Says the one who paid someone to take her board exams

Chapter 1 - Says the one who paid someone to take her board exams

After arguing and compromising on the subject of "Act like Yvonne", we finally agreed on something. The main reason why The little cloud wanted to stick close to the "leads" is that they provide so much spiritual energy when each of them interact. So I don't necessarily need to get close to them, they're just the nearest "significant characters".

Since Yvonne wasn't a significant character, or what you call a "lead", we settled on with staying neutral on important scenes, collecting spiritual energy and hoarding! I was never a spender, the idea of spending my money on such luxuries was never possible for me. What satisfies me is earning money and hoarding cheap items. I smiled sincerely as I lay on the disgusting princess bed. I painted the walls in navy blue and white. I also repainted the antique cheap desk and bed frame I found in the market. I slowly replaced each item one by one so Yvonne's parents and brothers wouldn't be suspicious.

"You sure he'll be away for a week?" I asked Nova once again.

"Yep, your father has a business trip." I just nodded and finished changing my bedsheets, I then moved on to moving the new cabinets.

Yvonne was the youngest daughter of an entrepreneur and a mathematics teacher. Her father invented the XXX phone when he was still working at N*sa and her mother was a college professor in Mathematics. Her mother died right when she was 6 and her belongings were safely hidden in a separate room. Her brother, ten years older than her, graduated in H*rv*rd, took medicine, and is now a famous plastic surgeon. He holds conferences around the world and travels a lot, he barely comes home. This left Yvonne alone with maids. She grew up thinking about her vanity and focused on her physical appearance. She liked pink, feminine, fancy, and cute stuff that when I first entered her room, I wanted to gauge my eyes on how bright and tacky it was. The following days were spent by me going around market places and thrifting.

I slowly ordered new stuff for the past five months to change everything. "MY" room is much better than Yvonne's room, It wasn't offensive to the eyes and the colors blend naturally with each other, with royal blue curtains, navy and beige walls, black bed frame, and new white closets. I also changed my bathroom aesthetic. I laid down on the new silk bed covers and felt a sense of accomplishment.

"I never had the courage to spend this much money," I said to myself which Nova heard.

"What do you mean?!" Nova was shocked at the price, not because it was expensive, because It was too cheap. All the things she bought was not less than 50 dollars, the total price doesn't even exceed 500 dollars.

"How the hell did you fit that money for all of this!?" She bought three closets, paint, a new mattress, the bedframe, bedsheets, a new vanity, new towels, new bookshelves, and even new clothes! All under 500 hundred dollars! Isn't that crazy?

"What do you expect from an expert thrifter?" It was a sense of achievement. I gathered coupons for 5 months just to buy a new computer and even bargained with the antique shop-owner. The paint was free and I got it from Art clubs' discard pile together with damaged but still usable paint brushes and canvasses. This was the happiest I have ever been. The closets and vanity were a bundle together with the bookshelves in *kea.

"And didn't you benefit from me as well? We collected six spiritual energy!" I even got an artifact. The people in the garage sale we found didn't know the true value of the statue they had! They just sold it for 9 cents, 9 cents! It was actually a family heirloom passed down and can be linked to Queen XXX.

"By the way, your brother would be returning home tonight." This made me sit straight up from the bed.

"Why didn't you tell me?!"

"Was I supposed to? He didn't have any significant roles to the *leads*."

"Still! You need to tell me everything beforehand." And after he agreed and asked me questions I dressed comfortably in a sweater and sweat pants. I waited for night time to come. A maid notified me to go down and I told her that I'd be right down. When we were walking through the hallway, Nova talked.

"Oh, and he brought a few co-workers with him." This made Demi turn her head slowly at the floating cotton.

"You better start practicing telling me beforehand!"

"It is beforehand!"

"Yeah, like a few seconds before it happens!" Demi whispered at him sharply, she was still cautious of anyone hearing her. She was the only one who can hear the fluff ball so she would seem crazy if anyone saw her talking to the air.

"Your brother has spoken to them about Yvonne a couple of times, only when he was asked. They know you to be spoilt and obnoxious based on what the brother's reply to their question."

(whisper) "What question exactly?" I whispered as I walk slowly through the corridors.

"Arthur, the 25-year-old intern with waxed hair asked if he was close to you. You know what he answered of course." I nodded and listened.

"Jessica, a nurse, 21 years old,  didn't necessarily ask but told him how arrogant Yvonne was. The third guy, Leon, his friend since college thinks of you as an ignorant little girl. He actually met you once when you were 9." I mentally took note of everything he said and finally went inside the dining room.

They never actually noticed me, more like they purposely ignored me, but I let it slide and wasn't bothered with it. It was only common courtesy for me to be present when there were guests over. They have begun eating when I entered the room, thus, I sat down as well and began eating. They started talking about work and business, common stuff among the rich. After a couple of minutes, the conversation moved from business to future to "me". Jessica began talking about being serious about studies, career, and planning, not being a dead weight to the family and all that. It was actually funny how she purposely tried to talk down on me but failed several times, It's also funny how no one's doing anything about it.

'Funny that she had the guts to talk about studies when she barely passed the board exams.' I heard Nova's voice and smirked. This was seen by Jessica and got offended somehow.

"Mr. Reeves, you should focus on disciplining your daughter, she can't even focus on her manner." Demi wanted to laugh but was holding herself in, maintaining her composure.

"Yvonne, you should focus on studying and achieve something-" Jessica still continued rattling. Demi couldn't help but giggle which stopped all of them.

"Says the one who paid someone to take her board exams."

"Wh-what did you just say you brat?! You're constantly failing your classes-"

"And?" Demi put her knife and fork down.

"You won't get far with your performance-"

"Oh? How did you know the state of my school performance? Are you my teacher?"

"N-no, but it's obvious that you-"

"Of course! You can't even take a test on your own, how could you teach? Oh, such a dumb idea." This pissed off Jessica as she was being embarrassed in front of the person she's pursuing, in front of Victor! She was about to speak again when she was caught off.

"Perhaps, you know me personally?" Demi rested her head on her hand then smiled.

"Oh, my mistake again, no one in this room-no, in fact, no one in this 10,000 square feet property knows me at all." She smiled when saying this sentence which made the atmosphere quiet and awkward for some reason.

Demi wiped her mouth with the napkin on her lap gracefully.

"I lost my appetite, to think that I even considered going down for courtesy was yet another mistake of mine." Demi stood up and walked towards the double doors.

"Enjoy your meals." She said sweetly and turned towards the direction of the stairs.

"Hum~ hum~" Demi was humming a song together with Nova, a song they recently listened to.

"Ah... Her face though! pft~ bwahaha *sigh*." The fluff started to laugh which was contagious, after getting in her room, Demi finally laughed as well. On the other side, in the dining hall downstairs, a group of people was stunned. They never expected her to react that way. Yvonne Bella Reeves was an obnoxious, flashy, arrogant, and ignorant child! Who was that!?

'It wasn't that weird and impossible.' A few maids thought to themselves which was true. No one really personally knew Yvonne, not even the servant who was working for the Reeves family, not even the Reeves, her own family. They all know her to be distant, obnoxious, and arrogant. She always failed in school, hence, Mr. Michael Reeves never looked at the school card sent by the XXX school regarding her performance, he never once attended any meetings or events associated with the said school, he never bothered.

Yvonne's brother, never really got close to her because one- they had a ten-year age gap and second- Victor was always away. Her reaction shocked all of them especially the three guests. Leon, who last saw her seven years ago was stunned as well.

'Of course, it was seven years ago, she would've obviously changed.' Leon looked at the reaction around him. The maids were shocked as well and a slight change in the father-son pair's face was noticed by him, It was weird...for all of them.

Back in Demi's room, The little cotton ball was thinking to itself whilst the girl was washing up.

'Should I tell her?' The cotton ball thought to itself. The cotton ball didn't know whether to tell her since the event already passed.

"Nah, even if the visit was intentional it wouldn't be useful for her." The cotton ball shrugged of the piece of information like it was nothing. Victor never wanted to invite anyone, especially Jessica, it was intentional just to piss off Yvonne and see her reaction, you ask why? Well, they have noticed a slight change inYvonne. She stopped going out and shopping for pink stuff, she recently started bringing furniture, paint, and books one-by-one. It was shocking for them that when the three guests were sent home, the father, Michael Reeves, Messaged the A school and asked for her school card. He told the school to stop sending them when he saw no use for it, but now that he heard what his daughter said about no one knowing her, he got hurt, as if someone hit a bullseye and hurt him. After a couple of minutes, he received a letter through email.

Michael almost popped his eyes out when he saw the card. The messaged congratulated Yvonne Bella Reeves on her achievements and improvement through these six months. Her grade exceeded the average score and the highest score in the private school, she exceeded in every aspect. Sports, Geometry, Biochemistry, Algebra, Art, Music. He didn't know that such a change happened already until recently these past few days.

He then printed the card as well as a bunch of certificates that were also sent and briskly walked to his son's room on the second floor. Victor opened his door after a sound of knocking and found his father with a shocked face. His father held out a stack of papers, a thick stack of papers in front of his face. He was confused at first until he reached out and read what was on the stack of papers.

"What?! That's impossible." He was also about to pop his eyes out from shock. How could his sister even achieve this?

"This was six months worth of her certificate." His father said.

"Six months?!" She was able to win a thick stack of certificates within just six months!? He didn't know how to react. She has been acting weird these days, but he didn't expect such a change!
