Chapter 36 Burn
The witch's domain is like a maze. Tall hedges keep blocking my path, making it difficult to remember where I’ve been. Now, I’m starting to wonder if rushing off and leaving Doctor Kusher behind isn’t such a good idea.
“Lady Gabriella,” speaking of the witch doctor, is incomparable. The doctor rushes to me. His glasses almost fall from his nose as he runs. He sighs and leans forward. His hands support his body as he rests them on his knees. “Good. I finally caught up to you.” He says this before fixing his posture. “Let’s go, lady.”
“Wait. Stop.” I planted my heels on the ground to stop him from taking me away. “The wolf.”

Tyrelle accompanies me the next day for my second day of training with the witches. He’s already aware of the circumstances regarding Aelfric, so he wants to come and see him for himself. Once again, Al disappeared. Tyrelle and I have no idea where he went, but every night, he would leave a note on my bedside table that was too skin-crawling for me to even say out loud or even read. Since Al left, I have been feeling burdened by unwanted feelings. I was angry, but at the same time, I was sad and hurt. Those were troubling feelings that burdened my chest so much that I had to distract myself. For the past few days, I have focused intently on learning magic. I woke up in a room that I didn’t recognize. It’s a room with no windows, only a singular door right before the bed that I was sleeping in. I got out of bed immediately and started to look around. Getting chased by wolves should be something that I should be all too familiar with by now. I know that it is kind of sad that I have such a thought, but the world that I am living in isn’t exactly that kind either.
