Leo's POV

My eyes shot open, as I could hear Steel growling in my mind.

Something felt off, something was not right.

Unable to control myself, my body ran to Charlies room, but she was not there. Panic rushed through me as I had realized her scent was faint as well. Steel began pushing for control, feeling uncomfortable that his mate was missing. We had such a pleasant evening last night. Her smile etched itself into my brain, as I fell asleep replaying her laugh over and over again.

I flung out of her room without a second thought, still in my boxers. I ran down the hall frantically, searching for my mate. Would she be in pain without me? What would happen if she decided to run away?

"Charlie?" I shouted, my voice echoing through the empty hallways.

"Alpha?" I hear people ask, making my wolf angrier and more tense that none of the voices were Charlie's.
