Chapter 9

K•E•L•S•I::::

"Kelsi, What's happening here?"Who's that? Mum asked coming towards me with the things she bought, while looking at Anita departing figure. 

"Uhm....She's just a friend", I smiled, taking the goods from my mum who look unconvinced about my reply, I knew she could see my unsettled body language.

"She is my Friend mum, ermm.... I mean my class mate, she was greeting me" I grinned, trying to reassure my mother.

"Alright", mum said. "let us start going it's getting late already"

I was relieved, finally she reluctantly accepted.

I was glad Anita didn't not meet mum,

and mum didn't meet her.

I hope they don't cross paths.

I really hope so.

We came back late and quickly make dinner for the Raphael's, while mum was still cooking I went outside to complete my assignment, I noticed someone entering into the room, I looked up.

It was a manly figure, but blur I couldn't recognize whoever that was, I return my attention to my book to complete my assignment.

Earlier I had stopped going to work with mum for the past two weeks due to loads of assignments given to us by the teachers, mum understand and allowed me  backat home.

School was no longer the way it was ever since Lexy came, everyone was giving special attention to their appearance just to get his attention and favours.

Most especially Anita.

During break one fateful afternoon, I stood outside the class to take a view of the class, when delvin walked towards my direction.

"Hi Kelsi" his lovely voice came out as he walked closer to where I was standing.

"Hello delvin, how are you doing? I replied, rather too excited.

"How have you been coping with everything here? He smiled.

"Fine, and as a matter of fact, I will survive "I pouted.

He chuckled.

"What are you doing standing here alone?" He  asked, looking around the corridor.

"Nothing" i replied, looking at the guys playing soccer.

"Let's go get something to eat then", he said, pulling my hands gently.

Delvin and I started walking towards the cafeteria when Anita and her crew pulled me to the back of the class to bully me, luckily for me he came on time as Anita wanted to slash my face with a new blade.

He sternly warned them to stay away from me or else he would report what they wanted to do and even more to the principal.

That was how he saved me and became my first friend.

We walked towards the school eatry, talking about class and mimicking the way some teachers teach during lectures.

"Delvin!"  Someone called, we both turned and saw  Stephanie one of Anita crew member.

"Bitch! Can you excuse us?"  She spat out, with her arms crossed.

"Filter your mouth Steph",  delvin warned with a hard tone.

"Okay, I will leave"  i muttered softly, as I was about leaving delvin held my hand firmly.

" Where do you think you are going to Kelsi, come back"  He pulled me towards him. "You're not leaving, She met you here, it is either she tell us why she is here or she leave"

Stephanie was beyond shock throwing daggers at me with her eyes. 

I bent my head Smilling inwardly, "serves you right Miss unfiltered mouth"  I mocked.

"Let her leave Delv! I came to see you not her ugly face", Stephanie insisted.

 "She is not leaving, say whatever you have in mind Steph or I will never give you audience" Delvin insisted still holding my hand.

"What exactly do you want Steph? He asked getting irritated by her presence.

She scoffed.

"Nothing!"  She replied hotly, eyed me and walked away.

" I'm sorry about Stephanie's behavior" delvin apologize Smiling.

Oh! It's nothing, I returned the smile while  focusing at her departing figure.

"Iam sorry Kelsi, you will surely have a hard time from now hence forth, but you know it's girls issue", he smirked.

"Yeah! Iam used to them", I laughed.

"Iam really not into Stephanie, even all of them! They all have bad characters and it irritates me", he pouted looking even more handsome.

I chuckled.

"Hey! What about your new seat mate?" I stylishly asked him while pretending to wave at a student who did not acknowledge me.

"Now I have a rival, all thesame he is fun to be with and I know everyone is going crazy over him". He genuinely smiled

We walked into the eatry, bought snacks and drink while we were eating, Lexy came over and sat down with us.

"Hi Kelsi, he greeted, with a boyish grin.

"Uh..Hi"  I said shyly looking elsewhere, so he would not see my blush.

"How're you doing?" His voice came out   warm and soft, sending tingling sensation through my body.

"Fine, thanks"  I mumbled quickly, bitting a large portion of my meat pie.

I couldn't help but admire Lexy, he was  absolutely handsome, his voice, the way he gets excited or laughed, melts my heart.

The sound of his laughter was like a music to my ears, I could sit and hear him laugh all day.

His eyes was on me all the time even when delvin was trying to get his attention, his eyes held that same glow I saw in them that day. 

From that moment I knew anita was a thing of the past for him

At the far end of the eatry,  I turned and saw Anita and her crew talking and pointing towards our direction.

Everyone coming in and going out of the eatry were surprised, no one could believe I was actually talking with the two most handsome and popular boys in the school, I too couldn't believe it either.

Girls were looking at me with disgust as they walked past with their food, I could overhear one passed me and said loudly called me a whore!

I was offended, and ignored their hateful remark.

I was enjoying their company, I don't want it to end but someone else did.

"Lexy honey!" She called swaying her hips to get his attention.

"Here comes the witch!" I rolled my eyes, as I gulp down my juice.

Anita walked over our table and sat on Lexy leg blocking his view from seeing me,I looked away chewing my snack slowly.

She leaned closer to his ear, whispering something to him silently,  they both laughed as his hands curled around her waist.

Delvin looked at me, sensing my change of mood.

That moment I lost my appetite.

I stood up and left the table.
