Three

**Kira’s POV**

“No!” I snapped.

Aiden stood rooted to the floor, staring at me in shock. I couldn't believe this. This wasn't what I bargained for. I can remember vividly that nothing of this sort happened two years ago.

In fact, I hadn't been able to sense my mate at all, therefore the reason I had agreed to be with Chad. Aiden couldn’t sense me either because if he had, he would have come for me a long time ago. I wouldn't have ended up with Chad and gotten into this shit.

“Kira, I rushed in the moment I heard the cinema had caught fire. Are you alright?” He asked, pretending to be oblivious to what was going on. He must've felt exactly what I'm feeling right now but was obviously trying to hide it.

Seriously? Out of everyone, out of all the guys in my life, the moon goddess chose Aiden as my mate? Aiden? If I recall correctly, 2 years ago before I was reborn, Aiden only saved me. I didn't get his scent, and there was nothing that showed he was my mate.

Why now?

I thought things were supposed to happen exactly the way they did 2 years ago. This mating thing is absurd! I can't be mated to Aiden. He was my bully and in turn, I had punished him severally using my affluence in our pack.

Everyone in school knew Aiden had a thing for me, but considering myself as the Alpha's daughter and him a mere immigrant, he didn’t bother to make his feelings known to me.

I didn't like him one bit either and took every little opportunity I had to embarrass and make him suffer. Even though I treated him like a piece of shit, he was still nice to me and would occasionally playfully bully me.

I couldn’t understand why I was mated to him now… it was infuriating!

I started laughing hysterically. “This is some kind of sick joke, right? The moon goddess now actually plays around with people huh?” I laughed again.

“Kira, it's dangerous here. You have to come with me.” He held my wrist, but I yanked his hands off.

“Don't you dare touch me again. Who do you think you are, huh?” I snapped and, as always, he said nothing.

“Kira, there is smoke everywhere. If we don't get out of here, you might get affected. Let me save you. When we're out of here, then we will settle whatever is going on.” He cooed.

“I don't need you to save me, Aiden. I can save myself.” I turned and was about to leave when I tripped. Aiden was quick enough to catch me and the moment my body made contact with his, sparks ignited, my stomach churned at the feeling.

His scent attacked my nostrils harder this time, and I couldn't stop myself from inhaling more.

Before I knew it, Aiden carried me in his arms and started exiting the place. I was unable to say anything and just looked at his flawless facial features.

He had these deep ocean blue eyes that were starting to draw me in. His aquiline nose matched perfectly with his rosy lips. I didn't know how, but the sudden urge came for me to touch those lips. I was about to do as I had pictured when he dropped me down.

“Stay here while I go find Sophia.” He said.

“She is safe already. She'll come meet us here.” I chimed in quickly, hoping that she would burn in the fire.

“You can't be so sure.” He rushed in.

I facepalmed when I remembered the funny things that happened to my body a few minutes ago. It annoyed me that I felt bad when he dropped me. A sudden feeling of cold had washed over me the moment he dropped me from his arms.

“Hi, you look lost.”

My wolf growled angrily, threatening to burst out and devour him. We knew this voice anywhere, even though it wasn't as deep as it was 2 years after now—Chad.

I turned to look at him. He had that seductive smile plastered on his face and I couldn't wait to turn it upside down.

I cleared my throat and tucked a strand of hair behind my ears. On this day two years ago, I had gawked at his plump lips and gray eyes. Chad was good-looking, and you could get lost, staring at him all day, but right now, his good looks meant nothing to me.

“How may I help you?” I asked plainly.

I saw his eyes widen in shock for a second before covering it up with a smile.

Everyone in the pack knew how shy I was. It was part of the reason my dad's beta and the elders suggest I got married first before ascending my father's throne.

For now, the beta was ruling as a substitute, but he should beware because his time is up. I won't repeat my mistakes twice. They've done a lot of bad things and I have ignored them in the past but not now.

“I was hoping to get to know you,” He said.

I looked into his eyes and grinned. “Everybody in this pack knows me. I am the Alpha's daughter. What other way do you want to know me?” I asked.

“You're misunderstanding me. I like you and want to know you more.” He flashed me that smile that used to send butterflies down my stomach, but I grimaced.

Aiden came out, panting heavily. “I couldn't find Sophia.” He rushed out.

I averted my gaze to him and sighed. “That's why I always call you a moron. Sophia will come by her—”

“Guys!” Sophia yelled, running towards us.

“You were right.” Aiden chuckled.

When she got to where we stood, I watched hers and Chad’s body language, paying attention to every single detail. She looked at him seductively, while he winked in return. So, this was how it all started.

Both of you will perish in my hands.

“Kira, are you alright?” Sophia asked, but I didn't answer. I was too lost in my own world to answer.

“I am Chad , nice to meet you,” He tucked a piece of paper into my hands. “Call me.” He walked away.

I shook my head, realizing how stupid I was two years ago because the moment I got home, I gave him a call. This time, I squeezed the paper and threw it away.

“Kira!” Sophia whined.

I glared at her and turned to look at Aiden, but as soon as my eyes met his, my gaze softened. “Thanks.” I muttered and walked away.

I'm aware they must have been wondering how I changed overnight. They should, because I have many surprises in stock for them.

I walked straight to the palace, knowing fully well that the beta would be in a meeting with the pack elders. It'd be good that way because I want them to witness my declaration. When I got to the palace, I ignored all greetings and stormed into the throne room.

Beta Marcus looked in shock at the way I entered.

“Kira, why did you barge in like that?” He snapped.

Avoiding his question, I turned and faced the elders. “I'm glad you are all here because I want you all to be a witness to what I’m about to do.” I said.

“What's that?” Beta Marcus asked.

“Beta Marcus, I am here to take over my father's throne and become the Luna of this pack, and so I want you to step down for me.” I said, and they all gasped.
