LYCAN TWINS WAR

Chapter 1

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. My parents had kept a baby picture of me hidden.

My parents lied to me about the fact that I have a twin brother. I was sitting on my bed, staring at the picture with pain in my heart. How could they be so cruel to us? I sat there staring at the picture for what seemed like hours. As my mother opened my door, I jumped. I tried to conceal the photograph, but it was too late; she had seen it.

"How come you didn't tell me?" As she sighed, I demanded.

"To keep him safe," my mother explained as I frowned.

"I'm not convinced!" As she frowned, I yelled loudly.

"I don't care one bit if you don't believe me, but you can't tell anyone about you and your brother!" She snapped, yanking the photo from my grip. When I saw Gary the Alpha, I got up and followed her down stairs. As my mother handed me the picture, I quickly ducked. As he looked at her, she smiled. "What exactly are you doing here?"

"I heard you can tell when one or both of the Lycans are nearby," he said as her smile faded.

"I'm sorry, but that's not true," she said as they tightened their grip. I could sense his rage and impatience.

"If you don't tell me, I'll kill you, your husband, and little Laura before the pack," he growled as she flinched.

"I have no idea what you're talking about!" He grabbed her throat and she yelled. I gasped, desperately wanting to help her but knowing I couldn't. I crept back into my bedroom. I shut the door gently. I took out my phone and texted my father to warn him to stay away. I touched my necklace, wishing I could use it to help, but my mother warned me against using it. I know I need to find my brother in order to assist him, and if I help her, I might never find him. When I heard her screams, I knew she was being murdered.

"You must find them, Jason. You are the only one I know who can kill them!" Gary abruptly hung up the phone. As I slid under my bed, hot tears streamed down my cheeks. I held my breath as Gary ran through the house. He entered my room and opened the closet.

"I know you're here, Laura, and I won't hurt you." I paused before deciding that the only way out was to come out. Because of my mother, he has no idea I'm a powerful Lycan. She taught me to turn when the moon was full and to be cautious when it wasn't. She also taught me how to control my strength.

"Please don't hurt me, Gary," I stammered as he smirked. He circled me as he walked forward, touching my golden hair which scared the life out of me.

"Laura, I'd like for you to join my guard," he said, making me frown briefly.

"I'm only seventeen," I said quietly, as he laughed.

"So you're one of the pack's best fighters. Only you could outperform my beta, "As I pondered what to do, he said.

"Fine, but only if you spare my father," I said firmly, my lips pressed together in a tight line.

"Let's go," he said, grabbing my arm and pulling me downstairs. He dragged me over to his jeep and shoved me into the passenger seat. He sped to his house, which resembled a fortress. He parked inside next to his beta, who also happens to be his wife.

"Where should I change into proper guard uniform?" As he motioned a guard over, I inquired. I gulped, knowing that staying here posed a significant risk to my safety. If even one person noticed my birthmark, they'd know. The birthmark was in the shape of a wolf's head and was located on my left shoulder blade.

"Larry will show you," Gary said as he stepped away from me. I got out of the jeep following Larry. He had dark hair and piercing blue eyes. He handed me a black tank top, black tight pants, and black combat boots. I grabbed a thin black jacket and pulled it on. I couldn't stop laughing at their color choice.

"What do I do all day, Larry?" I inquired as I exited the restroom.

"Shadow his wife," Larry said, prompting me to enter the main house in search of Brenda. I looked around until I came across Gary and Brenda in the library. My anxiety increased when I realized they were looking into Gemini Lycans. As they read book after book, I stood against the wall next to another guard.

"Are you certain that no one in this pack had twins that we were unaware of?" Brenda asked, turning Gary's attention to me.

"Do you know who had twins, Laura?" He inquired, and I could tell he was going to examine my response with suspicion.

"No, sir, if I had, I would have told you," I insisted, hoping he couldn't tell I was lying.

"See, no one in the pack knows of any twins," he said as Brenda returned to her book.

"Hey, I found something," she said as she flipped the book around. "It's only a knife that can hurt a Gemini Lycan."

"I've seen it before," he said, his gaze drawn to mine. "At Laura's place!"

"Sir, if you like, I can go get it," I said softly, hoping he wouldn't test it on me.

"Take Larry with you," he said as I descended the stairs and entered the courtyard. I discovered Larry calling to him.

"We're going to Gary's house to get a special knife," I explained as he handed me a set of keys. "Are we riding the motorcycles?"

"Yes, let's go," he said as he led me to the bikes. I was hoping to start it up. I put on a helmet and dashed out of the compound. As we sped toward my house, my hair whipped behind me. I jumped off the bike and dashed into the house, pausing when I saw my mother staring at me blankly. I took a deep breath before entering my mother's room and grabbing the knife, being careful not to touch the blade. I approached Larry and handed it to him.

"Here it is," I said as I hopped back on the bike. I considered running as I drove, but instead continued to the compound. I had no way out of my current situation and had no idea how I was going to save myself…
