CHAPTER 5.
"Alpha Ruco, the father of your mates, who you rejected will be here any moment. He'll be here to know who was brave enough to reject his sons, so you might wanna get ready to meet him when he arrives."Seated in the grand chambers, I listened as the news of the Alpha from another pack's impending visit reached my ears from my father's voice which was void of emotions. That was the first time he spoke to me like that, but I wasn't heartbroken either. My heart remained unmoved despite how he had said it, probably to put some fear in me.I was so angry at the sight of them and I had no interest in these men, safe from the fact that I was focused on revenge for what they had done to me.I was determined to make it clear to the visiting Alpha that I had no intention of accepting his sons but saying such to my father might likely cause an uproar, so I just kept quiet to avoid attracting anyone's wrath. At noon while I was with my father, the chamber doors swung open, and there he stood, the father of my supposed mates. He looked confident, unaware of who I was even though I recognized him instantly. He exchanged pleasantries with my father and as he began speaking about how pained his sons had been about being rejected, irritation bubbled within me."They have been deeply saddened by the way things turned out, so I came to know if we could sort this out with your daughter." he said, his words falling on deaf ears. I watched as he rambled on, his voice grating on my nerves.I clenched my fists in anger as I glared at him while sitting there, recalling the pain and agony I had endured at the hands of his sons in my previous life. How could he stand there, speaking about them being sad and angry, as if that would undo everything they had done to me? That wasn't enough to take me back and save the body of the innocent girl I was living in."Your sons took another wife, didn't they?" I blurted out, my voice dripping with bitterness."And now you're here, telling me to accept them back? I am never going to come back! You go tell them to fuck themselves." Even though my father gave me signals to respect him and calm down, I couldn't hold back my emotions because each time he tried to speak about them being innocent, it just vexed me so much. I stood up, my anger getting the best of me."You think I'll just forget the years of torment?" I yelled, my voice cracking with emotion. "You're delusional!"Alpha Ruco's face turned red with anger."What are you even talking about?! What years of torment?!" Then turning to my father he said. "Control your daughter, before I make rash decisions you wouldn't like." My father looked torn between defending me and maintaining the alliance. But before he could even reply, I fired back at Alpha Ruco."I won't be controlled!," I retorted, giving my father's efforts to calm me a cold stare. He was shocked."Not by you, not by anyone. Because nobody understands what-" my words caught in my throat as the horrifying memories passed through my mind again.I continued to exchange heated words with Alpha Ruco, every reply more biting than the last. His frustration only goaded my determination to insult him the more. In the end, he slammed his hand on the table and rose to his feet while snarling at me, he was almost frothing."Our alliance with this pack is over," he declared, his voice echoing through the chamber. And there was a moment of silence as we all tried to process what he had just said. Without another word, Alpha Ruco turned around and signalling his guards, they made for the door.We all watched as the door closed with a bang and he was gone. My father's face contorted in anger immediately at what I had done, and he turned to me with a very angry look crossing his features. That was the first time he was real angry at me."Look at what you've done!" he yelled, his voice weighty with disappointment at what I had done. The thing was, I didn't even give a hoot about the consequences, but I was happy that I had given the man an account of how angry I was. I had finally stood up to the man responsible for my past suffering. It might not have been the satisfaction which I craved, but it was a step towards the revenge I desperately craved. That was the moment a thought hit me, but my father's rants as he continued to berate me made it a bit hard to think clearly. The idea slowly formed in my mind and soon I stopped him."Wait a minute," I interrupted him, rising from my throne chair. And without waiting for his response, I rushed out of the chamber, determined to catch up with Alpha Ruco before he left the Pack, if he wasn't gone already."Where are you going?!" My father shouted, but I was gone like the wind. He must have followed me because I heard chairs being moved. If I really wanted this revenge, then I needed to be with them.Being with them would make it easier for me to punish them for their accusation and evil they had done to me. Outside the chamber, I found the Alpha and his entourage preparing to depart. I swallowed my pride and walked towards him immediately."Hey!" I called when I had gotten close enough. He turned back, and was a bit surprised to see me standing there. Not minding the Pack members around, I knelt before him, a false sense of remorse on my face."I'm sorry for my outburst," I began, my voice laced with fake sincerity which he didn't notice."I'm willing to give your sons a chance to prove themselves, to come into my life as my true mates. I was just not thinking straight and that's why whatever I said to you back there left my mouth. And for that, I am deeply sorry." Alpha Ruco's expression softened as he glanced at me for a while, as if processing if my words were genuine."Stand, Princess. You shouldn't be kneeling." he said, placing a hand on my shoulder. "I just don't know any better way I should have apologised, considering how I must have hurt you with my stupid insults. I am deeply sorry.""I'm glad to hear that," he said, a hint of a smile on his lips.Little did he know that my words were far from genuine. My plan was wicked and cunning, and I was ready to execute it to perfection. After the tumultuous battle with Caesar, it took Aria several weeks to recover from her physical and emotional wounds. Axle, Chase and Damon were there to look after her and offer comfort as she got better. As her strength returned, they began to rebuild the Pack, together. Caesar's men, despite their atrocities, were forgiven and allowed to return to their former Pack's and families, but were sworn to an oath that they would forever owe their allegiance to the Pack.Eventually as the wounds of the battle faded and everything gradually came back to normal, Aria and Axle came together. She chose him and they consummate their love, sealing their commitment to one another for eternity. Axle marked her, which ended up making her even more powerful.Damon and Chase, meanwhile, pledged their allegiance to the couple without hesitating, having been brought back from the brink of death by their fated love.
AXLE.Intense fear seized me the moment I understood what was going on. I watched as the witches raised their wands towards and began to cast the ancient spell. I knew what they were doing. They were bending her to their own will, and were turning her into nothing more than a puppet to do whatever they wanted. Caesar was right when he told her that he didn't need her intention to do what he wanted and I had only doubted him until I saw what his real intentions were.I tried to yell at Aria to resist what they were doing, or even cry out in protest, but my voice caught in my throat. I couldn't say a single word, the witches had done something to us and glancing back at my brothers who were still chained, I could tell from the sombre look in their eyes that they were also trying to yell at her to resist them but it wasn't just happening. I was utterly downcast seeing her go through so much pain without being able to help her.I wished I had helped her when I had the chance, none of this
ARIA.As my consciousness slowly returned to me, I felt like I was enveloped in a fog of pain and exhaustion. At first I couldn't move a single muscle and my body felt so sore. My vision was also blurry as I tried to make a sense of where I was. I blinked repeatedly and frantically before the hazy view finally disappeared and that's when I realised the reality of things.I was chained to a wall, with iron links that dug into my skin so tight that they held me in place and didn't allow me to make a single movement. My heart jumped in fear as I thought about it. What must have happened, I hoped this wasn't what I had in mind. If it was then we were in very deep trouble.I tried to speak, but all that escaped my lips was a ragged cough which burned my throat. My throat also felt sore, which added to the pain. I groaned before trying to work on the chains again, summoning my powers but it was so useless. Nothing happened, in fact the chains didn't shake a bit. I immediately got desperate t
ARIA.The sun was slowly starting to rise and so were our hopes. The tension in the air was so thick that you could feel it. Axle quickly took his sword, and moved out of the way for the others to take theirs. Some of us had chosen to be foot soldiers during the battle, but there was still a great chance that we were going to fight in our wolf forms if the worse came to the worse. Three days had passed since we received word of the enemy's approach, and just as the man had put it, they were arriving today. Spies had already brought news that they were very near to the borders and might be here anytime. That's when the door burst open. A Pack guard ran in breathlessly, it was very clear from the way he looked that he had a very big news, the one we had been expecting since we discussed the battle strategies again this morning. They were partitioned to lead different troops and make sure that there weren't a lot of casualties. "Alpha. " He called out, breathless as he bowed towards A
AXLE."What are you doing here? I asked you not to come back anymore." I asked, staring down at her with utter disgust. She smiled as if taunting me. "Really? Is this it? You're going to throw me out because of that wretched, sniveling piece of shit that-" I smacked her across the face so hard that her face turned red instantly. But it didn't seem to hurt her because the next second she was smiling and shaking her head slowly. "Tell me what I did to deserve this, Axle. Give me one reason." She said. "You disrespected my mate. And I don't want you anymore. I made it clear to you when we first met that you could be going anytime. And that time is now. She's now the one in my heart, not you." I growled at her but she scoffed in response as the tears started to fall from her eyes. "Yeah... you did." She said, between sobs. "But I fucking loved you. You gave me a reason to love again, and is this what you're going to do to me after all we've been through? I was there for you, I was the
ARIAONE WEEK LATER"Are you sure about this?" Chase whispered to Axle before looking up, our eyes met. I still felt guilty every time I looked into his eyes or he looked into mine because of the things I did to him, to the three of them. I couldn't believe I had gone feral that night, and it took me some time before I had had to accept the fact that I nearly killed the three brothers. Today, we had gathered to talk about the news that was coming, which was also part of the reason I was attacked. News had been sent to us that one of the spies was returning to the Pack and would be here anytime soon, with great news. We, therefore, had to gather immediately and talk about it before sending him out again to join the others and inform us if he got other information. I smiled at Chase, even though I felt so horrible right now. He smiled back before he went back to discussing it with his brothers. I knew they were also struggling to make sense of the tangled mess we found ourselves in, ju
