LOGIN"Hey, are you coming home for dinner later?" I asked Psyche as soon as I saw her coming down the stairs. "Uhmm. No. I'm having dinner with Char later. Bye!" She immediately answered before rushing out to her car, while I could only stare and sigh as the door closed behind her. I don't know why, but I could feel that she's been avoiding me for a couple of weeks now. At first, I didn't really notice because I was busy with exams and training, but now I can definitely feel the shift in how she acts around me. I can't help but stare at her as she sits at the corner table of the cafeteria alone."Are you really just gonna stare at her?" Terrence asked as he sat beside me."Shut up." I said as I stood up. "Let's go! We're gonna be late for training." I dragged him out of the cafeteria, and just as we were going out, Sebastian walked past us with a smirk on his face. I followed him with my eyes, and he went straight to Psyche's table. I was about to walk back, but was stopped and dragged
Awkward is an understatement! I could feel Eros and Charlotte trying to psych each other out, but no one dared to say anything, especially Terrence. "I'll get the white wine!" I said before getting up and finally feeling at ease from the tension between the two. "I'll help you!" I heard Terrence say, and soon I felt his presense behind me. "I didn't know it would be this awkward!" He whispered as we took some glasses from the cupboards."What did you expect when you told Char our address?" I whispered back at him emphasizing every word, to let him know that he's not off the hook."She coerced me into telling her. It's not my fault that she's very persuasive." He said, scratching the back of his head as he blushed while staring at nothing. "You like Charlotte?" I asked in an amused hushed tone. My eyes lit up at the opportunity to tease him, and he just blushed even more. "Oh my god! You like her!" I said, almost jumping up and down in excitement."Stop it! She'll hear you!" Terrenc
"Here, put some ice on it. It will heal on its own." The school nurse said, handing a cold compress to Eros, but I immediately grabbed it from him. He looked at me, confused as I reached for his face and angled it with his slightly swollen cheek facing me. I started dabbing the cold compress on it as gently as I could. I really felt guilty about what happened to him. He wouldn't be here right now if he hadn't helped me last night. "That looks so painful." I said as I felt him wince under my touch."Nah. I told you, your boyfriend has a weak punch." I scoffed at his arrogance even at a time like this and lightly punched his shoulder."EX-BOYFRIEND!" I corrected him. The idea of me being with Sebastian repulses me so much that I don't want to be associated with him in any way, shape, or form."Clearly, he didn't get the memo. Honestly, what did you see in that guy?" Eros playfully said to me as I finished dabbing his cheek. "I'm asking myself that too, honestly." I said, shaking my h
"You good?" I asked Psyche as we were cruising along the highway on the way home. I felt her nod, but I also felt her shallow breaths and heard her sniffles in the midst of the silent road that we're taking. And then an idea popped into my head, and so I sped up. "This is not the way to the house. Where are you taking me, Eros?" She asked, confused, and still stifling her sobs."You'll see." I said to her, and she just nodded and lay her head on my back as we rode up the mountainside. "We're here." I said, taking my helmet off, and she immediately went down the bike. "Wow." Her voice was in awe, and I couldn't help but smile a little as she stood there, helmet in hand, facing the side of the mountain that was overlooking the whole city and the beach. "It's beautiful.""Yeah. Beautiful." The words just slipped out of my mouth as I stared at her figure, taking in the view. She turned to look at me with a now-genuine smile plastered across her tear-stained face. "Secret hiding spot?"
"Thanks for the ride." She forced a smile on her face as she took off the helmet. "I guess now I know why you like riding this thing so much.""What do you mean?" I asked curiously at her as I put my things away."The way you can swerve through the roads. The air brushing through your skin." She paused for a second and smiled genuinely this time, looking at the helmet she had just taken off. "I don't know, but I felt free. Thanks again." And before I could say another word, she had already placed the helmet on my motorbike and was already walking inside our house. The next few days after that night were strangely unremarkable. Psyche has been quiet lately, clearly, she hasn't been herself. She's always inside her room when she's at home, and she would do anything to just avoid anyone while in school. "Charlotte. Where's Hana? I've been trying to contact her, but she's not answering any of my messages or calls." I heard Sebastian's voice echo through the cafeteria as he stood in fron
I noticed her as soon as she stepped into that club. I'm not sure whether to thank or be angry at her best friend for letting her wear that sinful red dress. She has been avoiding me since that night, and honestly, I can't blame her. I don't know exactly what I'm feeling towards her, but one thing is clear: I want her. That night, I almost wanted to unwrap her and mark her right there in the kitchen. And that feeling intensified when I found out that Sebastian was her boyfriend."Earth to Mav.""What?" My focus went back to the idiots in front of me, and all of them have girls wrapped around their bodies, except one, my best friend, Terrence. "You've been out of it since earlier tonight. You, the great Maverick Tanner, have been giving the cold shoulder to all the girls who approached you tonight.""Are we turning a new leaf?""Or maybe you already have eyes on your prey tonight?""Shut up, Rence. I'm just not in the mood tonight.""Ohh. I see." I looked back at him and saw that he
