Chapter 1

The summer break had just ended, but the heat of the season hadn't gone away yet. The bright sun shone from high up in the sky, making the planet below very hot.

The students were still in a vacation mood, but they worked hard on their homework in spite of the tropical weather.

"Hey, why did you choose C as your answer?"

"Do you even need to ask? it's because C is the longest that it's the longest."

Makes sense.

When there are three long options and one short one, pick the short one. When there are three short options and one long one, pick the long one. Choose B if the lengths are not all the same. Choose D if the difference between the lengths is the same. Choose A if they are all long, and choose C if they are all short.

This was the most important weapon for the test of submission. Even though no one knew who said it, it got around by accident, and almost no student couldn't figure it out.

In the middle of all the noise in the classroom, you could hear the door being opened. A tall, thin man with a bag slung over his shoulder walked in. He looked hard to get close to because of his good looks, pale, clear skin, and a hint of coldness in his eyes. As soon as he walked in, someone saw him and waved to let him know they saw him.

"Brother Tom, you got here too soon."

The class was almost ready to start, but he was so early. Everyone was used to seeing the college star walk into the room right when class started. Jeff Gray's eyes were darker than usual, and his face, which was usually blank and cold, was also darker than usual. It was like someone had made him angry, and he was in a very bad mood. But his friends knew it was probably because of the video games they played last night and went to bed too late. He probably had a little bit of a bad mood because he had to get up so early.

So, Jeff Gray only slightly opened his eyes and said one word, "Morning," with no emotion. John Taylor, too, didn't think that was a strange answer.

The science and humanities majors had just been split up, but they hadn't been given their seats yet. They took their seats at random, with the first ones to arrive taking their seats and the later ones filling the empty ones. John Taylor sat in the last row, and he also helped Jeff Gray get the seat right next to him.

Everyone in the class knows who John Taylor is. With a smile and peach-colored eyes, he could not only get along with boys, but also get girls with fair hair to tell him off. But his tendency to change for his girlfriends made a lot of boys feel jealous and helpless.

He hopped up on the table without much thought, balancing himself with his hands on the edges and kicking his legs up in the air as he looked around the classroom. "Since it's a science class, I used to be a little worried about the huge number of guys, but now that I look around, it seems like there are a lot of girls in our class. The claim that women aren't good at science is a bunch of nonsense. If you look at the top students, both men and women have about the same number of spots.

As he said this, he put his chin on his hand and squinted his eyes in a very wise way. Even though his words may have made sense, to put it bluntly, the point was: There are a lot of women in this class. good. happy.

Then he started to listen to other things. After looking at all of his classmates, he told Jeff Gray, "I noticed that many of our first-year classmates are here, too, like Emily Blake, Joseph Willard, Rabbi Jackson, Guided Missile Aden, Chris Gordon, and Ryan Dixon."

He made sure to say that person's name at the end and put extra emphasis on it while grinning.

Jeff Gray, who was sprawled out on the table, did what was expected. His eyelids moved like he was going to open his eyes next second, but after what seemed like a long time, that was it. Jeff Gray kept falling asleep and didn't do anything, as if he hadn't seen or heard anything.

John Taylor gave a sad shoulder shrug. He was looking forward to seeing a fight on the first day back to school. What a shame!

Ryan Dixon and Jeff Gray don't get along very well. Everyone in the second year knew about how much they hated everything else. Last year, they were both handsome and in good shape because they had just started their first year of high school. If they just stood there without doing anything, they might ruin the lives of a lot of other men. They also happened to be put into the same classes. The women who saw these two handsome men almost every day couldn't help but talk about who is more handsome and who is really the school idol. During military training, they were able to do chin-ups as well as the strict teacher, and they even diagrammed the college and won the high school basketball competition for the whole city. Their accomplishments won over the hearts of every boy and girl in high school, and their names became known all over the school. This led several senior sisters to find reasons to come back and take a look.

Just because of this, the two should be able to grow up to be smart brothers. This was the case at first. Once these two brave teens met, it was like they were finally ready to face their chess opponent, and they felt like they were in it together. But after getting to know each other for a while, they realized that there were a lot of things they had in common. Even though this might sound good, it actually made things worse.

Chris Gordon and Ryan Dixon had been together since they were in high school. It took him a long time to come up with a phrase that would describe their relationship. It could be seen as a bit of a literary trend: People fit together like puzzle pieces. Everyone has tabs and blanks, but if everyone's tabs and blanks are the same, they can't be put together.

Chris Gordon thought that the two of them were too much alike, which led to these awkward pairings. When they upset people together, it's fine, but when they don't, they can be aggressive and compete in almost everything. Because of this, they have similar personalities, so it wasn't a surprise that they also liked the same things. They would fight over the same shirt, the same video game character, and even the last piece of braised fish in the cafeteria.

The woman they like is the same, too.

Since the science and humanities majors were split up, they thought they would be put in different classes. So, there won't be sparks flying pretty much every day. But it could have been luck or the college fair. They had too much hair, so they kept tying the two together. The fates of those two people were stuck together like deep-fried, decorated dough that couldn't be pulled apart.

On the first day of school, the students didn't have enough time to change back when the bell went off to start class, and class started as usual.

The teacher stood at the front of the room, giggling and spitting saliva everywhere as the students below him listened so hard that they almost fell asleep. With the unexpectedly heavy rain pouring down outside, a good sleeping environment was made.

Chris Gordon looked at the clock on the wall above the rostrum and kept track of the minutes until school was over. He then looked out at the sky, which was getting darker and was covered in thick clouds. As soon as raindrops hit the window, he was reminded to hurry and find a classmate who had been introduced with an umbrella.

In reality, Ryan Dixon's table turned into an umbrella, but he had been distracted all day and hadn't noticed that it was raining outside. Chris Gordon also didn't think he would have an umbrella with him.

Ryan Dixon's eyebrows furrowed. His mood changed into a storm with heavy rain, just like the weather outside. It turned out to be very bad. The reason for that goes back to two days ago. He was gambling on the computer as usual when all of a sudden he heard a strange mechanical sound in his head.

"The binding of the system is done. 17-year-old Ryan Dixon. Jeff Gray has been chosen as the winner."

The strange way the voice looked shocked and scared him. Once he came back to himself, he even thought it might have been a hallucination. But he quickly showed that in his mind, there was something called a "Best Friend System" that kept trying to get him to become real friends with Jeff Gray.

Who is Jeff Gray? Does he know this Jeff Gray?

Ryan Dixon gave a cold, disapproving snort. He didn't wait to show how angry and resistant he was. But, as if that stupid gadget hadn't heard him, it kept going on and on in his mind, to the point where he wanted to get rid of it. The only problem was that the device didn't have a body, and its sounds only rang in his head.

Ryan Dixon finally couldn't take it any longer and yelled, "I won't talk about how hard it is to make friends, but why does this keep happening to me?"

It wasn't everyone else; it just happened to be that tough one. It turned out that god wanted to hurt him the most.

The machine gave a serious answer: "Based on the results of the test, you won't be friends, but you could set up an eternal relationship with him." As a new device, I want to start with easy goals before making the challenges harder step by step."

"Then you're very lucky," said Ryan Dixon with a cold laugh. As soon as you started, you chose the hard mode. Prepare to send your failure to the office once more."

The thing stopped making noise for a moment. Then, it said, "This is mostly based on the test results." It must be right."

Even though the numbers might have seemed rigid, they were also based on something. The effect Ryan Dixon had on Jeff Gray became a bit complicated. He thought at first that they would get along well, but now he might want to punch him in the face every time he sees him. No matter how he looked at him, he couldn't help but feel disgust and anger toward him.

When the last class bell rang, all of the students rushed out of the classroom and ran as fast as they could to the cafeteria to get dinner. If it hadn't been raining, it would have looked like a zombie raid.

Ryan Dixon wasn't very interested in food because he was thinking about other things. He went downstairs at his usual pace, which, compared to the rest of his classmates, looked very slow and different from his usual way.

As soon as he got to the bottom, he could see that there were a lot of people outside the door under the eaves. People who had umbrellas opened them before going out into the rain, and people who didn't have umbrellas were looking for partners quickly to get a ride. Ryan Dixon stood with the group and didn't wait any longer to leave. With the help of his side, the hand that held his umbrella came to rest. If you looked at him from a different angle, you might think wrongly that he didn't have an umbrella.

With the help of her friends, a woman with dark hair that reached her shoulders moved forward while holding an umbrella tightly. She looked down in an awkward way and whispered, "Ryan..."

But before she could finish calling his name, Ryan Dixon started walking in the opposite direction with big steps. He grabbed the hand of another male student and said in a cold voice, "I have an umbrella."

Jeff Gray almost fell on Ryan Dixon, who was standing behind him, when he lost his balance after being pulled so hard. When he turned around again, it was no surprise that his eyes showed some impatience. It sounded like it was saying, "Fuck, why are you calling me again? Don't get in my way."

A tall and lovely woman stood next to Jeff Gray. Even though she was only wearing the traditional blue and white school uniform, she was still very noticeable. Her facial features were so beautiful that when she smiled softly, it made her look even more beautiful.

When Mike Emerson saw Ryan Dixon, he made sure to wave and say hello. When Ryan Dixon replied, he nodded, and the corners of his mouth also made a soft arc.

With good-looking guys and a beautiful girl standing together, plus the fact that they are well-known college idols, many people couldn't help but sneak a peek at them.
