do you have an exam tomorrow?” she asked while unbuckling her seatbelt.

“No, I don’t,” I said, wrapping my arms around her. “What about you?” My lips started teasing hers.

“Nope,” she smiled. “And Paul isn’t home either.”

Once the door had barely clicked shut, I had her pressed against the wall. I didn't give her a chance to breathe. My hands were everywhere, lifting her by her thighs and pushing the hem of her loose dress up in one fluid motion, while she fumbled with my trousers and boxers, shoving them low enough to clear my hips.

"Do you want this, babe?" I asked, my breath hot against her ear, my hands pulling her panties off as she nodded.

I entered her with a sharp, possessive force, the weight of her dress still bunched between us, acting as the only barrier.

"Yes, Messy," she panted, her fingers digging into my shoulders. "Exactly that... more."

I didn't waste a second, hammering into her with a relentless, driving pace that had her head thudding rhythmically against the wall. The friction was instant and overwhelming; she spiraled quickly, her body tightening and coming again and again as I held her weight effortlessly. I pinned her there, my muscles cording as I used her own momentum against her.

I didn't let her down from my hip until I let out a jagged, broken breath, spilling inside her just as her final, desperate scream was swallowed by my kiss.

"That was incredible, Messy," she panted.

"If I lived with you, you could have it every day," I promised.

On Friday, Jenny drove home after school, pulling into my parents’ driveway just before dinner. The scent of home-cooked food drifted through the open windows, and as she stepped inside, the family was already gathered, waiting with expectant smiles.“Come in,” Brad said, opening the door. “Dinner’s just about ready.”“Good evening,” Jenny greeted everyone and sat across from me at the table—her usual spot. She seemed a little nervous, which was unusual for her lately.“Everything okay, dear?” Dad noticed.“Messyhair said everyone’s coming to visit our apartment tomorrow, but unfortunately, I won’t be able to be there,” she blurted out.“No problem, dear,” Mom reassured her. “Yes, I could only make time now.” So she took resp

I should’ve looked away. Should’ve stood up and left the room. But I couldn’t. She danced like temptation incarnate—teasing, graceful, slow. When she peeled back her sweatshirt and revealed the black corset beneath, I stood.I crossed to her in two strides, hands slipping around her waist.“What do you think you’re doing?” she giggled as I eased her down onto the couch.I didn’t answer. I couldn’t. My fingers were already tugging at her tracksuit, breath shallow. I nearly tore the fabric from her—and my own clothes too—blinded by how much I needed her. She laughed softly, her skin warm under my hands, her smile daring me to break every rule we’d set.“What do you think you’re doing?” she asked again, this time breathlessly, already reacting to my kisses.

The week started off calmly. Exams were approaching, but I wasn’t behind on anything.“Hey, Jay,” Dave said before class. “I saw you yesterday.”“Where?” I asked.“I know you’re cheating on your girlfriend,” he whispered.“What?” I tried to figure out what he was talking about.“I saw you at the movies with Miss Wenword, and don’t tell me you’re just friends,” Dave said accusingly. “It was obvious you two were involved—you couldn’t keep your lips off her.”“Well, Dave,” I laughed, “that’s true.”“You just moved in with your girlfriend. That’s not exactly fair to her,” he said reproachfully.&ldqu

“What do you mean?” I asked.“Messyhair,” she murmured, playing with my hair and pressing against me. “I know my taste. You’ll never guess it, and even though our friends have asked, I’ve never shown them what I’d actually accept.” She laughed. “Besides, I’ll just say it’s not the right one.”“But you hate cats,” I whispered against her neck.“Maybe, but winning is what matters,” she laughed as I started tickling her on purpose, making her run into the bedroom.I followed and playfully tackled her onto the bed.“You could tell me about your admirer,” I said.“About what?” she asked.“The exchange student who wants to take you away,” I said. She pushed

“Well, I’d ask Jane,” Paul grinned. “Jay’s usually the one causing trouble in their relationship.”“Seriously?” Aaron was surprised. I smiled and nodded.“I suspect she’s been hiding things from me lately,” I laughed.“You’re not wrong,” Mayoko chuckled.“You could tell me about this study buddy situation,” I said, making Mayoko glance at Brian. I knew my friend was in trouble, but his nod told me he’d handle it.“Nothing special,” Paul said. “There’s a guy who’s been hovering around her since last year and doesn’t take no for an answer.”“Why did she turn him down even when I wasn’t around?” I asked.“He’s a bit pu

I took a look at the ring. It was yellow with a small white stone. I liked it more than most others, but it didn’t compare to Jenny’s.“Don’t expect a date yet,” Brian said. “Mayoko’s parents want a long engagement, and we’ll announce it next week at my future father-in-law’s birthday party.”“You’ll let us know,” Jenny said, unpacking the drinks.“Now it’s your turn,” Mayoko joked, making Jenny busy herself opening cabinets. Brian and I watched quietly.“We’re fine as we are,” she said calmly, returning to the living room a few seconds later with a box of cookies from the first cabinet.“Yeah, that was clear when my friend opened the door today,” Brian laughed, easing Jenny’s embarrassment.“I’ll put a clock in the bedroom,” I chuckled.Brian and I started playing foosball

I couldn’t even finish my burger. I just wanted to get home, confront my dad, and change out of my sticky clothes. He was in the living room, scribbling something. Mom was watching TV. “Hey, Shannon,” Jenny said cheerfully. “Glad I spotted you—your gloves were left behind yesterday.”She placed something on the table.“Thanks! I’ve been looking for them,” Shannon squealed.“No problem. Bye!” Jenny said. “Bye, Jay,” she added, and walked out the door.“Damn it,” I muttered and ran

I slept late—everyone was already up by the time I came downstairs.“Little bro,” Amber said, “you can start making up for your screw-ups. After lunch, you should help out at the shop.”“Isn’t Brad free?” I asked flatly. I had no desire to leave the house.“Forget it,” Amber said. “I’ll manage.”“F

I was getting ready for Christmas—finally, I could go home. I hadn’t gone out in a while, just focused on studying. The food didn’t taste as good as it did at home, so I didn’t feel like eating much either. What I looked forward to most on weekends were Uncle Steve’s conversations—at least then I c
