THE PRICE OF CHOOSING

"You are making a fool of yourself, Timothy," his father said, his voice cold and authoritative. "End this. Send her away. Apologize to Sofia. And we will pretend none of this ever happened."

Timothy stood in front of me, shielding me from their gaze. "I will not send her away. Not for any of you. Not for any amount of money."

"Let him lose," her father spat out. "If he wants to throw away his legacy for a nobody, let him. But do not expect us to stand by and watch. You are on your own, Timothy. From this moment, you are cut off."

 "Dad—"

"I said cut off!" sigaw ng matanda. "Gusto mong maging karaniwang tao?

You lost everything," I whispered, tears stinging my eyes. "All because of me."

He pulled me into his chest, resting his chin on top of my head. "I gained everything. I traded a golden cage for a life that finally breathes. Don't you see? I was rich, Ysha. But I was starving. And you... you fed my soul."

But the days that followed tested the strength of those words.

It wasn't long before the consequences hit. His access to the family funds was revoked. Several major investors pulled out. The stock price crashed. The empire he had inherited was crumbling, brick by brick, and he stood by, watching it fall—all while holding my hand.

Lumipat kami mula sa mansyon. Wala kaming ibang pagpipilian. Walang katulong. Walang drayber. Walang walang-hanggang pera. Kaming dalawa lang. At isang kinabukasang puno ng pag-aalinlangan.

The first few weeks were the hardest. I watched him—a man who had never poured his own coffee, who had never ridden a bus, who had never worried about bills—adjusting to a life of simplicity. He woke up early, looked for work, took interviews that led nowhere because his name was now tarnished. The man who once ran a corporation was now struggling to find a job that would pay the rent.

One evening, I came home from my own long shift at a small accounting firm I had found. The apartment was quiet. I found him sitting on the small balcony, staring out at the city lights, his shoulders slumped. Beside him were stacks of rejection letters.

"Maaari kang bumalik. Maaari mong sabihin na nagkamali ka lang. Maiintindihan ko."

He turned to look at me, his eyes tired but clear. "And what would I be going back to, Ysha? A cold bed? A silent house? A life where I am respected but never loved? No. I would rather sit here with you, poor and struggling, than live in that palace alone."

"But look at what we've become," I whispered, wiping the tears that escaped. "You were a king. And now..."

"And now I am free," he finished for me, taking my hand and pressing it to his lips. "Do you remember what you said? That love is the only thing money cannot buy? Well, I have it. I have you. And that makes me the richest man in the world."

"We will build it back," he promised, his voice steady, his eyes burning with determination. "Not because of my name. Not because of my family. But because of us. We will start from zero. And we will make it ours."

 And so we began.

One night, as we sat on the floor of our small living room, going over his business plans, he paused and looked at me. The room was dimly lit by a single lamp, casting soft shadows on his face.

"They say I threw away my life," he said quietly. "But looking at you... I think I finally started living it."

I leaned forward and kissed him, soft and slow. A kiss that tasted of hard work, of shared struggles, of a love that had survived the fall of an empire.

"You didn't throw it away," I whispered against his lips. "You saved it."

Timothy Lancaster had lost his fortune. But in exchange, he had found his soul. And I... I had found a man who loved me enough to lose everything just to call me his.

As he pulled me close, resting his head against mine, watching the stars appear above the city skyline, I knew one thing for certain: whatever the future held, we would face it together. Not as a billionaire and his assistant. Not as a scandal. But as two people who had chosen each other, above all else.

 And that, was worth

every single thing we had lost.

The next morning, I arrived at the office early. I left my resignation letter on his desk. No title. Not many words.Timothy,I'm sorry that I have to leave. I love you, which is exactly why I have to set you free. Perhaps one day, in another time, under different circumstances... we can be together without hiding.Goodbye. "Ysha!"His voice. Breathless. Filled with panic. "What does this mean?" his voice shook as he held up my le

She gave me a cold, assessing look before turning her gaze to Timothy."Why was the door closed?" she asked, her tone laced with suspicion. "And why do you both look as though you were in such a hurry?"Tumayo ako nang tuwid, pinipilit na maging propesyonal kahit na ang tuhod ko ay nanginginig. "I will be heading back to my desk now, Sir, Madam Lancaster," I said, my voice barely audible. But before I could take a step, Timothy spoke. "Stay, Ysha. We haven't finished discussing the project."Nagulat ako. Bakit ayaw niya akong paalisin? Sofia walked toward the desk, her eyes never leaving mine. "Discussing a project until this late hour?" Every word felt like a dagger. "Or were you discussing something else entirely?""Sofia," Timothy said firmly. "Don't be ridiculous. This is work.""Work," she repeated, unconvinced. She moved closer to him, and right before my eyes, she wrapped her arms around him and kissed his cheek,

  • LOVING A MARRIED BILLIONAIRE   FORBIDDEN DESIRE

His arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me flush against him, and before I could even gasp, his lips were on mine. It wasn’t gentle, not at first. It was desperate, hungry, like a man who had been wandering in the desert for years and had finally found water. It was all the words he couldn’t say, all the feelings he had buried deep inside, crashing to the surface all at once. I melted against him, my hands fisting in the fabric of his suit jacket, kissing him back with everything I had kept locked away for three years. Every quiet night, every stolen glance, every sigh I had swallowed—they all poured into that kiss. It was wrong. It was forbidden. He was another woman’s husband. But in that moment, nothing else existed. Not the world outside. Not the scandal waiting to happen. Not the consequences that would inevitably follow. Just him. Just us.

  • LOVING A MARRIED BILLIONAIRE   THE MOMENT EVERYTHING CHANGED

The city skyline outside the floor-to-ceiling windows of Timothy Lancaster’s office was already painted in deep shades of orange and violet, signaling the end of another long day. But inside these four walls, time seemed to have stopped. The air was still, thick with a silence that felt heavier than usual, charged with something unspoken that had been building up for weeks—maybe even years. Timothy Lancaster. Thirty-two years old. CEO of Lancaster Corporation. One of the most powerful men in the country. And my boss. And he was married. Married to Sofia Velez, in a union
