Chapter Six

"Sarin!" no answer came my way.

"Marco," I waited and moved around the darkness "Marco, " I was waiting to hear a polo.

It took a bit more calling out of  Marco's before I got a polo back.

"We played games like this before you died. We had both lived through our lives but now I have more and I can share mine with you so we don't always have to be here. Though we do have to come back to let our minds wander. Also to recover."

"Touch me, I need to feel you." We fumbled but after a while, we found where the other was with some more talking. He held me close to his chest like I was going to vanish again. "I missed not having you. I went on that killing spree because I knew that the law wasn't going to be lifted in time to truly make a difference." Sarin whispered to me.

"Sarin what if we never go into the light till we all die what would happen then?"

"We die and we don't have an afterlife because our life energy went into the witches but you believed that if they spread your life energy to all of them and put more of one of us into a singular person we could live through them fuck with their minds till they expelled us. You had a belief that since they wanted our life force to become pure. Once our life force was out of them they would die."

"Did I believe in that?" I said moving my fingers along his chest in a way that felt like I had always done. Sarin grabbed my hand. "You did that we would go to heaven and they would go to hell or wherever they were meant to go because and I quote, "If they wagered power for life energy they are too evil to fix. They make too many awful deals." To which I thought over for three days and then out of the blue laughed my ass off."

"I was probably confused."

"You were. I had to remind you of the comment you made. I kept thinking about it and laughing all day long. Drove you a little crazy.”

"So the house we met Mitchell in did we go there twice?"

"We did go there twice. It was a calculated move that we agreed on and the house was always open for use. The second time there we had a very hot and heavy bonding session." it seemed like Sarin was trying to be PG but I wasn't going to.

"You mean we bonded over a hot and heavy session of sex," I said

"You never could call it strong bonding you always had to call it sex. It seems so vulgar when you say that your having sex with yourself that just so happens to be in the opposites sexes body." Sarin was pulling me closer to his chest then seemed physically possible.

"What other games did we play in the darkness?" I asked

"We played hide and seek though I always found you in the weirdest places you always found me by stumbling over me." Sarin pulled away but kept my hold of my hands. "We're going to wake soon though.

"Okay."

Soon we were awake. Carden was dressing and Sarin was moving off of our makeshift bed.

"How did the two of you sleep?" Carden asked.

"We didn't sleep," Sarin said as he got up and was helping me. "We were in the darkness, however, if I could have shared my memories we would have done that."

"Did you share memories when she found you outside? " Carden grabbed for me as I went to get dressed in something other than the underwear I had on the whole other day.

"Sadly it was a memory of Belladonna, but she was submerged into the memories, not just a visit that we did together that you watched over. When she met with me outside was uncontrolled, she could have seen a great deal and what you watched was controlled." Sarin said

I was still trying to get dressed but once Sarin said what I could have seen alone was me submerged, experienced it all, and seeing many different things his grip loosen and I went to get dressed. Once I was dressed in a band-tee and skinny jeans I was out of the closet and into Sarin's arms.

"Where's Carden?" I asked

"With his sister talking, she came in a hurry to the room. Carden seemed worried about what could've come out of her mouth and ran out of the room with her."

"Let's eat and find my brothers," I said. Of course, I was feeling worried about Carden and Blake. Blake was a very gifted royal ancient vampire, but something just felt wrong and Blake would know what it would be.

"Would you like me to make some soup?" Sarin asked as he picked me up and spun me.

I giggled, "Yes I'd like it very much." He let me down and we raced to the kitchen. I was the winner but only because I flashed Sarin my boobs to stop him from running.

My brothers were eating their food and gave Sarin and I nodded as we came in. "How are you two holding up with all this life force of power being thrown around?"

"It's hard but we just keep out of the four of you and we don't feel like you're out to kill us," Grant said and Beck didn't seem to fully agree.

"You were supposed to say it's hard but we're glad you have your other half Blair, that your stronger and whole." Beck was always trying to make Grant a little bit more soft around the edges.

"Well both are equally true, there is no way for us to not send out our power. I do know that Blake could control it however she is keeping this place hidden very well and keeping watch over it so that if we get an attack we should know beforehand. Once the threat is gone her power being sent out shouldn't be a problem with ours." Sarin said as he made the soup.

"Why can't you two control it as they can?" Beck asked as he came and sat by me on the island.

"Because we are not in the same body. Our powers are split and are trying to connect to them and are drawn out of us to seek out the other half. Closing the physical distance helps the amount being drawn out but to completely pull it into ourselves we have to have heavy bonding. There were reports of mated in-betweens not

Beck gave me a look at heavy bonding. "Does he mean blood exchanges or something else?"

"He means sex Beck, though a blood exchange would cut back on it that can only happen when Carden takes both of us as his beloveds."

Grant spit out his food. "You can't be serious Blair that's the stupidest thing I've ever come out of your mouth. A vampire can only have one beloved."

"That's true they can only have one but in our case of being in-betweens we are not in one body we are in two making us one beloved to the vampire we are beloved too," Sarin said as he put the pot of soup on the stove to heat "in-betweens beloveds can only be to vampires never humans or the in-betweens powers would mean exposure which was never the insistence of the gods. So when I went to kill the in-between killer clan I was saving both in-betweens and the vampires that could find their beloveds I'm aware of the rejected beloved laws. But they don't affect in-betweens the same way. Normally they would become blood whores but in-betweens are killed by the law of our language we are not blood whores because we can reproduce with our other half in many cases and have a full vampire," He was grabbing us bowls and spoon and dishing the soup out for the two of us. I didn't care for a spoon I just drank it out of the bowl, "so in this case of being rejected our other half becomes our beloved so long as we are alive."

"Wouldn't the vampire children you reproduce be subjected to birth defects?" Beck asked.

"No Beck our children would not have birth defects caused by Blair and me because we don't have the same parents. Plus she is a reincarnation. This makes her twice removed from my genetics. However, if it was the case that we were born to the same parents no birth defects would come about in our children. It would be like a parthenogenesis birth."  Sarin said as he ate his soup I had finished eating mine and was using my spoon to get the rest out of the pot and then I was licking it clean. I wasn't going to let it go to waste.

"That makes scenes," Beck said getting up kissed my forehead and gave us a wave good-bye as he and Grant left the room.

Soon after Blake and Carden rushed into the kitchen, "We have to go to the attic and talk." I hadn't gone to the attic or knew there was one here. Once there I could see it was a room that was full of windows but there was an illusion of brick wall so from the outside all one saw was the nice brick finish and not the onlookers from inside. I could see straight away what was the problem outside...

I had fainted and so had Sarin. I could tell from the heavy breathing of his as he picked himself up from the ground in the darkness. There was color coming into the darkness from what looked like the scene outside the mansion, there were men and women dressed to the nines in armor and weapons. They were not moving towards the mansion yet as if they were waiting for something or someone to trigger their movement.

Sarin and I stayed still and close together. When we woke we were on the hard floor of the attic. I could now make out Blake arguing with Carden, "You can't move and you can't help them up. Where they went was outside and they were watched."

Sarin was up before me but moved slowly to help me up. We all slowly exited the room. Carden pulled me and Sarin close to him in a smashing group embrace.

"It...is hard...to breath," I said and soon I was free. I saw flashes of the army of people out there all vampires out to kill Carden and me.

I felt a great amount of anger power running through my body. My tattoos were giving off a strong health glow and so was Sarin.

I just started walking through the mansion and come across the room I could feel a strong pull towards. It was an armory Carden and Blake come in behind Sarin and I.

"You're not going out there to fight," Carden said grabbing my arm.

"You don't get to decide that Carden," Blake said rummaging through a chest of women's armor. Different weapons were on the wall above it.

Sarin made Carden let go of my arm. Towards Carden, he said, "I'll have her back. I can't lose her this time either." Blake lead me to a dressing rise to dress me.

"I outgrow this set because my breast grows right after I had them commissioned but they should do you some good." She made sure I had every weapon I could carry with the addition of the armor.

"I like an array of weaponry, but go over to that dummies and try out all the ones I set you up with, and then I'll take away the unwanted ones." I nodded and went to work seeing which one I seemed to have a gift for.

I was sweating from every pore on my small body I had found a liking to the short sword and a katana. Blake thought it would be fitting to add some throwing knives. Sarin and Carden were already and Blake was all dressed to the nines for this battle. My brothers were on the far side of the room sheathing their weapons. My body was still flowing with raging angry power therefore my tattoos were a bright healthy glow.

Carden leads us to a wall but then pushed a secret button that moved the wall in two and reviled a doorway to outside. I'd passed the wall what feels like a thousand times. I guess anything to keep me safe and most of all alive. I was getting sick of being locked up and I felt more anger building as I walked through the threshold.

Sarin was by me in the joined at the hip kind of way. He had throwing knives, short sword, and an O Katana slightly longer than mine. I guess more than I realized we are the same person in different bodies. We come to the middle of the field where two people were standing.

"You're harboring in-betweens and yourself  are breaking a law that you made." One man said

"I've abolished that law because they are my beloveds. If your mate was in danger because of the law to what length would you go to? To war, death, the deepest jail. I'm sure you would do all that and more I'm I right."

"You may be of the ancient royal vampire but you are not above the laws you make. Even if the law was abolished we had our orders well beforehand. Sadly we'll have to fight to see if you keep your beloveds or not even though if I was mated I would do the same and more as you said before." the man said.

"Fine to the death," I said my voice echoing and shook the ground and we walked back to the other side of the field.

The sky went from a pleasant day to a raging snowstorm of death. Hail the size of cars were coming down on the other side of the field on the army. As they first came down they killed at least 20 of their forces. Carden whispered to me, "Sarin and you are doing that storm, keep it going just don't hit the four of us, and if any of them get to close to you kill them." Then they were all running in blurs.

They had killed most of the forces killed by the time any got past them to Sarin and I.  We both took our short swords and our versions of the katana. We mirrored each other as we attack the same person and the person off to our outer side. They died before the next round of people even took a step towards us as Carden ripped their hearts out behind them.  We resumed bringing car-sized hale down on the attackers.

An hour later

As I drew my sword across the last attacker's throat blood splattered my face and body. Sarin and Carden were on either side of me.  Blake was moving from the other side of the field with Grant and Beck. I felt no one else but Sarin was as tired as me as I fainted. I felt Carden catch me and I could feel the warmth of Sarin as he had caught us both.

I was clean and in our makeshift bed with Sarin. I could hear Carden sleeping in his bed above us at the foot of his bed as if he was watching us before the wear of the battle drained him as well. The room was lit only by the fire, warm shadows flickered across Sarin and I. I stirred and Carden was up and beside me. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine just hungry, but Sarin always makes me the best soup." Carden sat down close to me almost pulling me into his lap.

"When you both fainted my heart felt like it stopped at I had to have you both safely in my arms."

"I'm sorry Carden, I don't know why it happens. I'm so hungry." It was like I was completely parched in a sandpaper kind of way. I felt like my voice was coming out all parched.

Sarin was up and holding me from behind. I felt the heat from their bodies at the core of my being. My body was starving and I just wanted to bite into Carden. I could feel it coming off of Sarin as well. It was so overwhelming that I started to cry. Carden caressed my face in his hand.

"Please don't cry, Blair." I pushed his hand away.

"Please I don't feel right I'm so hungry. I want food." Sarin was grabbing me into a strong hug.

"You know that's not the reason you feel this way," Sarin whispered to me. He faced Carden.

"She's hungry and even though I think it's something else it will help her calm down and I'll work on it as well." Carden nodded and left.

"I don't want to Sarin, there are still so many questions. I don't feel safe with him when it's just him and I. There are always going to be people out there that want so badly to hurt and undermine Carden."

"I'm your other half Blair-Boo, you'll never going to be without me. We're together now which means we're stronger. We can defeat anyone that thinks they can kill or undermine us or even Carden. Those things you're still unsure about him, I'm here to sort them out with you."

I was just still sobbing, I was feeling the white fire burning again in my head. Sarin moved me to face him and kissed my forehead. "We're safe for now. You're more than loved here with your brothers, Blake, and even with Carden. Me especially." He said that with a cocky grin.

I gave a small laugh and my runny nose blow out a bubble of buggers. Carden walked in with blood laden food. Saw my runny nose and was by me with a tissue in a second.

"Blow," Carden kept his hand there until I moved it away. I muttered thanks since I was fixated on food. Sarin got up and went to talk with Carden outside of the room.
