37. Sleepless

Exhausted, I made my way back to our pack house. The I needed to relay what I had seen to Lucien as soon as I could, so I let Fallon power back for me.

Entering the pack house, I made a beeline for my room so that I could call him, hoping that he wasn’t too busy to answer. As I waited for him to pick up, I took a moment to gather my thought, trying to piece all of the evidence together. The sound of the ringing echoed in my ears, each passing moment fueling my anticipation to seek my next steps in this mission.

Finally, the call connected, and Lucien's deep voice greeted me through the phone. "Mia," he acknowledged, his tone filled with warmth and understanding. "It's good to hear from you. I figure your healing has gone well?"
