I felt overwhelmed by the fact he wanted to talk with me after our fight near the lake, and after he made out with Stacy in front of me. Walking with my head bend to my sneakers, I reached the table in the corner and plopped on the two-people sofa. Jason took his place across from me, and his eyes stared into mine.
“I am begging you to give me a chance, give US a chance!” his voice caressed my ears and frightened my heart at the same time.
I sighed, looking away. My brain was blocked, unable to give him an answer.
“You are such a mystery,” he continued. “I can swear you are into me, but you just refuse to be mine. What are you hiding, Amy? Is there another man? Are you keeping him in secret from your friends too? Because Anna and Stacy said you must be single.”

Jason began hastily moving his hand, and I placed my jacket in my lap in a futile try to hide what was going on. I bent my head in my back seat and closed my eyes. The Chef and the waiter moved nervously at their place, looking around to check how big of a scene I had managed to cause. Part of me was actually having fun with this play, but another was feeling sorry for them.“No, miss! Kindly, lower your voice.
