LOGIN“Tanner!”
I almost choked on my own saliva as Charlotte yelled in the middle of the cafeteria. And just like that, all eyes gravitated to us. And that was the last thing I wanted. While both Sebastian and Charlotte love the limelight, I was never comfortable with the attention.
“Grey? How can I help you?” Of course, he knows her. Why am I even surprised?
My eyes met his and a playful smirk appeared on his lips at the sight of me squirming behind my best friend. And I almost forgot that this jerk also loves being the center of attention, especially when it comes to girls. I couldn't stop my eyes from rolling at him and just averted my gaze.
“Just one thing.”
And silence filled the whole cafeteria as Charlotte’s palm smacked the smile out of Eros’ face. Everyone was staring at them. Students, staff, and even professors stopped everything they were doing and watched like it was a new show on a streaming app.
“That’s for my friend. And this one is for all the other girls you have messed with.”
But the second slap didn’t go Charlotte’s way. Eros caught her hand and lightly cracked his neck before looking down at my best friend, but Charlotte didn’t back down. She harshly pulled her hand back, making her fall back a little, but I was able to catch her.
“Are you okay?” I whispered to her as I pushed her up, and she just gave me her sweetest smile.
“Yeah.”
And that’s when I felt it. The same heat I felt last night. I looked up and saw Eros already standing in front of Charlotte as I steadied her.
“The only girls that I allow to slap me are the girls I’ve bedded. And since you’re not one, I guess you owe me one, Grey.” He said, smirking, his eyes looking past Charlotte and catching my gaze.
“In your dreams, Tanner.” My best friend retorted back at him, pushing him, but clearly she wasn't strong enough and she ended up backing up to me, making me lose my balance.
"What's going on? Back off, Maverick." I felt someone's hand on my waist, steadying me before pulling me behind him.
"It's none of your business, Sebastian."
Eros smirked, and his eyes went past Sebastian and landed on me again."It is my business if you're harassing my girlfriend and her best friend."
"Girlfriend... I see." My heart was beating out of my chest when his devilish smile appeared across his face. I slightly shook my head a him, pleading for him not to say anything.
He lightly chuckled before raising his hands and taking a step back. He threw another smile at us before turning his back on us, walking away with his teammates, and waving at us.
"Are you okay, babe?" I took a deep breath as I felt Sebastian touch my face. I didn't even know I was holding my breath.
"Yeah. I'm fine."
"How about you, Charlotte?" Seb asked after making sure I was okay.
"You and your hero complex! It wasn't your business, Sebastian! We don't need your saving! We can fight our own battles!" Charlotte was fuming, mainly because the situation didn't go her way. "I'll see you later, Psyche."
"Ungrateful b*tch." He muttered under his breath as soon as Charlotte walked out, but I heard it loud and clear.
"Hey! Don't call her that!" I yelled at Sebastian as soon as he said those words.
"Fine. But I still don't get why you're friends with her. Aside from being crazy, she's reckless, irresponsible, and a very bad influence to you."
"Charlotte is just being Charlotte. And I thought we already talked this through. She's my friend, that's that. You're my boyfriend, but that doesn't give you any say on who I can befriend or not."
"Sorry, okay? I'm just concerned. I don't want you to get into trouble because of her."
"I can handle myself, okay? Charlotte might be a bit out there, but I know she always has my back. So, just play nice."
"Fine... Fine... Fine... I can play nice with her." He said as we reached my car.
“Drive safely, babe. I still have some group work to take care of, so I might go home late.” He said, leaning into the open window of my car as I started the engine.
“Yeah. Message me when you get home?” I asked, giving him a kiss on his cheek.
“Yeah. Bye, Hana.”
I pulled out of my parking spot, and as I was about to drive off when something, or more like someone caught my attention. Eros had his back leaning on his motorbike as some red hair girl was clinging on to him while they were making out in the middle of the parking lot.
My eyes met his and that's when I knew something was wrong with me... I imagined myself being the girl on him, kissing him.
"You okay?" I immediately asked Psyche as soon as we got home. Tonight was interesting to say the least. "I'm really sorry, I didn't know Heather was gonna come." "Its okay, I'm just tired. Good night." And she scampered up the stairs into her room. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a cold can of beer, sat on the kitchen counter as I loosen the buttons on my shirt. I can't help but smile and laugh as I recall the events that happened tonight.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I knew by the moment I saw Heather that she and Pheobe were gonna cause trouble. By the looks of it, none of my family members, except for my grandfather and me, knows that Psyche is also from a well-off family. Since we didn't lie to my grandfather about how we met, I guess everyone just assumed that she's struggling with finances that's why she rented my place for cheap.Heather and Pheobe kept making remarks about that and I was honestly shocked
"So... you finally met your match." I smiled as another cousin greeted us as we entered the living room of a huge mansion that belonged to none other than Eros' grandfather. "Nice to see you too, Mason." Eros replied sarcastically as he shoved his cousin playfully. I felt Eros pull me closer to him. "Too close, Tanner." I whispered to him as I elbowed his side."We have to make them believe, housemate." He replied and just softly kissed my temple and pulled me even closer to him.I felt a little jolt in my chest with his every little gesture towards me as we navigated through his family gathering. His cousins are friendly enough and would rope me in conversations that I mostly enjoyed taking part in, except for the questions about my family, which one of them kept bringing up."So, Hana, what did you say your family does?" Everyone turned to look at Phoebe as she eyed me curiously. I felt my smile slip for a second and was about to answer her but Eros swopped in."What's with the in
"Taxi driver? What are you talking about, Psyche?" Eros suddenly asked snapping me out of my thoughts. "The night I came home... crying... I came back from my dad's house." I started.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I was planning on going back to the house that day, when Sebastian decided to inject himself in my life again. He suddenly came to my table with a wide smirk on his face. I've also been ignoring him since I broke up with him and I just can't help but roll my eyes at him."What do you want, Sebastian?" I mumbled as he leaned on our table. "Your dad wants you to come to dinner tonight. And before you shoo me away, he said it has to do with your mom." He then turned his back and statred walking before he turned back to me. "I'll pick you up at Charlotte. 6 PM. See you, sweetheart.""Are you going with him?" Char asked and I nodded at her."If it has something to do with mom, I wouldn't be
"Mav!" I looked around and saw Terrence racing towards me. I was leaning on my car waiting for Psyche so we can go home. "Sebas.... tian... dragging... Hana...." It took a couple of seconds before his words hit me. "Where did he take her?" I asked, shaking my friend violently."Stu...dent... council... office..." He said still trying to catch his breath. I sprinted away from him, anger simmering up my head. Its only been a week since she came back to the house and now Sebastian rearing his ugly head again."What are you doing!" I immediately heard Psyche's voice inside. "You're mine, Hana. We're going to get married. So stop associating yourself to that good for nothing jock!" Sebastian's voice boomed. The door was locked but I had my own way in getting in. I tackled the door and it flew off its hinges. Sebastian was pinning Psyche on the wall as she tried struggling free from his grasp. I saw red! I sprinted towards him and immediately pulled him off of her. "Are you okay?" I imme
"Hey, are you coming home for dinner later?" I asked Psyche as soon as I saw her coming down the stairs. "Uhmm. No. I'm having dinner with Char later. Bye!" She immediately answered before rushing out to her car, while I could only stare and sigh as the door closed behind her. I don't know why, but I could feel that she's been avoiding me for a couple of weeks now. At first, I didn't really notice because I was busy with exams and training, but now I can definitely feel the shift in how she acts around me. I can't help but stare at her as she sits at the corner table of the cafeteria alone."Are you really just gonna stare at her?" Terrence asked as he sat beside me."Shut up." I said as I stood up. "Let's go! We're gonna be late for training." I dragged him out of the cafeteria, and just as we were going out, Sebastian walked past us with a smirk on his face. I followed him with my eyes, and he went straight to Psyche's table. I was about to walk back, but was stopped and dragged
Awkward is an understatement! I could feel Eros and Charlotte trying to psych each other out, but no one dared to say anything, especially Terrence. "I'll get the white wine!" I said before getting up and finally feeling at ease from the tension between the two. "I'll help you!" I heard Terrence say, and soon I felt his presense behind me. "I didn't know it would be this awkward!" He whispered as we took some glasses from the cupboards."What did you expect when you told Char our address?" I whispered back at him emphasizing every word, to let him know that he's not off the hook."She coerced me into telling her. It's not my fault that she's very persuasive." He said, scratching the back of his head as he blushed while staring at nothing. "You like Charlotte?" I asked in an amused hushed tone. My eyes lit up at the opportunity to tease him, and he just blushed even more. "Oh my god! You like her!" I said, almost jumping up and down in excitement."Stop it! She'll hear you!" Terrence
"Here, put some ice on it. It will heal on its own." The school nurse said, handing a cold compress to Eros, but I immediately grabbed it from him. He looked at me, confused as I reached for his face and angled it with his slightly swollen cheek facing me. I started dabbing the cold compress on it
"You good?" I asked Psyche as we were cruising along the highway on the way home. I felt her nod, but I also felt her shallow breaths and heard her sniffles in the midst of the silent road that we're taking. And then an idea popped into my head, and so I sped up. "This is not the way to the house.
"Thanks for the ride." She forced a smile on her face as she took off the helmet. "I guess now I know why you like riding this thing so much.""What do you mean?" I asked curiously at her as I put my things away."The way you can swerve through the roads. The air brushing through your skin." She pa
I noticed her as soon as she stepped into that club. I'm not sure whether to thank or be angry at her best friend for letting her wear that sinful red dress. She has been avoiding me since that night, and honestly, I can't blame her. I don't know exactly what I'm feeling towards her, but one thing
