CHAPTER FOUR: THE CONFRONTATION.

“With all due respect, why would you come to my house, talk anyhow then slap my mother?” Little Theo asked, his head up facing Victoria.

“My son, come on. This is not your mother. I'm your grandmother. Follow me alright?*

Victoria went closer to Theo rubbing his head..

Sophia flinched. There was this silence amongst them.

“God forbid! You cannot be my grandmother. This is my mother.” He said grabbing Sophia's hand.

“And please use the door.” Theo said to Victoria.

Adria quickly interrupted him.

“Son, you don't talk that way to your grandmother and of course am your father. I came to take you to my place.”

Theo looked at Sophia immediately.

“I don't have a father. I only have a mother.” He said and walked back to his room.

A lot was going through Sophia's mind. He never wanted Theo to know anything about his father and was afraid he'll start asking her questions.

As soon as Theo went back to his room, Victoria and Adria waited for some minutes to see if he would come out again but he didn't.

“It does not matter what you've fed my son with that he does not have a father. I must have my son back and that's final.” Adrian turned, dragged his mother and left.

Sophia started thinking fast and decided to leave the house to Ethan's place. She was about to close the door when someone pushed her. It was as though the person was eavesdropping and waiting for Adria and Victoria to leave before showing his face. He had a mask. He pushed Sophia then grabbed her hand with so much energy that her hand hurt.

Sophia's breath caught in her throat. Immediately he spoke, she recognized his voice.

It was Liam Carter.

This name alone was a storm of memories and took Sophia down memory lane. Memories that she had buried so deeply suddenly resurfaced. Liam is Adrian's right hand man and also Sophia's friend.They were sleeping together without the consent of Adrian. Sophia started sleeping with Liam immediately she found out that her husband was not playing his bedroom duties well and starves her of sex . She had not seen him for years now, it's been a very long time.

"Liam" Sophia whispered, her voice very low.  

"Hello Sophia," Liam said, his voice very calm, he removed the mask and his eyes were filled with malice. "You've been so busy right? Hiding, running, playing with me like it never happened.”

"I don't understand. Like what never happened.Why are you here?". Sophia demanded, trying to sound braver. She was still holding the broken lamp with her.

Liam tilted his head. "Don't pretend you don't know why I'm here. No secret can be hidden forever.” He glanced around the apartment. He was looking for Theo.

"Where is the boy?".

"Which boy?" Do you have a boy? After the period that we were having unprotected sex, I told you I was pregnant but you said I should abort it since I'm not sure whether it was you or Adrian your friend. This boy you're looking for is the one you said I should abort so why come for him now.” Sophia said, her voice very firm and a bit loud.

Liam's expression changed immediately.

"It's true I told you to abort the baby but since you did not, he is my son because I'm very sure Adrian is impotent.He can't impregnate you. You thought I'll not find out that you carried that pregnancy I told you to abort”

"If we're to check, this boy belongs to Adrian not you. I was not married to you. I just started sleeping with you to catch fun and that's all.

“But let me remind you incase you've forgotten, I'll do whatever it is to save Theo from your hands and from Adrian's hand. And you just said something, that Adrian is impotent, I'll do everything to deliver this information to him.” Sophia said, her voice shaking.

"Sophia you can't change this topic,do your worst. All I know is that Theo belongs to me" Liam replied.

Sophia's expression changed immediately, looking more determined.

“Go and rest. You’ll never set your eyes on Theo not to take more of having him “

Just then, they were interrupted by a car that screeched at a stop in front of Sophia's apartment. Sophia rushed out to know who it was, because it seems the person was coming to see her.

Who she saw shocked her.

Adria

Again?

Did he forget anything?

He did not bother knocking, he just opened the door. He was so surprised to see Liam in Sophia's house.

Liam was more surprised to see Andria. He was the least person he expected to see at Sophia's house .

There was this silence that lasted for some moments. The three of them were just dumbfounded, not knowing what to say.

Andria was the first to speak.

“Liam, what are you doing here?”. Andria asked,his voice low but firm.

“Andria, what are you doing here?” Liam responded, raising his voice a little.

Andria's expression changed.

“Liam, you've the efforentery to answer questions with questions after you scammed me, took all  my money and travelled. You should be begging by now yet you're raising voice on me and asking me questions.. Andria said,his voice shows the expression of someone bitter.

Sophia was lost, she could not understand what was happening in her house one bit.

This time, Liam raised his voice more louder

“You're a wicked man. You think you can use me and dump me. You did not even deserve to be scammed but to be killed” Liam responded, with fury written all over his face.

“What the hell is happening here. Please stop. I'm losing my mind “ Sophia screamed and there was another silence for some moments.

Sophia was trembling seeing all these happening in her presence.

“What are you both talking about?. If you have any difference, it should not be resolved in my house. You people should find a way and sort out any misunderstanding  between the both of you”

Just then,there was a gunshot outside Sophia's house and it was not once, it came five times at a stretch.

Adria and Sophia ran to hide themselves except Liam who stood and laughed hysterically.

“Did he come with these gun men?” Sophia muttered.
