I could breath a lot better by the time the car rolled to a stop in front of Delilah's condo.

Bernard, Marco, Lucian and Marcel all came out to escort me into the building, their eyes searching around the vicinity for any suspicious activity, their guns tucked under their coats.

It made me feel like I was an oh so important person. And maybe I was, seeing as I was currently engaged to the most powerful man in the city.

I grew antsy, panicking a little at the thought of seeing Delilah again. She had ignored all my messages and rejected all my calls and the aching sting of loss was eating its way into my heart.
